i couldn't even if i wanted to :p i only have a PC :smart-thinking-blob:
Well that statement was more in regards to MS store :p. Lots of dumb defenders said for years that "you should buy it on MS store because it will never ever come to Steam, just accept it already!"
Turns out not throwing cash at everything that moves and being vocal about your issues about certain stores works! Who knew?

Also
"Further, Microsoft is working on a specific PC Gaming app called Garrison, that will be used to help orchestrate the GamePass experience across multiple devices/stores."

If these maniacs actually get Gamepass on Steam I'll actually become a Gamepass subscriber.

if it makes you feel better - you're only 45 posts away - that's how many i do on a bad day :p lol
you need 197 more posts
Discrimination!!! I mean... I get that given the nature of this forum you have to be strict about full member status, but you don't have to rub our noses in it by posting restricted links... that's just rude :(

And in other news no one cares about. I ended replaying Mirror's Edge Catalyst these days. The movement is so good (assuming you can get Frostbite to stop stuttering) but man that game suffers from open world bloat. Kind of annoying seeing the same section over and over while doing the "events".

Going to get a couple of tycoons in this GOG sale, Railroad Tycoon 3 and Theme Park mostly. I'm not sure if I have SimCity 3K on Origin, so I should buy it too. Great sale from what I'm seeing!

too late - already confirmed egsclusive ;)
You know you must be doing something wrong when you can't get a guy like me, who is a massive fan of the Ghostbusters franchise, who saw the first film 36 times in the cinema (and the second one 12 times; the latest one I saw once, and it was enough :grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes:), who owns the films and animation series in pretty much all formats, shapes and sizes, who owns the various video games in almost every format you can think of (including, for this particular one, the PC version, the Xbox 360 version, and the Wii version), to buy a Ghostbusters videogame from your store.

Yes: not even Ghostbusters will make me use the EGS! Not even if it was free! :p
Suck it, Tim! :grimacing-face:

it's just a shitty situation all around ... because you know there would've been some kind of a discount for owners of the original version if they released it on steam ....

I wouldn't even need a discount: a remaster of the original game would be pretty much a guaranteed day one purchase for me, no matter the price.
But on the EGS? Forget it.

I'm a "fanatical" Ghosthead, and I already have two different versions of the upcoming BD+UHD 35th Anniversary boxsets pre-ordered.
But even I have my limits. ;)

tbh i dont give a shit but in the document (that i read twice now) i couldn't find an answer to his question.
in the terms and conditions it is stated that it is the way it is. not whats the point of it. and tbh i don't see a point.
just posting to get postings? maybe i don't want to spam the forum with my mindshit thats not important or intelligent? If i want to say something i do but yeah, i don't see a point (but I really don't care either! if i would care i would spam happy birthdays to everyone and would be non junior in a few days!)

lashman will correct me if I'm wrong, but the "limitation" is either for a certain number of points, or being a member for a certain number of months.
I believe this (limiting the privileges of new-ish members) is done because, as soon as you reach full member status, you can start send warnings and reports on fellow members, which result in automatic bans after a few ones are issued (we had our first one recently).
Unfortunately, I would guess this is needed to prevent abuse.

Maybe the number of posts limit can be decreased?

Again, lashman may clarify this?
I'm just a fellow forum member like you, so I don't know shit. :p

But, I do not think this is done as a way of making anyone feel unwelcome, or create two tiers of users.

Maybe something can be done about this, to prevent people feeling "left out" on some questions?

Oh crap... maybe I shouldn't have complained about the restricted link in jest... but I'm going to point the finger at lashman and say it's all his fault :p

It's both, Since I for example have more than 3 months but not 300 posts and can't access the link (or profiles pages).

Because otherwise trolls would create inactive accounts and just wait the three months to start annoying people. The 300 post count is a little high for they way I post (and maybe for the current traffic this forum gets) but as I said before, in this forum it really needs to exists.

Made they're better ways, but I think any solution will always have some drawbacks.

i do believe that's the case, yes .... i think there's just a lot of power that comes with a full member status that could be easily abused if someone could just wait 3 months (or whatever) to get that status, without posting anything ... or, alternatively, they could just post some vaguely informative stuff and get 300 posts immediately (i personally get like 300 posts in like 2 days) ... that's probably why it's both

plus - i don't think anything ESSENTIAL is locked behind being a full member ... or at least nothing that would make the forum completely unusable (or even mildly annoying) for anyone that isn't one

nah it wasn't your post, it was the link lash posted to the tos where the point wasn't explained. and you all explained it, afraid that trolls would troll. but, isn't the feature why you are restricted to be jr also capable of getting rid of any trolls if there would be any? (and if someone really takes the time to make an account with a non free email and then wait 3 months and then remembers to troll, he earned it tbh ;)

I'll just continue to post about this to get to 300 ;)
(really, despite posting about it, i really don't care, no need to change anything)

The only thing I would call "mildly annoying" is not being able to see profile pages when I click on the user avatar, specially since a lot of the information is already on the pull-down menu, and that just because it gets in the way of navigating the pages. But it certainly isn't crippling.

The one suggestion I could give is that in general is better to let people see but not interact, that way they can actually look at what they are missing instead of feeling "left out". But I don't know how the forum software manages permissions.

I never underestimate the lengths people go to annoy others :p

But hey, this discussion has already helped me get a little close to the 300 number... so.. yay! :)

My two cents: maybe the number of posts needed to become a full member might be lowered to something more accessible to all different ways of using a forum. A lot of people, myself included, tend to only post when they think they have something to say that people may find nice or informative, while others tend to post what's on their mind without thinking twice. Both ways are fine but it's obvious that the first group of people will need a lot more time to reach 300 posts, despite being active on the forum on a daily basis. Of course the 3 month limit should stay.

Yeah, it sucks :/ I'm hesitant to put money on Bnet because I've had three break in attempts on my account. If I hadnt had 2FA in place it would have been a mess.
makes it all the easier for me tbh ... i just won't buy it (again) ... i can live with that

As one of those weirdos that likes single-player games I always just buy CoDs when (after a long time) they get cheap enough, so being on bnet is not a problem if I can get it on good sale on there, Humble or even cdkeys :p . Also, in all the EGS drama I said that while first-party exclusives can be annoying, I don't consider that by itself a deal breaker.

But... a New Engine? Wouldn't be best to wait for the next generation to switch? Bah.. they will make enough money to justify it anyways :)

I'm dirty casual who enjoyed almost every CoD (excluding Ghosts, AW, BLOPS 3 and WWII), so, I'll most likely buy it on sale. I've bought enough of things from Battle.net anyway.
