Great headline games, but rest of catalogue seems just meh (unless someone tells me otherwise)

The tailoring of combat and puzzles in Shadow was a great idea indeed, more games should have such individual tailoring optionsI actually do like Shadow of the Tomb Raider the best of the recent reboot. I've often gotten the feeling that I'm in the minority.
Rise I find probably the worst. It just leans so so much into the shooty bang side, so many encounters that your are just forced to shoot your way out of.
Shadow felt like they designed it in a way that allowed for more stealthy approach to more things, and with the individual difficulty options for exploration, puzzle and combat, I could tailor it to my liking. I can't tell you how happy I was to be able to remove all the suspiciously placed white paint from the world.
I liked it as well. The reboot was a disappointment for me though, and Shadow has a lot of boring moments (but also some great ones).Rise of the Tomb Raider was very good, thank you very much
Nice to see it has a relatively close date.
afaik Japanese publishers were generally very, very bad about preserving source code and original assets for many years, and this didn't really get resolved until the PS3/360 era (iirc the PS2 era wasn't quite as bad for preservation as PS1, but it was still pretty bad)As always, a grain of salt. Or 300 kg. Whichever's best.
Ye, outside of Nintendo (and somehow Capcom), most japanese companies just treated source code really badly, and Square probably the worst of all. I think SE had to ask Nintendo for some of the source code for their SNES games, as that was sent for verification back then.afaik Japanese publishers were generally very, very bad about preserving source code and original assets for many years, and this didn't really get resolved until the PS3/360 era (iirc the PS2 era wasn't quite as bad for preservation as PS1, but it was still pretty bad)
"basically emulated"As always, a grain of salt. Or 300 kg. Whichever's best.
Cemu is great for a WiiU Zelda BoTW playthrough.Recently realized that since I now have a beefier CPU, I should probably try emulating some more modern games. What are the best emulators for more recent consoles like PS3, Wii/Wii U and Switch?
While not really emulated the old FFV/VI versions were pulling the data from a GBA Rom so it could be that."basically emulated"
Ngl I kinda doubt this/suspect the person posting this misunderstands what emulation is.
None of Square's games with the exception of FF Legend 1-3 are emulated on PC. It would be very weird for them to do that now.
Capcom wasn't perfect either, fwiw (I think the developer of the Okami Wii port wasn't given source code, though that may have been unearthed later for the HD ports, and we're stuck with PS2-resolution cutscenes in RE4 Separate Ways because they apparently lost the original source assets). still may have been better than many of their contemporaries thoughYe, outside of Nintendo (and somehow Capcom), most japanese companies just treated source code really badly, and Square probably the worst of all. RPCS3 for PS3 games is the one I've used in the past. Pretty good. Supports some online stuff for games like Demon's Souls.Recently realized that since I now have a beefier CPU, I should probably try emulating some more modern games. Also, maybe I'll just cave and emulate the PS3 version of Persona 5. That way it's guaranteed they'll announce P5R for PC not long after. Then again, I thought that's what was happening with Bloodborne but at this point I believe it was all nothing but lies lmao.
It has marketing?Starfield marketing is getting tiring.
Going back to the roots, nice!
In this case seems like SEGA wasn't involved and only licensed the IP, like the Panzer Dragoon and House of the Dead remakes, Shenmue 3, and Bayonetta 2 and 3.another amazing success by SEGA in the wake of the Sakura Wars mobage
It has talk videos filled with concept art and reveal trailer footage every few weeks. I have feeling that this will be worse than No Mans Sky.It has marketing?
This is correct and keeps happening.I think SE had to ask Nintendo for some of the source code for their SNES games, as that was sent for verification back then.
It's kinda impressive how little respect companies have for their back catalog. As always, a grain of salt. Or 300 kg. Whichever's best.
Moved my LG C1 to my desk to use as my main display

Buying NFT is already dumb enough, imagine buying them for one of the demonstrably worst releases from Ubisoft in a while.
It is comically large lol
No space for a second monitor though
A 43 inch model is coming later this yearI use it as a TV and I can't imagine using it as a monitor, it's just humongous
Not really, it's meant to be played with other people. It's a shame that the Steam version did not have cross-play with Playstation consoles. Is Helldivers a solo-able game? I don't expect there to be a big community anymore and not a friend of playing with strangers.
Was always curious about that one.
There's also a SA region app available for free as well.Black Desert Online is free:
Aww. Wish I still had my old Magicka crew. Seems Helldivers would require the same amount of (un)coordination. Not really, it's meant to be played with other people. It's a shame that the Steam version did not have cross-play with Playstation consoles.
I've been making a new list as I want to get some stuff sorted for Steamdeck now.
Just use the Jawmuncher tag.I've been making a new list as I want to get some stuff sorted for Steamdeck now.
Stuff like this is great!
Life finds a way (for a second monitor).

good shout, I think I have the monitor arm somewhere tooLife finds a way (for a second monitor).
Just get some kind of arm thingy and put a second monitor on top of that one.
If you could find 2 or 3 people friends to play with, then Helldivers is an absolute blast. I had tons of fun playing it, I definitely enjoyed it much much more than Magicka. My only complaint would be that it gets hard relatively fast. Can't wait for Helldivers 2 which was predicted by Nostradamus from Nvidia.Aww. Wish I still had my old Magicka crew. Seems Helldivers would require the same amount of (un)coordination.
