I'm happy this is now public, and of course that it's coming to PC.
so i'm guessing it's not the one you've been working on? (or are still working on, i guess :p)

I was wondering what I was going to buy myself as a birthday present this year.
Thanks lashman!
you're welcome :)

Wowie, fast thread today! Sorry for the like spam everyone but I had like 4+ pages to catch up on and lots of good posts in-between! (y)
hey, that's what they're there for :p people can always turn notifications for likes off if they don't like them ;)

My best guess is that the publishers are not happy that the fixed 10 bucks discount leads to insane price reductions in cheaper regions. (Say it's 15$ in a poorer region and with the discount it would be 5$, which would be a 66% discount for a game that's not our for a quite a while!).
That's basically impossible for other stores to compete with and also devalues the game a lot, so they didn't want to take part in the sale.
And they're probably removed entirely because it wouldn't surprise me if Epic has no way to exclude individual games from the shop-wide discount, so they had to take down the game completely, lmao.
yeah, that's probably true ... Sergey says publishers and developers knew how the sale would work, but something tells me they forgot to mention the fact that $10 won't scale with regional pricing (like it did on steam during the Lunar Seal) ...

and yeah, their backend is DEFINITELY busted to the degree that they now have to completely remove those games from sale instead of just removing the discount ...

I don't want to bump that thread I made for Total War Three Kingdoms a few months ago so I'll just say in here that I'm glad the game seems to have turned out well after the delay. From what I can gather it seems like the battles are kind of more of the same but the diplomacy is extremely deep for a TW game, and that managing your empire can be a bit too mathematical or detailed (some used that as a negative but to me it sounds good and what I wanted).

The appeal of the old RotK games was mostly based on the lore and diplomacy stuff. So them matching or eclipsing those games while keeping the TW battles is more or less what I always asked for all those years ago.

Try using the Borderless Window mode and/or Frame drops :: A Plague Tale: Innocence Technical Support, game was hitting my 8700K hard and I go random stutters but changing to that helped a lot. Game still has some issues, I don't think it's badly optimized overall but there's something weird going on.
Nah, tried that and have updated my drivers now, but it's still maxing out my GPU even on low settings =/

It's about 70 degrees C now after newest drivers. At 100% use is this safe?

It's a travesty for any Wizardry game, even a distant cousin, not to be available on PC.
I wish at times Japan wasn't enamored with the original Wizardry Trilogy...
Imagine how much happier the world would be if they picked up the DRPG bug by starting with World of Xeen... Just imagine...

Based SEGA. Its refreshing to see a big publisher not treat the PC userbase like shit. But I guess when you have several PC exclusive IP's that rake in a ton of money you want to treat them like 1st class citizens.
With all their PC exclusive studios and them porting their japanese backlogs, it's truly amazing how SEGA has become a PC gaming powerhouse.
Who would have ever imagined that.

It's good to see how well it has been received so far and like you said some of the negatives aren't really a problem personally.

I don't sort my wishlish outside of the top 10 and TW Three Kingdoms has been at the top since the store page first appeared. So I suppose I'm a bit relieved that it's not going to be a complete train wreck at release that I have to put up with because I'm stubborn or stupid.. or both.

Yes, 70" is still okay for 100% load and modern cards will throttle themselves anyway before temps become damaging. If you're fine with the noise of the fans and temps don't go much higher don't worry. Also the game is only ~10hrs long anyway, it's not like you'll play that way for months.

Ended up picking up Surviving Mars on GMG. I played a lot of a few months back when they did a free weekend and really enjoyed it, but didn't grab it then. Time to add it to the summer games list.
Codemasters finally finished the FFB update for Dirt Rally 2. Looking forward to try it!

Tomorrow, they will also announce the content of Season 2 DLC.
I need to get this game. It would be awesome with my wheel. I'm also looking at getting the H shifter expansion for my wheel so I can have an authentic Euro Truck experience. :p

I hope Spark 2 is good and avoids some of the issues from the original game. I wanted to support the first game, but controller support was so broken it made the game unplayable. No exaggeration.

I just looked it up and SEGA owns:
  • Creative Assembly (Over 5oo employees according to wikipedia)
  • Amplitude Studios (Minimum 90 employees according to their linkedin)
  • Two Point Studio (20 Employees accoding to wikipedia)
  • Relic Entertainment (Minimum 236 employees according to linkedin)
  • Sports Interactive (115 Employees according to Wikipedia)
They are probably the biggest publisher of PC exclusive videogames nowadays.
Anyone know how many employees Paradox has dedicated to PC exclusives?

Tizoc That's an msi installer error confirming that your FF11 installation is so borked it's borked it's installation logs and can't uninstall properly. I suspect it's down to UAC and admin rights though.
I'd check the %TEMP% folder for both your user account and the admin account to see if there's a log file which will tell you what component is failing to uninstall.

Try finding the ff11 uninstall exe and running it as an admin, it might be there's some files in protected folders it needs to remove/repair?
Check the uninstall shortcut in the start menu to see if there a command line, elevate a cmd prompt and paste the command line in and see how that goes.

Give the nirsoft My Uninstaller app a go: Nirsoft - My Uninstaller
Hi there mate, if you don't mind helping out some more, I've used that software and this is the details of Playonline atm on my hdd. Originally the hdd I installed the game in was recognized as E drive, but after a while it read it as F drive which messed it up for me.
I changed it to what you see now but I still cannot uninstall it or repair it

Any suggestions on what to do next?

Wow, crazy day. So many sales and new games, I almost can't keep up! Plus Death End finally came out so I just picked that up. I'm behind on news today because I was getting ready/at a job interview for the city of Tampa. According to my buddy that works for them, it looks like I'm the only candidate they are interested in!

Off topic: Echo and BernadoOne, I sent you two friend invites on Steam

Wait, I thought it doesn't affect publishers/developers negatively at all?
The discount is insane in some countries compared to the base price because no scaling, I assume it's about perception and not ruining the market months before release.

It looks like more are pulling from the sale as well.
Oxygen Not Included is gone. Hilarious.

Creative Assembly is 500 people? Holy shit. Didn't realize they were that big

There's a sequel? Well I'll be, will read that review when I get home. Speed run fighter sounds interesting

Isnt the classic version on pc a bad port?

I think I finally got NieR Automata + FAR + (Official) ReShade to work together in peace. o_O
(Though really, I had to use the MH World branch of Special-K to really make this work.)

You'll say "but Echo, it's easier to just use FAR's built-in ReShade right?"

The answer is yes of course. But for some reason Kaldaien made it so ReShade triggers on/off depending if certain HUD elements are on or off. This led to ReShade turning itself on or off depending on your HUD/game situation which was driving me bonkers!

So if you can get the official ReShade to work right it will do it's job 100% of time. This has been quite a hassle though holy heck. But now that I can load into the game without crashes, it should just be a matter of making the darn pre-set how I want.

Can Valve, PLEASE, fix that every time you add a free DLC through the store it launches the game (or tries to download it, but that's not so bad)?
Yeah honestly, for free stuff on the store I would just like an "Add to library" button.

No. SEGA has added several patches and its a pretty solid port nowadays.

I love reading the negative Steam reviews from salty people who suck at the puzzles though. Like man I was 12 when this game came out and I found it to be super easy so the reviews are a gold mine to me.

Death Re; Quest seems interesting but since it's published by idea factory I expect it to drop in price soon.
For example neptunia 4 goddesses (I think it's one of the last nep releases) was out on 27 feb 2018 and on the 6th of november was like 12€

Don't want to take away your time, but if it's super short (like a few minutes top), can you provide some instructions for the best Automata setup?

Otherwise ignore

They've patched it a few times. It's better now but not perfect. Game logic tied to 30 fps seems the most stumbling block.
Catherine Classic :: Patch v1.3 drops now. Edge!

A for effort at least, unlike Nier.

Well im selling my ps3 version then and I'll pick it up during a sale. Those initials reviews were enough to make me cautious.

This guide here to start:

Followed by the HD (4k!) texture pack.

And if you wish to use Official ReShade over the one FAR comes with...

(Refer to Aemony's post here).

Other than that, just hope and pray you have a powerful enough rig to steam through the turbulence. Legendary game, but terrible mess of a port sadly.

We have launched out Steam page!

To celebrate, we've put together a new version of the Kickstarter video, featuring all the visuals improvements we've achieved since the launch of the campaign. Judging by the noticeable progress compared to the original trailer, it's hard to believe that we managed to pull it off in just two years

Tizoc No problem. Hopefully i can help a bit more.
Yeah, If the drive has changed letters then there's almost certainly a path issue in one of the uninstaller config files or registry keys.
:thinking-face:

Before we try fixing the uninstall error, is the issue that FFXI doesn't work since the drive letter change so you want to uninstall then reinstall?
If FFXI is still installed and just broken we can check if the drive letter change has broken the install.
Check the registry entries for the game to see if the paths are correct for your installation. I think they'd be somewhere like "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > WOW6432Node > Playonline ( EU or US ) > InstallFolder " according to reddit.
Check "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE" or "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > WOW6432Node" for Square Enix keys and check those too.

Try reinstalling the DirectX 9.0c runtimes then run FFXI, it's a long shot but it's fixed things for me before and apparently POL uses it.

Also, what AV do you use? Check the AV logs to see if it's been interfering with the uninstall attempts? Stranger things have happened.

Repairing or updating the Windows Installer can help but it's unlikely in my experience as other apps would fail to uninstall too and you'd notice it.

If that fails we can try to troubleshoot the uninstall failure.
Can you check the file/folder mentioned in "Uninstall String" actually exists?
Can you also check the "Install Source" folder value, it looks like "F:\SteamLibrary\blah\FINAL FANTASYXI\e:" in the image but i suspect it reads "F:\SteamLibrary\blah\FINAL FANTASYXI\exe\". If it does say "e:\SteamLibrary\..." on the end then there's your corrupt string. Fix that and you should be ok to go again.

If we're not that lucky then on Windows 10 i would do this:
In Task Manager, Select the Details tab, right-click Name and choose "Select Columns", scroll down and tick "Command Line".
Click the new "Command line" column and see if there's anything related to PlayOnline or Final Fanasty XI running. If so exit the app/kill the process
and try the uninstall again.

or this:
Win+Q, type cmd, right-click the result and select "Runas Administrator" so we have a console with admin rights.
Quick thought... type "cd %TEMP%" and you should be in the admin temp folder, "Dir /O: D" to list files by date, if there's a folder dated when you tried to uninstall the app have a look and see if there's any log files that are relevant. Probably not but you never know.

Copy the "Uninstall String:" value and paste it into notepad. We're going to run the InstallShield Uninstaller and get it to generate an extra log file.
Code:
The uninstall string will be something like:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\InstallShield Installation Information\{964575C3-5820-4642-A89A-754255B5EFE1}\setup.exe" -runfromtemp -l0x0409 -removeonly
Try pasting your uninstall string into the admin console to run it and see what errors pop up. If it runs the installer and it fails check the %TEMP% folder as it's hopefully genrated a log folder/file.

Change PathToLog to somewhere easy to get to so it's easy to check the log file and paste this into the console:
YourUninstallString /debuglog"PathToLog\RemovePlayOnlineexe.log"
Then check "PathToLog\RemovePlayOnlineexe.log" in notepad to see if there's an obvious error.

If they are sneaky and have used an msi then that log may be useless, try this:
YourUninstallString /V"/L*v PathToLog\RemovePlayOnlineMSI.log"
Then check "PathToLog\RemovePlayOnlineMSI.log" in notepad to see if there's an obvious error.
I'm trying to be professional and get this app uninstalled nicely before we go YOLO and delete the files and folders and registry keys involved. :D

Hopefully something simple worked and we're gold or we get some error messages from InstallShield and we can go from there. I don't have any SE InstallShield apps installed or i'd play about with them myself and see what info i could dig out to help.
