Will be removed and replaced with the anniversary edition. Free upgrade for existing users. Maybe last chance to buy the soundtrack on steam as well.
Taken from reddit which is taken from the official website

Here's what is new:

  • The Killer Instinct Base Game will be FREE TO PLAY on all platforms: Xbox consoles (One, Series X|S), Windows PC, and Steam
  • The free KI base game will feature one free weekly rotating Fighter and Single-Player, Local, and Ranked modes.
  • The Killer Instinct Anniversary Edition ($29.99 USD) will include all 29 Fighters, and all Premium Content ever released: the VIP Double XP Booster, holiday accessories, and more.
On Xbox consoles and Windows PC:

  • Killer Instinct Definitive Edition will be retired from the store and replaced by Killer Instinct Anniversary Edition. All purchased Definitive Editions will be upgraded to the Anniversary Edition for free.
The following Mature-rated content included in KI Definitive Edition will NOT be included in the Anniversary Edition:

  • Definitive Edition App (featuring developer interviews, concept art, Killer Cuts soundtrack)
  • Xbox KI Classic 1 & 2
  • But DON’T WORRY! If you already own Killer Instinct Definitive Edition digitally, you will still be able to download the above content even after the Definitive Edition is retired
On Steam:

I prefer not to comment on politics because on here and resetera, people make thread etc etc but ultimately we are a small minority. People of the country voted him in (I know not majority, but you know what I mean).

Same thing happened when Turkish elections were going on.

It is what it is.

Close to reaching the point of MGS1 when you have choose who to save :(

Really want to save Meryl but I don't want to break my Steam Deck by jamming buttons too hard lol. Too much risk.

Speaking of MGS1 on Deck...the audio is so good. MGS1 has always been iconic with its sound production and with the Deck speakers on full blast its so amazing. Every little codec beep and click. Every little in-game sound effect. The voice work from all the characters. Its giving me goosebumps.

I've said it many times now but the work Valve did with the speakers/sound quality is superb.

Crazy how a 1998 game on a handheld in 2023 can be so immersive. It kind of doesn't make sense tbh. The game really was a Quadruple-A title for its time. It was impossible to truly appreciate when I played it as a 10 year old. Kojima and his team were so ahead of their time.

4 years later after pestering them on twitter Retro-bit finally resolved my faulty Saturn USB controllers by sending me 2 new ones. Better late than never but I had bought a Fighting Commander that's worked great since after the last time they stopped responding to me after promising they'll send me parts to fix it.

Now to decide which to use and which to keep boxed. I'm partial to the all black one as that's what I had back in the day, I dunno about those colored buttons...
Oh, I didn't realize the colored buttons one has a see through shell until I unboxed it. I probably should have kept that boxed in case of resell value later. It's cool.

More pickups:

Lies of P | Blood And Zombies | Subway Midnight | No Straight Roads: Encore Edition | Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX | Anuchard | Dark Deity | Neon Blight | Karma City Police | RIOT: Civil Unrest | Chants of Sennaar | Dordogne

Wasn't suppose to buy everything there, but Dark Deity and No Straight Roads was cheaper when bought together with those other games.

and AC Mirage on Ubi. Btw, the Ubi launcher fucking sucks. I was buying the game with 100 gold coins to get the 20% off coupon, but the launcher screen went black at the bank accept window, so the purchase didn't go through, but I lost the 100 gold coins. So I had to buy the game in the browser instead, so I had to use another 100 gold coins. Very angry about it.

I was curious about something so I had to look up stuff about anime conventions, outside of Japan the biggest anime convention is Anime Expo which is held in LA, where more than 350k people will gather over the course of the convention. Apart from that one of the other large ones is Japan Expo in Paris France. That one averages to around 250k people. Okay so one one of them has over 100k more people going to it than the other what other differences are there? Well anime expo tickets are now close to $100USD!!!!!!! meanwhile Japan Expo tickets are closer to $35USD!!!!!!!

By the way do any of you guys go to video game conventions are something similar, at anime conventions you will sometimes have people like Bandai that will set up demos for their games and stuff, they will sometimes even revel some games at some of those shows. Stuff like PAX does seem pretty cool because of the indie games. E3 is now officially dead, otherwise that would have been cool to have gone just once, even though its not the same as it use to be,

I'm not jealous at all.

I havent bought anything on the sale yet; I keep adding stuff to the cart and then end up changing my mind; probably just means I dont really want/need those games; or any new games right now, I guess.
I tried some Diablo 4 since they have the Free Week; but I really, really dont like the click-to-move controls inherent to ARPGs (I recall there are some WASD-based ones, though). I should try it on Deck, maybe it plays better with a controller. I just tried it on Deck, its so much better with direct control, and that was, actually a lot of fun. Hmmm. Might consider that after playing some more of the Free Week. Gotta o use my Steam Controller for it.

I’m really fed up with PC gaming right now.
Want to play Forza —can’t, port is shit
Want to play CoD — can’t, port is shit
Want to play F1 with my PS5 controller - can’t, doesn’t work properly
Well at least you're making me not miss PC gaming and I can now put my dreams of building a new PC to rest.:coffee-blob:

So how are the Judgment games connected to the Like A Dragon games? Ive been meaning to get them since people seem to love them.
They're set in the same world/city, but seems like there's no direct connection other than that.
I would expect there to be some cameos, but it's otherwise meant to tell a story from the perspective of a detective instead of playing as a former Yakuza like Kiryu. In terms of chronology, the first Judgment is set after Yakuza 6, and the second one after Yakuza: Like A Dragon, though given that it's essentially it's own series it should be fine to play it in any order.

I have been to Gamescom in Cologne Germany (2016. 2018 and 2019 I believe) a few times before Covid hit. It's a bit more PC orientated and good fun. Was quite bussy from time to time, especially during the weekends. Thursday was generally ok. They have all kinds of halls with stuff available like merch, anime, cosplay etc. You sometimes have to wait an hour before you can demo something at a booth. Seeing you are from California it's not really in your neck of the woods but I have heard some good stuff about PAX.

Yakuza Gaiden is the only game so far referencing Judgement, but that's only for a sidequest.

Tho i'm certainly expecting Yakuza 9 or something to eventually tie the two series together eventually.

That said Lost Judgement has the best story in the entire Yakuza series anyways so that one's extremey worth playing

I grabbed The Talos Principle 2, Gravity Circuit, Cyber Shadow, and Touhou Artificial Dream in Arcadia.

I also bought Super Mario RPG and a new PS5 controller on sale since my old one's left trigger isn't working properly and I don't trust myself to properly fix it and trust me I've tried before with a busted PS3 controller and a PS4 controller. No wonder I don't like Playstation, their controllers always give me trouble.

Ditto, and in turn I have an unfortunate confession to make, I think my next PC will be a Mac

My PS5, Switch and Steam Deck cover 99% of what I wanna play :shrugblob: (and I have a Series S for the once in a blue moon exclusive it has (ok seriously I'd trade this thing in if it wasn't that the trade in value is so poor))

Indie/AA games is all you need and PC has the vastest library of those.

AAA publishers can fuck off.
Another reason why I don't feel the need for a high end PC
Steam Deck will play most of what I want to play :p
