EA is weird with game support, like, they just launch some patches and call the day, it is weird as hell
It really is. But based on comments from those who are playing Apex this is basically standard behavior for Respawn. They communicate nothing and take their time to release updates.

I spent the morning installing and patching Bloodline, Arcanum and Fallout.
Downloaded their long ass manuals.
Now to find no spoiler guides with the right amount of info about the available quests and different endings. But yeah, I’m wary of exhaustive insert ungodly number of pages guides.

Saw some local stores here are selling ROG Ally. Managed to hold a display unit and it is surprisingly light. Screen is also very good and bright. But I don't need any new consoles now so bye :face-with-stuck-out-tongue-and-winking-eye:

I did get the Starfield controller though. Pure sex.

Last Jedi Survivor Patch was month ago and it was PC only patch. Last console patch was month and a half ago. Since then EA acknowledged issue with bounties and even that was 3 weeks ago. They are just posting some character trivia on social media and replying to angry customers with "please be patient". Respawn doesn't even talk about game on social media. It really is sad how amazing game can be ruined by technical issues and lack of communication from the developer/publisher.
They really need to fix crashes on Jedha when RT is enabled.

So at around 15 hrs in and I'm starting to explore the 3rd floor in System Shock.

Over that time I've went from just letting junk sit there to now hoovering up everything that isn't nailed down and breaking it down for the recycling monies.

I'm getting into that same mode I did with Fallout 4 where junk loot collection becomes a sort of therapeutic hide & seek game onto itself. A side activity that shouldn't be a side activity but somehow is.

Nice knowing you guys.

Its crazy both Persona 3 remake and Metaphor skipping the Switch install base. Meanwhile SMTV and P5R is available on the Switch.

Atlus continues to never make sense.

Also that is more and more killer apps for the Deck :coffee-blob:

Last time the Ports were announced in a direct sometime after all other platforms had been announced. Now If they do it this time is anyone's guess.

Shin Megami Tensei V ran like butt on Switch and it uses Unreal Engine just like P3R. Metaphor is current gen only and the trailer showed it's currently not running well on the Xbox Series (but there is plenty of time to improve performance so that's kind of moot).

I doubt the decision makers at Atlus have any sort of beef against Nintendo, but their hardware is so old it probably isn't worth the headache. Maybe Nintendo should go ahead and announce their next console. :shrugblob:

Edit: I was wrong about Metaphor being current gen only. A hypothetical Switch 2 should be able to run it. Regardless, go ahead and announce your next console Nintendo!

Remaster of Star Ocean 2, though, the odds of this coming to pc are pretty low, the remaster of the first didn't come to PC (released for PS4 and Switch in 2019). :/
Square back then was skipping PC quite often with their lower-profile multiplatform releases (Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon, Crystal Chronicles, Last Remnant Remaster, the Star Ocean you mentioned) which isn't really the case anymore (Theatrhythm is an exception, first in like 3 years).

Chocobo GP, Foamstars, Dragon Quest Treasures, though there was a recent rumour about this last one coming to other platforms?
None of that is multiplatform (Foamstars technically is but not what I mean in this case). And yes, DQ Treasures was already rated for PC in Korea.

This being Square Enix, watch this one launch day one on Steam but the first one never coming at all. :upside-down-face:

This series in particular is weirdly inconsistent. One of the more recent ones still hasn't come. The one with the mouthful of a title.

Right. Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness.

Sounds like it was shit, so no big loss I suppose but the inconsistency is kind of annoying.

unrelated edit: oooh, TLoU Part 1 got trading cards! Just got 5 straight to my inventory.

They could still port both the remaster of the first one, and this second one to PC. But yeah, I'm not holding my breath either. I already played the first game twice, and the second game once, so not too keen on that one, and yeah, I heard not great things about the Integrity one.

I am interested in the most recent one, though, that one looks to be fun.

I'm amazed how Microsoft pay for just few days exclusive console embargo. Really what's the point? O _o
They want to hijack the news cycle.

I bet you there’s lots more news pieces that say “game xyz is coming to Xbox” versus the number of articles about the other versions a few days later.

It’s all about mindshare and gets you thinking about Xbox as the news trickles out.

For the same reason the Super Bowl half time show is called the 'Pepsi / Apple Music HalfTime Show', it gets eyes on the brand.

All things considered, I vastly prefer Microsoft paying to delay other platform announcements for a few days over Sony paying to actually keep the game off other platforms for a few months/years. The former is fairly harmless as far as I'm concerned, especially now that we know they're doing it lol.

Waste a morning installing old crpg

What about scanlines ?

Not sure I have it in me to reinstall everything in the Gog version to use DOSBox SVN Daum (which I have zero idea how to use anymore) or try to use ReShade (which I never used).

Most third party games are already heavily associated with Playstation, and that's always been because Sony pays for a lot of exclusive third party content and marketing, so MS paying for a couple of days of the initial news cycle to point towards their socials is a smaller version of the same thing.

Certainly not on the level of something like long term exclusivity or platform obscurity, like Kingdom hearts.

There is also the recent Scanlines for Windows on itch. Not sure if it’s good.
Why, yes, I’m talking to myself.

Honestly don't get why MS haven't just copied Sony completely and paid for marketing and timed third party exclusives for big games

They can afford it
Last time they did, they got a ton of shit (the second modern Tomb Raider, I think).
Sony gets a pass because reasons.

Playstation has been so ubiquitous for decades now, people feel like PS will always have the god given right to every third party game out there. It's definitely not a fight MS want anymore. The amount of users it brings is smaller than the amount of people out there outraged at something like that.

In an ideal world, nothing would ever be exclusive of course. PC is the closest thing to that world.

To be fair, I don't think Sony pays for every single third-party exclusive out there. I think some of them are probably de facto exclusives in the same way a lot of games are de facto Steam exclusives on PC. Like, I don't believe that Sony has ever actually paid for games like Yakuza and Persona. It was probably just a legacy thing where these were always Playstation exclusives because that's where the audience for those games was years ago. Final Fantasy, though, that's another story. I don't think even S-E is stupid enough not to release that on multiple platforms unless they were paid off.

They're fucking idiots. It's easy to do it and every fucking time they choose not to.

Fuck Ubisoft.

Looking forward to watching the vtuber streams.
I will do the same but with my favorite cosplayer xD, she always plays the new Chilla's Art game, she wasn't able to play the last one -cause fear- and called another streamer friend to help her.
That said , Chilla's Art games are usually -very- cheap, it's worth supporting them, I think they are just a couple of brothers and as experiences for a while they are very entertaining -and "scary"- games.

I've also read somewhere that supposedly YouTube is an important factor in this. PS channel has many more subs, so if trailers go out at the same time, Sony just steals the show and always shows up first in searches. If MS delays this by a few days, their trailers gain enough views in that period to become top searches instead. Don't know how credibly that is, though.

I had plans to play starfield on my series x with gamepass but DF today said it was rendering at 1296p (then upscaled). You really can't do better than 1300/30 on a series X bethesda? And lets be real that's not gonna be a locked 30fps either. I really really do not want to use that malware they call a PC app...

They tried with tomb raider and the result was so catastrophic it basically began a slow death of the tomb raider IP (in gaming). Rise underperformed even as it went to other platforms then shadow just outright bombed.

They made a big deal convincing SE to bring FF multiplat which I'm sure meant money was thrown around, and the result was like a 90/10 ratio in PS' favor.

They do have marketing deals like with Diablo 4 most recently but that's about all that makes sense for them to do. There's no reason to pay tens of millions for a timed exclusive that's most likely going to backfire on them. PS is just way too big to make these 3rd parties skip.

Even if that's the case it doesn't seem to be working. The other day I saw someone say the new atlus game had about 100k views on the xbox channel and 400k+ on atlus' channel lol.

edit: Just checked myself and it's 185k on Xbox and 427k on Atlus. This is probably an audience issue, the Xbox audience historicaly does not care about JP games and fans of those games are already trained to look on other sources.
