Woooooow......

I suggest that if you have not that you check your network data more often.

I'm too lazy to try to reset my home router to find out who is using the wifi and stuff like that.

So this whole time it seems that I have been using my internal wifi for my PC and have not been using the Ethernet port.

I had to check and stuff and it seems that my PC was using WiFi .......

So I was downloading stuff from Steam at a rate of 2.0MBps and then it show up to over 7MBps when I connected directly from my PC to my modem.

Yeah I really need to move stuff around.

I could have been playing Lego Star Wars already

I actually do like Shadow of the Tomb Raider the best of the recent reboot. I've often gotten the feeling that I'm in the minority. :D
Rise I find probably the worst. It just leans so so much into the shooty bang side, so many encounters that your are just forced to shoot your way out of.
Shadow felt like they designed it in a way that allowed for more stealthy approach to more things, and with the individual difficulty options for exploration, puzzle and combat, I could tailor it to my liking. I can't tell you how happy I was to be able to remove all the suspiciously placed white paint from the world. :grinning-face:
The tailoring of combat and puzzles in Shadow was a great idea indeed, more games should have such individual tailoring options :)

I liked Rise of and Shadow of the Tomb Raider on first plays, but subsequent playthroughs were a chore.

Meanwhile, I liked Tomb Raider (2013) a lot less than its sequels on first play, but I've found it a bit more gratifying on repeat plays.

Not sure what that says about the reboot series, really. I like all three but in different ways.

I just realized that now that 13 Sentinels is on PC, people will definetly pirate it to play with an emulator.

This can be solved if Atlus decide to release it on Steam, but as we know, Atlus hates money.

If you bought the current Humble Choice you might want to grab this "Killsquad SteelSeries Skins Pack"

--

Also, as unrelated note if you own all Metro games and were waiting to get Exodus season pass cheap then you might want to check the bundle on Steam

Oh wait that's space, not spice.

Square will soon run out of classics to port, Vagrant Story will surely be soon. No pre-rendered background problems with that game, and only like one FMV.

Though I'm sure they would break the unique fake dof effect it had in couple of scenes. And they'd probably replace the font with something hideous.

afaik Japanese publishers were generally very, very bad about preserving source code and original assets for many years, and this didn't really get resolved until the PS3/360 era (iirc the PS2 era wasn't quite as bad for preservation as PS1, but it was still pretty bad)
Ye, outside of Nintendo (and somehow Capcom), most japanese companies just treated source code really badly, and Square probably the worst of all. I think SE had to ask Nintendo for some of the source code for their SNES games, as that was sent for verification back then.

Recently realized that since I now have a beefier CPU, I should probably try emulating some more modern games. What are the best emulators for more recent consoles like PS3, Wii/Wii U and Switch?

Also, maybe I'll just cave and emulate the PS3 version of Persona 5. That way it's guaranteed they'll announce P5R for PC not long after. Then again, I thought that's what was happening with Bloodborne but at this point I believe it was all nothing but lies lmao. :upside-down-face:

Speaking of Atlus, it's tempting to load up my 3DS with all their games since they're all on sale right now but if I was gonna grab them all for posterity I'd really rather it was physical copies. Otherwise I might as well just emulate them. I actually own a physical copy of Soul Hackers but I really don't feel like looking through boxes for my 3DS so I'll probably just emulate it before Soul Hackers 2 comes out. It'll probably be a better experience anyway lol.

As always, a grain of salt. Or 300 kg. Whichever's best.

"basically emulated"
Ngl I kinda doubt this/suspect the person posting this misunderstands what emulation is.
None of Square's games with the exception of FF Legend 1-3 are emulated on PC. It would be very weird for them to do that now.

While not really emulated the old FFV/VI versions were pulling the data from a GBA Rom so it could be that.

Capcom wasn't perfect either, fwiw (I think the developer of the Okami Wii port wasn't given source code, though that may have been unearthed later for the HD ports, and we're stuck with PS2-resolution cutscenes in RE4 Separate Ways because they apparently lost the original source assets). still may have been better than many of their contemporaries though

RPCS3 for PS3 games is the one I've used in the past. Pretty good. Supports some online stuff for games like Demon's Souls.
Wii emulator is probably Dolphin still.
I dunno about Wii U
I've used both Yuzu and Ryujinx for Switch and I think I've had better luck with Ryujinx, but it probably varies game by game.

This is correct and keeps happening.

It's kinda impressive how little respect companies have for their back catalog.

Watch the source code come out of someone that used to be an intern at SE that security forgot to check their backpack on their way out.

Is Helldivers a solo-able game? I don't expect there to be a big community anymore and not a friend of playing with strangers.
Was always curious about that one.

Not really, it's meant to be played with other people. It's a shame that the Steam version did not have cross-play with Playstation consoles.

Aww. Wish I still had my old Magicka crew. Seems Helldivers would require the same amount of (un)coordination.

If you could find 2 or 3 people friends to play with, then Helldivers is an absolute blast. I had tons of fun playing it, I definitely enjoyed it much much more than Magicka. My only complaint would be that it gets hard relatively fast. Can't wait for Helldivers 2 which was predicted by Nostradamus from Nvidia.
