I want to believe but I don't hold any hope for this BUT JUDGMENT AND PERSONA 5 ROYAL HAPPENED, WHAT THE FUCK, IT CAN HAPPEN, IT WILL HAPPEN, HOPIUM!!!!!!

I think Mega Mix+ (who expected that one) especially shows that SEGA will bring whatever makes any business sense (so... no Sakura Wars :notlikethisblob: ) and that they really mean to aggressively port things but I don't think it'll happen on a Japan-focused stream.

Valve sued for... it's employees. testing Vive Cosmos Elite?

Valve also sued for Steam Deck supporting wireless headsets

Nothing like a bit of alleged/seeming/it-looks-a-lot-like market manipulation from a certain graphics card company to kickstart the weekend.

Shadowdrop the same day as Kingdom Hearts. 🙃
not the same cases tbh.

One is under some weird management (S-E) and the other potentially lacks enough programmers to even make a port.

It was more of a joke about how I personally don't expect either of them anytime soon.
IMHO I expect KH any random day while I don't have any expectations for 13 Sentinels, however, I will never say "not happening" cause' I have been proved wrong many times with that lol

Yeah, KH could drop any day. I'm just super skeptical at this point because, like, we all joke about how nonsensical S-E is but they dropped FFVIIR on Steam 6 months after EGS to the day. It's not just some random port or obscure game, it's one of their biggest IPs. If the exclusivity window has expired and they had any intention of doing a Steam release, I feel like it would've happened by now.

Either they think it's not worth doing or there's something else in the way. Like the exclusivity was actually 2 years or they need to clear it with Disney or something.

Nintendo Ninjas are ruthless
The funny thing is how Portal 2 is on Switch, but I guess you don't need that in order to play it natively.
---------

From that
I mean that's possible, but I also think you're underestimating how much corporations editorially curate their social media.

Personally, I could see them feeling a little competitively punchier now that they've worked through their long preorder wait lists and can actually market this thing, but I don't think it was intended as more than a wink for those savvy enough to catch it rather than some sort of competitive marketing broadside.

Maybe I'm just stupid and maybe this person knows may more than I do or something like that.

But hasn't it only been in the last year or so that Valve has been using social media for more than just announcing discounts on games and talking about game patch notes?

Knocked out another jrpg on Deck. This time the 3D remake of III.

Was able to do it in a little under 30hrs. I did use a guide here n there because I wanted to get all cheevos but after seeing the Jack of all trades achievement yea no thanks Squeenix fuck that. Still a really solid game. Garuda, Cerberus and final boss were really tough but everything else was fairly easy. Just taking a few hours to grind 5-10levels ahead makes the game a breeze really. Overall a solid middle of the road FF game. I think a 7/10 rating would fit it nicely. The map and world design just wasn't as good as the other early games imo. The inability to properly quicksave in the final stretch of the game was kind of funny as the quicksave is already busted in the game and it exits you out when you do it. But just quitting the game when you know your party is about to die is the only proper way of doing it without restarting the entirety of the crystal tower. I guess that is an easy Deck perk but it would had of worked that way on desktop too. Its kind of silly they don't let you properly save in dungeons. I lost a bunch of time in that final stretch and I am guessing a lot of people did too lol.

But yea the Deck is such a great JRPG machine. Feels really good playing through a DS game like this as I didn't really own any Nintendo handheld after the GBcolor back in the day so I missed out on a lot.

Also the game worked really well on Deck but isn't listed as verified simply because you have to touch the play game screen when booting it as there is no other way for it to start it heh. Kind of funny for something so small to be the reason but wtvr. The game was also sadly locked to 3ofps but in turn it gave the deck like 6.5hrs of battery life. Kind of crazy with these graphics to have that battery life as I don't even think the pixel remasters would do that much @60fps. But 3D top down gameplay is definitely more tolerable at 30 unlike the pixels ones which are almost impossible to get used to with the movement if it isn't 60.

I hope that the 3d version of FFIII gets a better mod scene at some point. It would be neat to remake the older games in 3d using a similar art style within the same engine or get some better backgrounds for the battle scenes.

... or have it not run at 15fps :P

I wish Steam had more options to organise your library.

Categories are great, but where's name sorting configuration?

Don't you all just love it when your library looks like this?

Game 2 - The Subtitle
Game: The Subtitle

Different Game Series
Different Game Series
Different Game Series
Different Game Series
Different Game Series
Different Game Series
Different Game Series
Different Game Series
Different Game Series
Subtitle: Game 3

Valve need to let us edit game library settings so we can put custom sorting titles in. And as an aside while they're fixing their shocking lack of library management settings they should improve their Non-Steam Game functionality on Windows so that it works better with games using other launchers/DRM.

re: game pass

Well, it had to happen. Between me being stubborn and not the best at tech, I horribly fucked my C: permissions and services to the point of having to repair… but even after that the 0x80070005 issue persists.
I’m of half a mind to waste several more hours moving files and simply formatting and doing a fresh install.

Did people try that ? Could the issue still endures ?

For ref I can install game pass games on c: and d: but suddenly am only allowed to launch them on d:

Im so happy I quit game pass, felt it was like playing russian roulette, replacing bullets with technical hurdles.

The patent system is broken beyond salvation. How were these trolls granted this patent when Bluetooth was created +20 years ago. That alone should be enough to invalidate any of that crap. Hopefully they get sued for frivulously and maliciously misusing the legal system

Didn't gog galaxy have a field where you could write a alt title for a game which it would sort it after while still showing original title. That would be great for steam.
That's exactly what I want, and Playnite has it so that's where my games currently launch from.

I've given up on Steam as a desktop big picture UI. Even when Valve release the Deck UI for all users the Windows comfy couch PC experience is so fundamentally broken (not all Valve's fault) that it's easier to just use Playnite to launch a game on Windows and have good quality of life library management features.

But on Steam Deck I'm pretty much stuck using Valve's Deck UI. Adding non-Steam games on Linux is pretty trivial (BoilR actually works, as opposed to on Windows where I've had less luck) but ignoring that there's still an issue with sorting names in your Steam library.

Yeah, same. Game Pass was fine on the Series S and I don't regret the 3 year deal I paid to get the service, but there's no way I was gonna renew (even though you can do the same Gold to GP Ultimate conversion) because the experience on Windows is absolutely horrid.

If I buy a Series X I'll probably give Game Pass another go so I can get a good 4K/60fps experience while avoiding using it on PC, but it's just an all around terrible experience on PC so I won't be back for that.

For starters, launching any/all Game Pass games requires use of a mouse on first launch because Microsoft requires you to login and "grant permission" to each game and after many years of doing this still hasn't let us control that screen with a controller.

Then there's the "uninstalled" games issue where Windows permanently steals your drive space when you uninstall a game.

Developers clearly don't give a fuck because their GPU versions are broken compared to the Steam/EGS releases.

The whole experience just feels like it's putting barriers up to me actually playing the damn games, which is the last thing you want from a subscription service. Utterly dreadful experience.

This is my most wanted feature. There're some solutions like

1. Exit from Steam
2. Open %PathToSteam%\appcache\appinfo.vdf ("C:\Program Files\Steam\appcache\appinfo.vdf" for example) with any advanced text editor ("AkelPad" for example)
3. Search by game name place where it going after "common name" and change it
4. Save the file
5. Launch Steam and get pleasure from the normal names
but gets back to older name on every update, it's not practical.

Valve should let to rename games on your library.
f.e. I want to have all street fighter games arranged. Puzzles me Street Fighter V is before Ultra Street Fighter IV on my library.

There's actually an app to do most of this automatically. But it's been abandoned by its dev (last update June 2020), as far as I can tell is closed source (so who knows what it's doing) and still has some known issues (especially on HiDPI systems) so I can't recommend it.

I'm going crazy.
Unfortunate that Proton is not there yet for a majority of games because I'm seriously thinking about ditching windows altogether.

The piece of shit decided I was somehow admin and not admin. Every game that I tried fucked on me because this folder or that folder doesn't include permission for me. I know you shouldn't play with permissions, that's how I got there, but what choice do I have when this flaming piece of shit
breaks Rockstar Social Club
breaks Nioh 2 saving
breaks Moonbreaker log in

And yeah, it's all because some folder or another wasn't set up to allow me to use it.

I suppose the only remedy would be to do a format and clean install.

Curently at a loss to have Afterburner and Rivatuner work. They used to launch in tandem but now Rivatuner doesn't.

Maybe I'm just lucky about my choice of games, but pretty much nothing I tried on the Deck just flat out refused to run, or even had major issues that weren't just the game not being suitable for the Deck, like tiny UI or not great performance.
So Proton is pretty much perfect from experience with it.

I'm really tempted. REALLY.
Nioh 2 looks to work well, Hitman 3 too, Persona 4 evidently... XCOM 2 looks iffy though and I'm not sure about GTA V (but that's no big deal).

I shouldn't have to fight so hard to control my computer, this is mind boggling. This is just not right.

I had a hard time adjusting Blue Reflection Second Light's performance on the deck. Still runs bad after applying the atelier fix. Guess I need to play it on my main rig.
I fiddled with the game a bit longer. Setting shadow and reflections to low, no light shafts, applying the atelier fix and setting the manual GPU clock to max finally managed to make the game run in 35 fps (sub 30 without the GPU clock override) in the first dungeon. So I just limited the game to 30 fps. GPU usage around 50%. Texture is set to high so the game still looks good enough on handheld. Gust surely shit the bed technically but at least I can make the performance relatively enjoyable when the Switch footage I saw on youtube looks like a blurry mess.

Uh just saw that comment in a steam discussion about Man of Medan on linux.

'Sadly there is no Linux port. But the game runs good with Proton out of the Box.
I have finished the game and the only problems are the not working vision videos. But they are not very important or helpfull.'

Typical :so-good-blob:

HOLY SMOKES, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

P3P is such a good way to start next year.

And if we get Starfield + BaldursGate 3 later in the year its gonna be so good. Plus there is Silksong and most likely an Elden Ring expansion.

Already shaping up to be an amazing year with just that small slate :grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Edit: Forgot about Cyberpunk expansion + new Kojima game hype cycle :grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes::grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes:

the funniest thing is that volvo already did that a good few years ago, but it's only available to publishers (which the vast majority of them don't give a flying fuck about, clearly)

Files secured on another disk. Nearly ready to format.
To think that to have 100% compatibility I will have to reinstall windows is making me throw up.
