If it's a problem devs can just, not go on there, ask them to not nominate them and so on, if they really feel some things are amiss and wrong. Just like E3. Of course it's all about the money, they know people are there for the reveals and that those that are there alongside them for any reason will be getting some additional free advertising by just being there. And as for reveals you could cut, I mean, some of them are probably paying to be there (not the big names that generate buzz on their own I suppose, so they aren't going to cut them, same for any ads, they aren't gonna cut them after they've shceduled everything with them included). BG3 is a huge success, why even go there if like many of us they believe that it's not a legitimate awards show but a PR event that just happens to be games themed and not to the interest of gaming but to the interest of those that choose to get involved in any way? They'd probably get more word of mouth by announcing they don't want to be nominated and dedicating their success, sans award, wherever they want. Oh right, they do want to be part of the PR event, they do want to make more money thanks to it rather than go to some boring GDC-like talk show nobody other than other game developers will attend, so here we are, they feed Geoff and Geoff feeds them and that's the show. Dude got famous over roasting Reggie with stupid Nintendo Wii is teh kiddy weak sauce and teh suck stuff, never thought he had anything interesting to say about gaming. That's what people want, bullshit pretending to be Hollywood (another can of worms). And they so want to be Hollywood and write the awards and stars and stripes in their bios and everything. It's their own creation tbh.

It has everything to do with the message because the criticisms I was talking about (like a ton of tweets I've seen on Twitter) were implying that the message was shown purposely at that specific moment which is distorting what really happened.
Obviously the time for the speeches was ridiculously short, but that's not what I was talking about, obviously.

If you're looking for a short and sweet turn based rpg, I highly recommend it. Lovely pixel art, great music and a very charismatic protagonist. Also, every rpg should give you the ability to control the frequency of random encounters at will.

The majority of the comments DIDN'T imply that the game awards made the message exactly at the moment where Sven wanted to pay respect to one of his dead devs, they dunked on the game awards because the time allotted for a speech was criminally short.
And the video doesn't show anything different or tries to imply what you read out of it. It shows the countdown, and it shows the wrap it up when sven talks about the dead dev in his short speech. Because the countdown was over.

This game and how difficult it is to quit is giving me flashbacks of my old boss who “refused” my two weeks notice and on my first day of not working for him, he sent me texts asking where I was, and continued to harass me for a couple of months, going as far as sending HMRC blank payslips with £0.00 earnings so it’d fuck up my tax code in my new job because my old one wasn’t closed with a P45. Had to go to ACAS just to get him to comply with the law.

While playing Jack Move I kept thinking about how nice it must look on the OLED Deck. And it's so suited to be played on a portable. Man, I wish I could afford one of the damn things.
I think its funny people complain this year about people not talking long enough after complaining about people talking too much last year.
I think everyone can agree Keighley needs to cut off at least an hour off the show. Its just too long. The fact that the TNF twitch game started and ended in-between the game awards is insane. No award show should ever run longer than an NFL game.

That really is an awesome bundle (of which I've already played 5/7 games, 3 of those on the Deck).
If there's anyone out there who likes Metroidvanias but hasn't got at least half of those games I highly recommend it.
One nitpick: Rain World really isn't a Metroidvania. It's a very unique game though.

Exodus could be so much more but it looks like they're doing knock-off Mass Effect instead. The last time I enjoyed space-induced time dilation as a story point was Gunbuster from Gainax in 1989.

Unless they make a DLC specifically for the PC release, to which I say no thanks. Just get it on to PC as soon as possible.
It’s massively improved. I replayed it earlier this year and I’m playing it now for Phantom Liberty, and the difference between 2020 to earlier this year, then earlier this year to 2.0 Phantom Liberty is massive on both accounts.
Far fewer bugs, better performance, reworked stat system, the game world feels less ‘static’, and the promised metro system now works to name a few improvements.
It’s the game CDPR promised and hyped years ago.

I did a full replay of the original game - haven’t even got to the PL content yet, but I’m enjoying all new features in the main game and the rejigged progression system.
You could also load your old save and do PL from there, if you still have it.

The Steam Deck giveaway during the game awards was a disaster yet again. A lot of people were trying to enter the contest, but were either not able to because of how the site crashed for a while or had to wait more than two hours in a queue. The other big issue is that it asked you for a zip code, not ever country has a 5 digit zip code. I'm guessing that while Valve was giving out Steam Decks that they themselves were not the ones that actually set it up this year. I'm guessing that either the game awards set it up or something since I'm not sure that Valve has done something in the past with the giveaway. iO thing before. Lenovo was also using the same service as well but less people were using that one. It's also very likely possible that Valve was not anticipating that there would be this many people entering the contest and didn't for see the issue with the ZIP code since the contest was only available during a certain time period and both the game awards itself and Valve are based in the US were you only have 5 digit zip codes and didn't notice this issue prior.
As for Komodo. With the exception of Japan it seems that they were able to talk to a partner in Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong and have those places become the exclusive retailer that carries the device. Which in turn would make it easier to deal with issues.
Staring next week the OLED will officially be sold in stores across those regions that Komodo sells to in physical stores. This is great since more people can now see and experience the device in person. One of the questions that I was wondering about was what are they going to do with existing Steam Decks that those physical stores have, since I image that they would need to discount them in order for people to buy them, but then you have the whole thing with profit margins for everyone involved.

Assuming SE doesn't want their games to directly compete with each other, the PC version of XVI could be a summer/fall 2024 release while Rebirth could be winter/spring 2025. I'll go out on a limb and say they'll both be day 1 Steam launches with no exclusivity.
Just finished Inscryption, that was an unexpected ending
Finished Tormented Souls. Can easily recommend it to fans of old survival horror games. If you're worried about tank controls, the game has 2 control schemes and it actually defaults to the modern controls. Be warned that some puzzles are pretty obtuse, I had to look up a few of them on the net.
What a coincidence, I just started it yesterday! Fantastic atmosphere so far.
I really, really, really dislike the save system though. Tying saves to a limited consumable on top of already having limited save spots anyway is just fucking garbage design and I don't care that it's something the old games this one is inspired by did as well, it should have been left in the past.
Only saving grace is that there's a hidden debug menu where you can give yourself as many of those save-items as you want to bypass that bullshit.
I tried playing The Finals......and it keeps crashing on me. Oh well. Time to uninstall it. I tried the tutorial multiple times and it keeps crashing, I also tried to play 1 quick game and it also crashed. My specs meet the system requirements and all but it still crashed. If updating the graphics drivers don't do anything well that's it.
