My word, Sonic Frontiers sucks ass.

Why does a Sonic game have a skill tree? Why does it have a boring open world littered with icons on a map you need to slowly unlock parts of?

It wears some of AAA gaming’s worst sins with a shit-eating grin. Utterly soulless and devoid of any originality.

A shame because the actual Sonic bits (the short “Cyberspace” levels) are as good as the levels in the Adventure games. It’s just the shit they’ve chosen to encrust those levels in that’s the problem.
Like I said in my post in the goty thread (for turd of the year) it's one of the worst games I've played in 30 years of gaming. I could only handle 2-3 hours of it before I had to stop. It felt like a shovelware game on steam using stolen sonic assets.

I wish I could turn some of the crap I have in my steam inventory to gems.
that is... an actually good idea.
On the other hand, if you can cash out your games, some people will do it to really cash out from Steam, and if you have no library on Steam anymore, then you are less likely to still be invested in the platform. So Valve wouldn't do it from that standpoint alone.

Maybe we'll finally see Neon Prime.

I got the feeling Deckard is still a ways out.
Yea I don't see Valve making a wireless VR headset until there are standalone graphics chip capability to run Alyx with good peformance/visuals.

And I doubt they would just release a new mild upgrade over the current Index. The headset is still top of the line not counting the display resolution.

If all the Mcvicker/VNN rumors are true from the past years then Neon Prime is gonna be a multiplayer shooter in the Half-Life universe. Some of the gameplay mechanics leaked from it makes me hopeful its gonna be some secret Team Fortress 3 type game. Valve is in prime position to do it with TF2 being in the meh state its in. Overwatch 2 also didn't make as big of a splash as I thought it would so I think a TF3 could be massive.

After 105 hours I have finally ... reached the Royal part of Persona 5.
This is the single JRPG I have ever replayed. And it will probably stay the only one, these games are just too long. Special shoutout to my Steam Deck and the few minutes of play you can sneak in here and there.

Naaaah.
When it was over i was sad cuz i wanted more.
The SMT Demon Fusion + The Daily Life Management + Waifus is the perfect recipe to an RPG.
The only thing that could make it any more perfect was if it also had basebuilding.
Same when i finished my 2nd walkthrough of P5 i just wished it was longer just like the first time and it’ll happen again when i finish my third playthrough now with Royal

Unforanatnly I don't think there's enough people at Valve currently that care about the Team Fortress franchise enough to make a Team Fortress 3. Most of the bug fixes this year was farmed out to their contractor who's been adding Vulkan support to their older games.

Overall around 3090 Ti at 1440p, but around 3090 or worse at 4K likely due to a lack of memory bandwidth, Far too expensive for what it is and it even makes the already overpriced Radeon 7900 XT look good. (Nevermind about this, I was looking at some outliers results that had a sizable gap between the 7900 XT and 4070 Ti, in favour of the Radeon).

Serious question, in an AMD card a good investment?
A 7000 series card? No.
At some price points the 6000 series cards can be a decent deal, though it depends on what level you are looking at, and which country you are in.
E.g. the 6650 XT is in stock for ~350 € and a bit faster than the PS5 GPU -- but you can get a RTX 3060 for the same price and I'd argue that's a better overall package.

it even makes the already overpriced Radeon 7900 XT look good.
How so? It's cheaper, barely slower in rasterization, significantly faster in raytracing, and more energy efficient. And it also has all the software ecosystem advantages of NV. The biggest advantage of the 7900 XT is its memory capacity, but I don't think that will be all that relevant for the usage scenarios of these cards, and I don't think it outweighs all the other factors.
(That is not to say that the 4070ti is a good deal at its price - it's not - but IMHO it's still clearly better than the 7900 XT)

Ah, the last reviews I saw had some games that had some pretty sizable gaps between the 4070 Ti and 7900 XT (in favour of the 7900 XT), which affected my perception of the 4070 Ti's overall performance, my bad.

Checking NVidia's spanish website, the 4070 Ti's MSRP in the EU is 910€.

On another note, there's a rumor that the Ryzen 7950X3D, 7900X3D and 7800X3D will be released in February and that they'll have a "120W" TDP?
If the rumor is true, I guess the announcement will happen in the CES stream later.

Yeah it really depends on your country. In my country the 6700XT is like $150-200 cheaper than the 3060ti and the 4070 ti is looking to be more expensive than some of the 7900 XT models lol

I enjoyed the open world, clearing small platforming challenges to get collectables, and I also enjoyed most of the mini bosses. The collectables challenges in the first island they can hardly be called challenges though and also the open world offers no replay value atm. Overall it's not for everyone, some people like the open world and others don't. :x
The biggest problem I have with it is the aesthetic of the open world, it's just too generic.

The cyberspace stages, I don't like how Sonic feels to control in them, I ended getting used to it, but it's just so jarring how different they are to control when compared to the open world. I also don't like how short they are, I prefer 2~3 mins stages over these mostly 1 min or less ones.

My overall opinion of the game is that it's very, very flawed, but I enjoyed playing it.
I agree. Frontiers is a 7/10 that I love like a 10/10. I was fully expecting to go into the game hating the open world and liking the cyberspace levels but it was the other way around. The physics in cyberspace are super weird and feel great in some levels but awful in others. Music consistently slapped though. I also surprisingly enjoyed a lot of what they did with the open world, Though god I wish the aesthetics were better, and wish they did more of the fun obstacle course like areas. The first island only had 1.

Overall after that initial 4chan leak I was so exhausted and really wasn't expecting to like it at all, but the characterization, soundtrack, bosses and exploration were all really great. I just hope Sonic Team actually listens to criticism and fixes the gripes people have with it and expand on the formula instead of throwing it out and doing some completely new gimmick next time like they always do.

Also for the love of god SEGA please expand Sonic Team and give them a higher budget Sonic is still your highest grossing franchise how is Sonic Team still so small.

I think I'll snag Hitman 3 before the sale is over. From what I understand, the story contents of Hitman 2 will be there for everyone once it changes names, and that's all I really care about. It's a great series, but it's not like I am interested in the time investment to explore more than just the basic missions.

Ryzen 7000X3D CPUs, the 7800X3D is similar to the 5800X3D, it has lower clock speed than the 7700X, but more cache.

The 7900X3D and 7950X3D are weirder, these CPUs have 2 clusters of cores each, they're reportedly going to have 1 cluster with lower clock speeds but more cache, and 1 cluster with the same clock speed and cache as the 7900X/7950X.

AMD is reportedly working with Microsoft to support this setup, to have games that prefer higher clock speeds primarily use the normal clusters, and to have games that prefer more cache primarily use the X3D clusters, but I wonder how this is going to work out in practice.

Personally I was already aiming for the 7800X3D even before the announcements, but this experimental setup solidified my choice. Though I'm probably only gonna upgrade around easter (where I'll take a few days off), since I likely wouldn't have time to handle the upgrade and reinstall stuff until then.

Maybe a feature to more easily transfer files to other devices? (i.e. Steam Deck)

Edit: Nah, probably not, not with "event" in the name.

I'm really on the fence with Hitman 3.

Already own H1 GOTY and H2 Gold which means all DLC for the first two releases.

I've put 50 hours into H1 but barely touched H2 for whatever reason.

So in the end I'd be purchasing Hitman 3 base at -65% just to fold all three titles in together under the World of Assassination banner.

$21 USD isn't too bad but man I hate FOMO sales tactics, i.e. I have no idea how WoA umbrella integration for all 3 titles will happen after it goes live.

Oh well. I've always been a sucker for Hitman going all the way back to Hitman 2 on OG Xbox.

Is there some deal that gets you all three hitmans with CYC? I don't see it on the store.
They haven't change the game yet, so there is no CYC. If you got H1 and H2 and want H3 I suggest that you buy it now, since it's on sale and the base price is cheaper than the price increase after the change.
If you don't have any of the previous games, you will still get them as free content.

no one reads my posts :notlikethisblob:
Excuse me, but who are you?

Jokes aside, I did check if you posted them, but I guess I didn't check hard enough :p

I already have H1 (minute patient zero)... So what should I do?
Just buy Hitman 3. After 26 January you will get Hitman 2 for free, but without the Gold content.
You can get Gold content from the new Deluxe content upgrade
Or maybe get H2 expansion pass now when it's discounted.. do you need to have H2 base to buy it?

I mean World of Ass triggers free H2 for H3 owners but I am not sure can you just buy the H2 expansion pass without the base H2.
Those two together as H3 DLC are ~21€ Save 72% on HITMAN 3 Access Pass: HITMAN 2 Gold on Steam

Perhaps cheapest (and safest) is just to buy H2 Gold ~11€ from indiegala or do as Deku pointed if those DLCs are around 10€ per piece after World of Ass migration date.

Bought Dragon Quest XI and going to restart it for a third time! Played it on the switch, quite a bit! But sold my switch, then played it on game pass and again quite a bit! I still have the save file... but realised that it will mess up achievements on steam so I need to restart.T_T
I actually 100%ed the original on Steam surprisingly, it's a fun game, I'm not gonna replay the switch port, that game is long AF.

Is it difficult to complete 100%?
