The whole mix'n'match your own culture stuff that was supposed to make the game stand out is completely vapid and shallow and pointless.
Taking that aside, it's literally just a less content rich, less deep version of CivVI. Almost all other mechanics are almost the exact same.
I see we are in a going for the throat kind of days :coffee-blob:

Edit
Me personally, I'm in a 'I just spent hours sorting the games that interest me and I still don't know what to play, there is something wrong with my head', kind of days.

they learned absolutely nothing after that "game from the developers of Halo" completely bombed (probably due to, at least in part, shit regional pricing)
Saying this might suck for the devs but it's probably gonna be a bit of a bloodbath for smaller games until idiot publishers realise that shit regional pricing is in fact not going to make them more money.
In the short-term, maybe. But I'm fairly certain long-term this is just going to stifle organic marketing (popularity, word of mouth), franchise growth and promote piracy.

:cryblob: Hopefully the decision can be reversed
That's pretty annoying, was waiting on this to release. Maybe this is a sign that Spike was trying to release an uncensored version? Because otherwise it's a bit confusing how this game is banned, but Chaos;Child got a pass, which also features pupils and a ton of ultra violence.

Might be just unlucky where the inconsistency of VN review of Steam incorrectly banned it.

But I think it have a higher chance to be reversed as Spike is a close partner to Valve and they probably have direct contact with them.

It's really annoying how these bans always hit japanese VN style games. There is so much shit that comes out no problem but as soon as you see a school uniform even with no porn (Chaos Head literally comes out on switch, it's sold at walmart!) you get the boot. I hate to say this but I actually wonder if someone is prejudiced against these games

yeah it feels like a reviewer simply looked at this game they didn't know, saw it was a japanese VN, saw it had violence + school uniform, had a look at their checklist and booted it

wasn't there a story some time back that a local group in Seattle is putting pressure on Valve to keep erotic content out of Steam? As in, threatening law suits in the state of Washington.
Maybe Valve just decided to be overly aggressive on this, and in particular decided to be overly aggressive on Japanese VNs, in order to avoid any headaches. It just reeks of puritan nonsense. Guns and blood, ok. Anime boobs, no.

you're really overthinking this, that was ages ago and if that was true I could't buy

or

they just see a school uniform + VN and they go ballistic

Valve is strangely inconsistent about this. Especially for a game from an actual publisher, not random indies.
like there's a game called Revenge of the Orcs: Flag of Conquest

and this is how one of the reviews starts

this game has been released on august 12th 2022

Playing Cyberpunk 2077 at a consistent 60+ FPS with full ray-tracing is amazing... Though it is rendering at 720p with DLSS, so I guess it can't be too surprising.
I'll eventually upgrade from my 3700x, but if I need to upgrade my motherboard I'll probably go back to Intel tbh
My big hold-up with that would be that Intel's still doing the thing where they have a new CPU socket every two years or so, while I'm pretty sure AMD said their new AM5 socket will last a long time like AM4 has.

I guess I'll just go wherever gives me the best bang for my brexit buck like I did the last time.

I'll just get the best cpu I can for my current x570 mobo for now, but that'll be after I get the 4080

Rumors that the new Ryzen CPUs are going to come out by the end of September, and a few months later seems like there may be X3D versions of the new cpus (versions with alot more L3 cache like the 5800X3D).

95% of my playtime is on my PC, so Im definetly getting a 4080. 5% is between PS5 and Switch.

My PS5 is barely in use and my Xbox doesn't really exist, been dusting down for a long time.

All my friends have actually left Xbox consoles long time ago (and consoles in general) and are sticking to PC.

I don't know anyone who uses an Xbox these days. Quite suprising, really.

I'm happy with my 3070 Ti. I'd probably never get a 40 series card since that'd also require buying a new PSU, and I'm not doing another upgrade that's more difficult than swapping one part.

I'm at a point where I'm not interested in playing anything unless it's on Steam. I make an exception for Switch exclusives but everything else I'd rather not play it else where. I'm actually thinking about selling my PS5, I'm only weighing whether I should wait for FF XVI.

Running games on 40fps on Deck ON THE GO > 3090 Ti. Honestly not sure if I would build a powerful rig ever again.
The future for handheld pc will be really bright as well. The next AMD chip for Deck 2 should be like 30-50% more powerful than the current model. Its gonna be crazy to see how far Valve goes with it because there is already a lot of overhead playing indies and old titles now. I want a 120hz display

As for powerful rigs it will continue to be about software for me. The big graphical powerhouse AAA games cost so much money to make and take so long to release I don't get desperate to build anything too powerful anymore. I think the best future combo will be a Deck + Mid/low Range pc. The 4060 or 4070 will be the sweet spot. Save a bunch of money that way and use it to buy games ;)

10 years ago, especially during middle school, we were all in on consoles, Xbox, Playstation, you name it, we didn't care for PC, I only had a PC for Crysis and Age of Conan, but everything was consoles. We even fought who was better, Xbox or Playstation. The the years went by and at the end of middle school (15-16 years old) me and like everyone I knew at the time started playing on PC. I have no recollection of why, but we gradually moved away from consoles.

These days, some of us still have consoles, like me, I have a Switch, PS5 and Xbone X, but we don't really care for any of them. Im an outlier though, most only have a console (PS5 or Switch) that they don't really use and a PC.

I once talked to a friend who was mega into consoles (huge Xbox fanboy) about why he doesn't even have an Xbox now and is only on PC. Main reasons were the game library and free online, he loved mods too, but the game library and free online was his main reason.
