Played this a few months ago. rough around the edges, to say the least, but I enjoyed the hybrid of Telltale/LiS episodic narrative game with RPG and adventure elements, and I look forward to seeing how VtM Swansong builds on that. Shame about the EGS exclusivity for that one, though
I need something to chill a bit, so this looked like best option when i went through my library xD

omg, guys guys guys. I was finally able to order a 3070ti!! EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 Ultra!!

Finally! holy shit, finally. 😭
My 1080ti can take a much needed rest. (I'll hold onto as a backup just in case, these days you can't be too safe with GPU...)

But still! Holy shit. I've waited soooooooo long. I've literally had the money saved up and sitting in my bank account since these damn things were announced.

G-Darius HD is finally releasing on Steam later this month, on March 30th/31st.

The Steam version will include the additions that will be added to the console versions through a patch (which will increase the number of playable versions included from 2 to 5; the original release had G-Darius and G-Darius HD; after this patch/Steam release, there's 3 more: G-Darius Ver.2, G-Darius Ver.2 HD, and G-Darius for consumer, a port of the original console versions featuring a few extra options).

On top of that, the Steam version will include Steam-exclusive features, among those a mode called "G Darius Exhibition", which will have a couple of boss fights presented in widescreen.

Here's a screenshot showcasing this Steam-exclusive mode:

And you can check a trailer for the Steam version (temporarily removed from the Steam page, since the release details are yet to be formally announced) at the following link:

---

If you like the game (personally, I love it; the Darius series is a personal favourite of mine) or genre, do consider supporting this release.
Taito, and M2 (who is handling this release, like they did with Darius Cozmic Collection Arcade), have been making a genuine effort with their recent Steam releases (all of them have added Steam-exclusive features/modes), and sadly sales appear to have been poor so far. :(

Hopefully things will be a bit better sales-wise with this release, to ensure we continue to get these classic arcade ports, with "lavish" M2 treatment, on PC/Steam. :cat-heart-blob:
G-Darius was one of my favorite shooters on PSX!

That older console version is what they now call "G-Darius for consumer", and will be included in the Steam version (along with the extras from that version, like galleries, ...). (y)

You can see some footage of the various versions that will be added on this Japenese trailer (the "for consumer" version I mentioned starts at 00:30):

Speaking of SMT

SMT3HD on Deck (In-Game)

Cinematics:

Yeah, video codecs strike again, should be "easy to fix" like Persona 4 Golden.
Plagman in case you see, here's a report for a common problem I bet you are all encountering within Proton's development.
Happy to say in-game graphics do not have any problem, just videos (menu looks the same)

Video codecs seem to be the most common bug out there, which I mean, I'm sure they are working hard to get all this things fixed overtime and it's not entirely gamebreaking as most of the cinematic events do happen within in-game environment so rendering is good but yeah, once they figure out how to do the video codec translation, A HUGE CHUNK OF GAMES will become verified FOR SURE.

EVGA is starting to sell cards directly now and they have been doing so for the last few weeks as well. While not every card is going to be available to buy directly I know that the 3070ti is one of the cards that you can get from them that comes in at a somewhat reasonable price with a good warranty. Congrats!

I can't believe we have Plagman around us!!! I don't want to sound ungrateful having you all as well but knowing we are a small community it's kind of shocking this discovery.

Also, I wish I could be more interested in shumps because JCB posts are made of such great of quality and also very charming. He is really trying hard to raise awareness and promote them but I'm afraid they are a very niche genre these days.

I only know a developer (Spanish) which is very much into shmups and he made Super Hydorah. I'm fairly convinced JCB already knew this but maybe he could reach him on Twitter and see if there's something else they can do to promote the genre in general.

Sure the game doesn't crash but I can't say it's a great experience to see part of something that should be a narrative experience turning into weird bars or some such, it's fine if it's not your first time playing a game but otherwise is meh.

Furthermore if a fix for that is close they should have delayed a bit the deck, because atm this looks like some sort of thing that would be passable for a beta not a final product (yeah yeah early adopters and all that).
If a fix is not coming soon then I don't have much hope because they've been supposedly at it for over six months now. In my experice when you release something whilst having worked on it for so long it means a solution might not be in sight anytime soon and you're winging it (otherwise you'd delay it a bit).

Whatever the case both outcomes look bad imho.

edit: made clearer what I meant

Don't get me wrong, I know it sucks but this thing in particular takes a huge amount of time given the potential legal problems it could have and video codecs are something quite a bit... tricky Durante might be able to tell you a bit than me for sure.

So yeah, experience is not great in those cases but at the very least in some other cases like SMT3 the experience is way better as cinematics are a smaller portion of the game, so yeah, I totally feel you.

As are the Panzer Dragoon Remake videos. These should work with ProtonGE, but for some reason the game cannot be found within ProtonUp-Qt so I can't download the GE patch.

I'm not saying they should have gone with the option bringing legal issue and I'm not interested in the technical aspect of it either I'm saying they went ahead with a shit decision and it stays a shit decision regardless of outcomes.
If it "takes a huge amount of time" to deliver a working product, you should take that amount of time.

you still got hundrets of games that arte officially marked supported and work flawlessy .. you basically fo out of your wa tring stuff thats not supported yet .. yes it would be "nice to have" but its still just a fraction of overal picture ... what you imply is to have whole db of games to have through tested and working ... before shipping .. which is pretty much impossible task if you ask me unless you want to be actual console and not "handheld pc"

I've never said I want the entire steam library to be verified, I'm specifically talking about the video codecs issue, I don't imply anything except the things I have specifically written tbh

that said as soon as it's done charging I'm gonna see if proton ge can fix this thing

The video codecs issue is annoying for sure, but that's it. Maybe finally Japanese devs won't use obscure, old and obsolete WMF codecs from now on. Some of these don't even work correctly on current Windows versions.

You mean Locomalito, the awesome Spanish retro games developer, whose works I frequently post about? ;)

Well, like me, he is another big fan of the Darius series, so come release date, as usual with past Steam releases of Darius titles, he will surely be playing and posting on twitter about G-Darius. :grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes:

good news is that proton ge fixed the codecs mess, the bad news is that when i swapped back to proton it seems it did something to my games and now they're "updating" which is to say they're re-downloading lmao

Just finished Guardians of the Galaxy since it came out on Game Pass and I had a lot of fun with it. It reminded me of old Bioware games with how I actually got invested in the story and lore. The voice acting was really excellent as well and helped really sell all the snark and sass of the team. I'll probably pick it up when it is cheap on Steam just to show some support for their efforts. That all being said, the number of softlocks I had was infuriating; really surprised how buggy the game could be at times despite it being out for awhile.

I don't know how, but The Algorithm somehow presented me with a Japanese VTuber that seems to only play 90's and early 2000s games.

There's just something... Esoteric... about seeing Thief in such a context.

Bro, I would prostitute myself for an internet connection that fast lmao
Not to sound pretentious but for fiber optic that is kinda on the lower side. I have 100Mbps for past like 3 years and my ISP always laughs when I ask do they intend to raise speeds. They always ask me why do I need more. At least a-holes should drop price then if they don't intend to raise speed, i am paying same amount for 3 years XD In other countries things change yearly XD

Last year I could finally upgrade my internet from 10/1 mbs to 500/50mbs for the same price. It was a revelation, I no longer need to wait 2 days to download bigger games.

Two games released by Visco Corporation on the Neo Geo during the 90's are getting sequels.
Well, one of them already released on consoles, and will release on Steam this week. The other is coming next month.

Here's a couple of recent launches that may be worth a look:

The developer of indie 3D platformer Roxy Raccoon has released a pinball re-imagining of his game, and it looks pretty decent, especially for the current asking price:

---

This user-friendly music creation software appears to have some potential:

---

The developers of Chernobylite has released a Charity Pack, with proceeds going to Ukraine relief efforts.
On top of that, they will donate the proceeds of the weekly sales of the game to those same charities.

From what I'm seeing, reviews are praising the visuals/aesthetic and world, but the gameplay, story and side missions (busywork) are underwhelming. :x
Sounds like a good Game Pass game for when it launches there a year from now.

Unless Sony has put some fuckery making it not be available on game pass.
