Wishing all the best for the Orcs must die devs. I'm guessing they need the cash they get from exclusivity deals just to steay afloat.

Only giving you the option to buy a bundle, especially when the games have a staggered release, is shitty now that I think about it. Would be much more easier for me to pay $20 every few months, haven't paid $60 for a game for years, I just can't afford it.

Would you say that No Man's Sky is worth it for someone who likes exploration but not survival? Is there enough direction to the game to keep someone like me interested?
Good question. Would like to hear the answer to this as well.
I am not entirely sure what you mean by "direction" - do you like exploring for the sake of exploring? I would say creative mode would be excellent then. There's really not much point to the exploration beyond itself, though, aside from the "quest" thingy they have. I personally just explore to explore though.

Really need Greedfall reviews to come out so I can finalize whether to get it day 1 or not. What I've seen has tempted me in the game and I really wouldn't mind eurojanking with my 2 lady companions.
I think I'll go Tech. route since I can get stealth skills that way.

GTFO Square, 20€ for owners of the same game. Their capacity to mud any interesting launch is astonishing. It's one of the worst companies taking care of their classic ip's in my opinion.

How much of a bother is the survival aspect? Is it "eat every 5 minutes or die" or is it more lenient? Is the creative mode toggleable during gameplay or do you have to permanently choose between survival and creative?

The trailer looks so bad though, lastgen-bad. Is there any reason to have faith in this?
not him, but a lot of people said the same thing about Bloodstained and it's one of my favorite games in a while. It also boasts a long time contra developer working on it, so hopefully impressions are good

If anyone was wondering what the pre order shirts were.

This isn't what the CEO said.
They downsized and had other projects (that were probably correctly budgeted) and they talked with Google about bringing those projects to Stadia. While Google said something like "Dude, why aren't you making OMD3? What? You don't have the budget for it? We are big fans, how much money would it take to make OMD3 viable?" And with that money they hired extra people to make OMD3.

So the OMD devs are one of the few Exclusive-takers who are NOT financial-imbeciles who can't correctly budget their games. (That's what I take from all the "we wouldn't be able to make the game without Epic" PR)

If the devs can't properly budget their studios and their games, they just push their insolvency for a year or two. And it feeds a bubble that will kill more Studios than the number of Studios who Epic apparently saved when the bubble bursts. Devs who hope for an EGS deal trying to beauty up their game beyond their financial means, devs who burn their bridges with their audience to suck up to epic, devs who don't want to commit to a Steam release hoping to get a deal and inadvertently killing the hype about their game or not getting it funded on Kickstarter.
And the biggest risk is feature- and graphic creep in the indy scene. The money that epic is flinging around will raise the bars higher (if the money is really used to make those exclusives better and not to make the pockets of CEO's bigger)

I feel like much of the "we couldn't make the game without epic" or how it wouldn't be as good etc stuff is just to make it look like Epic matters in the project more rather than swoop in at the last stretch and pay them to not get on Steam. Yet we still don't see them fund risky projects way earlier in development...

Didn't read the interview in detail. So it seems this is actually the "good" kind of exclusivity, where it literally wouldn't exist without the platform holder having funded the project.

new prototype gameplay by Escape Doodland dev

The first gameplay from our new game.
It's a co-op roguelite survival game for up to two players. You'll play as a castaways who manage to survive trash tsunami and find yourself on raft in the middle of flooded world. Looking for a place to live you'll have to collect garbage and recycle it to resources needed to keep the raft going. During the journey you'll meet lot of strange creatures, odd dangers and surprises.

so will the F2P destiny even be worth it if I dont feel like buying the expansions or whatever will still cost money?

Anyone here familiar with NV driver hacking? We need this feature enabled for all NV cards and not just RTX.

Using Integer Scaling:
  • Requires a Turing GPU (GeForce RTX 20 series/GeForce GTX 16 series) and Windows 10 April 2018 Update and above
  • Integer Scaling is not supported in Surround mode, on tiled displays, with custom resolutions or when DSR is enabled
  • Pixel formats supprted: RGB/YUV444/YUV422
  • When the display has a different aspect ratio from the game, you will see black borders on the display.
  • Integer Scaling is not supported In MSHybrid notebooks where the integrated graphics are managing the display properties

Don't see how it's possible if they're using "a hardware-accelerated programmable scaling filter available in Turing," to do that :(

You can try IntegerScaler for some games though. IntegerScaler — nonblurry upscaling of games

Tested it with ftl and it works great.

Shame Humble prices are all over the place here, Big In Japan sale has a few games I would've picked if they had proper regional pricing.

August 30th Astral Chain (Switch), Blair Witch (Gamepass), Man of Medan (Steam)
September 3rd: Catherine Fully Body (PS4), Spyro Reignited (Steam)
September 10th: Gears 5 (Gamepass), Greedfall (Steam)
September 13th: Daemon x Machina (Switch), Borderlands 3 (EGS)

September 24th: The Surge 2 (Steam)
September 27th: Code Vein (Steam)

Them's a lotta games @_@

Are there any chances of Gears 2, 3 or Judgement hitting PC? It just seems strange they only ever bothered to remaster Gears 1. Even if they don't change engines, it shouldn't be that hard to get Unreal Engine games running on PC. Even a small team at The Coalition should be able to do some decent controls for a TPS, I'm sure UE3 itself has decent templates to start with.

Ugh just saw that my bank add one euro fee EVEN when buying something in euros, thought it was only when I bought something in dollars. So anything I buy at humble gets a one euro fee slapped on it.

Need to change bank damn.

"Why do you need a cart, anyway?"

That's stupid though, I've had my bank charging me for anything but never for something like that.

August 27th Ancestors Humankind Odyssey (EGS), Control (EGS)

These are two games I have a million doubts on but I would have purchased at launch out of pure curiosity.

Well, too bad.

I bet MS does a giant MCC style remaster collection with everything from 1-5 included next gen for their new console and pc.

Probably announce it whenever they wind up announcing Gears 6.

Aaah it was super smooth to bootcamp windows 10 onto my mac! So now I can finally play all those windows only games I've missed out on and they are MANY. Feels little unnecessary now that I bought a Switch haha.

But wow Windows 10 feels little akward to use after being used to MacOS:.

"Why do you need a cart, anyway?"

Haha yeah I should have used the cart. But between monthly, bundles and store those extra fees still stack up. Weirdly, it's only Humble that I get those extra fees.O_o

Yikes i did not know about some of these.

For all we know NV could be just bullshitting us since they are trying to get everybody to buy RTX cards thus the requirement is merely a marketing strategy and not a tech limitation.

Thanks for the tip though, I'm already using the latest dgVoodoo2 to upscale some of my games. This may be a good alternative if dgVoodoo fails.

How do you know the fee is for Humble purchases, and not any other reason the bank could have invented to charge you a bit more extra fees?

List of games.

I'm getting these.

August 28th Crystar (Steam)
August 30th Astral Chain (Switch) -- 30fps WARNING!
September 10th: Greedfall (Steam)
September 13th: Daemon x Machina (Switch)
September 17th: Ai: The Somnium Files (Steam)
September 20th: Ni No Kuni Remastered (Steam)
September 27th: Code Vein (Steam)

I want to get Grandia HD as well but I wasn't impressed by its horrendous filtering. I'll wait until a more thorough review is out and whether it's removable or not. Chances are we're going to have another Chrono Trigger PC situation.
