Speaking of GMG, SQEX games are not available on there but I am able to buy them on humble. The whole situation is weird but I guess that's what we get because we are not living in "prominent" regions like the US or Europe.
Looking at how well Elden Ring did on PC in Japan (the separate japanese SKU was the #1 global top seller iirc), hopefully japanese publishers will get a wake up call and start treating the region better.

actual_norwegian_guy I don't know about other people but you will have to wait a good couple of days before I get accustomed enough to this very new piece of kit to dabble in Switch emulation. I totally will, but I'm in no rush.
I don't expect miracles, though. SMTV will definitely run, but how good remains to be seen.

that's good to hear then, i was kinda getting skeptical if that youtuber who made the previous emulation vids would do another switch emulation vid considering it got taken down by nintendo
remember though, my very tempting offer of pictures and vids of my dog when she was younger is still on the table (the money mentioned in the previous offer has unfortunately been used on iced coffee)

Haven't had the chance to play Haven yet, but this is pretty fuckin' rad
couldn't really get into the game when I tried it a few months ago, but this might get me to give another shot. seems that it might be coming back to Game Pass too unless the logo was included in the new trailer by mistake?

Those responses...
Don't even look on Steam. Any developer posting any message of support for Ukraine is flooded with comments calling them nazis (and worse), and the usual review bombs.

Most of them are from Russian users, but a good number of them are from China, posting crap that if Russia falls, the West will attack them next. o_O

Some people are hopeless.

Too late, I have seen some of those negative reviews. It's depressing

So did Valve got more generous and made possible to play games simultaneously on same account on Deck and PC or they are still not doing that?

Oh Ubisoft,

This is their thing lately, announce something, get trashed by community, delay indefinitely.

For people that don't know or are too lazy to read that:

Escape from Tarkovs ingame economy is tied to real life money because the devs were like why not, with the russian ruble being the primary one used and since all of the real life stuff going affecting Russia etc etc its value tanked so now it's basically garbage value wise so everything from vendors is super expensive

I do feel bad for the creators though. Since offhand they're one of the few Russian developers I know of off the top of my head but with the sanctions and everything affecting Russia it greatly changes how they will be able to pay for developmental costs or even do payments for servers and things. It's a bit different I think than some other developers since it's a continually updated game or I guess GAAS.

Similar issues affect Ukraine developers but there hasn't been a lot of light or things mentioned specifically on Russian ones so it's kind of interesting in that respect
(Beyond bringing up all that stuff)

Anyways I thought it was hilarious that the economy ingame tanked like that because I played it and now stuff was super expensive because they constantly tried to make everything super real and now it bit them in the ass because "Oh shit, it's too real!" and they can't dial it back without breaking everything

Don't see why couldn't patch out the connection to real world currencies and just have it be fixed-rate. Alternatively, if you do want to mirror real world a bit, you could just introduce some kind of correction function that ensures that the value of any one currency can't fall below 10% of the overall average of the value of all tracked currencies.

In fact, I don't understand why they didn't implement a fail-safe like this to begin with. The Rubel isn't exactly a strange to erratic movement, after all.

Valve had same problem with TF2 and Brazil (I think) like decade ago.

Ah, Steam reviews. Never change.

I don't need to hang around reddit or 4chan.
These days, seeing my activity feed, or game pages/forums on Steam is enough to be subjected to the same crap.

I know Valve doesn't wants to spend money on moderators, but they could at least do something when people report this crap, or, I don't know, ban users who post the same insults, racist crap, war propaganda, over and over again. A comment is deleted, there's dozens or hundreds of similar posts by the same users. Nothing happens to these people.

People talk about places like twitter being a cesspool. The community channels on Steam don't fare much better.

Maybe it's time for Steam to stop all the Russians the ability to post reviews for some time... or do something that stops the review bombing
The problem isn't limited to Steam reviews.
I'm sorry to say this, especially since I was always someone who enjoyed interacting with people from others cultures, but if Steam had a way to block content and users from certain countries, I would block users from Russia and China right away.

There's obviously exceptions, that sadly feel too far between, compared to this loud minority(?).
But, the last thing I want to see, when I arrive home from a long day at work, is rude assholes posting their racist crap, war propaganda, or their "truths" straight out of an alternate reality.

This is Marginal act a game developer from Ukraine. I decided to release Cthulhu pub today because I don't know what will be with me, my game, and my country tomorrow due to Russian aggression. Right now my city is under massive bombing attack. Ukrainian troops are fighting bravely and I hope we will survive this war.

I mean it's probably like what 15% people actually from russia and 50% bored 35 year olds in the USA and 50% people from china then like 20% people from other places
that's 100% right? yeah we're good

You can always do this.

If I'm being asked for a reason when reporting a post in Steam Community forums, normally I cited "disruption of other steam users' enjoyment by misusing the forum's posting privilege". The mods probably won't action the report right away, but I've reported dozens of these in the past and it almost always resulted in the post being removed.

I'm aware that we shouldn't really have to do this ourselves, but I guess this is the state of being a part of an online community, for better or worse. Of course, people probably don't have time to do this when there are bigger concerns elsewhere, but I reckon to be proactive about it --however small-- is what being a community is all about.

Thanks for the heads-up. (y)
I have all of his previous games, and I enjoy his brand of weird, "quirky", and frequently downright bizarre games, so I'm in.

For those unfamiliar with them, and if you enjoy something a bit "off the wall", do check them.

For example:

You can always do this.

I spent several hours this week doing exactly that. It doesn't work. Most posts aren't deleted. And the ones that are, the authors simply go and post the same crap again.
I follow several of the games I own, for the updates, and whenever someone posted a message about Ukraine (the Book of Demons developers, the Atom RPG developers, whose team is almost all from Ukraine; and many more) I knew what would come next: a torrent of insults and harassment.
There was, for example, a guy who was posting numerous times how the Western countries were a bunch of whores, and talking how Europe were a bunch of Nazis, and how Russia would wipe us all like pigs, and kill all the Nazis in Ukraine. I reported his posts. None were removed. He posted this on the news posts, reviews, and forums of several games. Nothing was done.

I really can't agree with Valve's "all is permitted" policy. And don't get me started on the profiles filled with swastikas and stuff.

I barely use social media, so I don't get to interact with this level of toxicity elsewhere, but on Steam, currently, just following a game, or clicking on a store page, pretty much guarantees I'll get pissed off, because I see this crap all over.

Babylon’s Fall is £60 here. Square Enix’s pricing is all over the place. It’s like they price it in the US then draw the ROW prices from a hat. FF7R is £70, Forspoken is £65, Babylon’s Fall is £60 and Guardians of the Galaxy is £50.

What the hell is going on at SE? I’d understand an across the board price increase (greedy company and Brexit) but this pricing stupidity is just frustrating. They should at the very least have a consistent and clearly communicated pricing strategy for each region so at least people know what to expect.

I wish more people would check the numerous free games that keep getting released on Steam.
Some are student games, some are prototypes, some are the work of amateur coders. Pretty much all of them are the work of people looking for some feedback, and a bit of attention, but sadly most people ignore them. It's really too bad, because quite frequently, they are highly creative.

The next time you're bored, and are in the mood for a short experience, do consider checking some of the free games available. I'm sure the developers appreciate the attention, and more often than not, you'll find that you haven't wasted your time.

Here's a few recent examples (the last game releases tomorrow):

There is something surreal about how SE keeps releasing these weird low/mid budget games where everyone can tell they're going to be mediocre/bombs and they try to salvage them in the weirdest ways, like with demos, high budget CG cutscenes (Balan Wonderworld), callbacks to the Metal Gear series (Left Alive)
And then they fuck up the most important part: releasing it at the highes price possible. How, how is Babylon's Fall 70 euros. And with a "Digital Deluxe" edition at 110 euros! With that money I could buy 2 Elden Rings. Are they so desperate to make back the game's budget? But then why not just, I don't know, don't go overblown with the budget
