The Epic Games Store still isn’t profitable.
We knew the company was spending millions to give away free games every week, but we’d heard it was a bit of a money sink despite not actually paying for each and every copy given away.

In case you’re keeping track, Epic Games Store boss Steve Allison says on the witness stand his store isn’t profitable yet. The goal is still growth, he says. Emails revealed during the Epic v. Apple trial suggested the company was hoping to claim half of all PC gaming revenue.

How much are you paying for these and do you want anything I have? UT2004, Icewind Dale, Doom 3, Planescape Torment, Wasteland 2, Battlefield 2, smaller DVD boxes like Dragon Age Origins shrink wrapped and Oblivion?
Tiberian Sun and the expansion was £14, Daikatana was £25.

I have what I want from that list.

I'm currently playing The Talos Principle and some areas give me a bit of Myst vibes and I'm really digging it, overall the game has a superb atmosphere and the music is top notch.

Light spoilers bellow.

If you played the first game part of the atmosphere was being alone while solving puzzles, you only had ELOHIM and Milton to make company. In the sequel you are taking part in an expedition to a mysterious island following a strange aparition after your birth.

So far the mystery has been engaging and I'm curious to see where it's going. Your group have different opinions and visions about their society and they all make good arguments to support their instance.

Apparently Epic Games Store head Steve Allison said under oath, years ago, that he believes Epic’s fee for its store is for access to Epic’s audience, not just for payment processing.

Google pounced on that. Steam charges a higher revshare for its larger audience and larger collection of games, doesn’t it? Google Play has a larger audience, and more games, so shouldn’t it deserve a higher revshare? Shouldn’t Google deserve money for more than payment processing?

Allison found a way through it, but Google may have made its point.
When thing you said years ago comes to bite you at the ass XD

Epic never ever had a case against Google, not with their far more open philosophy compared to Apple. Just a complete waste of money. Which is especially dumb given how much money the company is already bleeding, to the point of having to fire people. If I was Tencent, I'd really be worried about the bullshit Tim Epic is doing to the company that I owe a major stake in.

Hey, for anyone playing Jusant, is there any freedom in the climbing or is the route you climb predetermined? That's something I've been wondering about since the reveal.

Phil Spencer echoing what Valve has said about PC gaming growth in Japan.

I'm surprised it escaped the marketing black hole so quickly. AFAIK it was a massive flop on every platform and had a 40% discount about two months after release.
Looks like the Famitsu article got taken down.
Era moderation is just awful.
What did they do now?

PSO2 NGS players are reporting that the implementation of the xigncode 3 anticheat that was added to NGS is not as intrusive as how it was implemented in other games, some are reporting that it may be less intrusive than the previous anticheat (gameguard), and a few even had a boost in performance (though seems like a few got worse performance, I guess it depends on case by case).
(I'm still not going to re-install the game though, I probably won't play it again unless there's a major change in direction when it comes to content updates).

So i got a Netgear Nighthawk RAXE300 Wifi 6E router and hooked up my "old" asus wifi 6 router to my laptop.
finally my in house steam streaming setup is lag free. zero framedrops or network congestion.
Crystal sharp image when using Parsec. Moonlight work good as well though i need to do some tweaking.

The wifi antenna in my laptop is not the best but my network problem is now sorted.
I plan to buy a desktop pc next year probably and will be sure to get a good network card with external antenna.

I posted some photos from Paris Games Week on my blog if someone is interested. (not sure how to directly show the content on here)

It must have been scary being that close to Mario and Luigi, one wrong move and well you have seen what Mario can do to Bowser.

Also that line that you were not sure about seem like it has to do with the Five Nights at Freddy's Movie (cinema)

Luigi did look at me with his usual suspicious look!

Think you are right about the movie, but it looked so small! Can't imagine they showed the whole movie.

To be fair, I looked more into the article and what was said. They did have a point when they said that because of fortnite that they could do what Counter Strike did for Valve with Steam. They even said that if they launched a game store similar to Steam that they could get 20-30% of the PC market almost instantaneous because of just how popular fornite was at the time (2018/2019, fortnite was insanely popular)

How ever their biggest mistake was assuming that they could ever achieve more than 20-30% of PC revenue. So they didn't really grow at all. Most likely their plan was, hey this is how much we are making now off fornite alone, but if we spend a lot more money we can eventually make a profit once we gain an additional 30-20% of the PC gaming market. Sadly that never happened and if anything they had less money now because fornite (while it is still popular), is not nearly as popular as it once was.

Just another launcher
I do believe that this is one of the things that Alex did mention that he didn't like about EGS for some time now. He mentioned it during one of the weekly Direct Weeklys that he does with DF. I think John was also saying the same thing about how you do have an issue were you click on the button to launch a game and some time may pass and you can only hope that the button click registered and that it will open up the game, otherwise you will just be waiting there and seeing it it even did anything.

Also there are likely those individuals that would say something like, well just click the desktop and open up the game that way. But if you did you would miss out on all the features that you would get with opening it from a launcher (even if you did just add it to Steam as a non Steam game.

It's possible that it was just small clips of the movie, and also props and stuff that they have there so that people can take pictures and stuff.

How come I still see people bitching on Ubisoft for Prince of Persia 2008 ending sold as DLC while I ony hear praises for Alan Wake 2? This game ending is a low-key scam with its story DLCs sold even before release, good thing I haven't paid shit for it. Once again fuck Epic and fuck Remedy too.

Ubisoft got shit for Prince of Persia because they didn’t release it on PC for “piracy reasons” and the epilogue itself got shit because it ruined a memorable bold ending in favour of making something more by the numbers and safe, retroactively ruining the impact of the base game. It was a total shit show lol

I wonder what the sales numbers for alan wake 2 is, i feel like if they were amazing, they would had said so already, but idk.
Been just two weeks. I would expect Remedy or Epic to talk about it at end of this month or during the end of fiscal year, which is early next year. Probably Epic, I imagine Remedy isn't free to share this data without the pubs approval
