I must admit, I'm lost here and I can't even think about an answer to this kind of nonsense.
“You are very stupid” is the only suitable answer but that’d be incredibly rude so it’s better left unanswered.

I'm thinking of getting one of those M.2 drives in preparation for the ridiculous space requirement that RDR2 will need.

Does anyone have any opinion on a good one? So far im looking at either a Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB or ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 1TB.

the ADATA is cheaper so im leaning towards that one at the mo.
The cheapest PCIE m2 SSDs around here are Intel SSD 660p models -- they aren't quite as fast in terms of top speed as some other manufacturers', but they are very reliable, and for a use case like gaming you won't really see much of a difference. So that might be another option (if they are readily and cheaply available for you)

In Transmission, you’re an overnight courier in an open world of chilled-out synthwave vibes. Think Euro Truck Simulator meets Jalopy on a rainy summer night in 1986
straight into my fucking veins!

This looks Epic.
:disapproval-blob:

EDIT: Removed the Humongous Games bit. Forgot that Night Dive own the rights to them. Sorry about that!
actually, they don't anymore (regardless of what the store page says)

So who handles them?
i'd have to check discord (can't be bothered, too lazy :p) ... but when i asked Stephen about adding covers for those games as well, he said they don't have access to those packages anymore since they aren't the publisher

A little late to the party but I'm liking the box art XSEED has uploaded for their games on Steam. Glad they took their time and put up some quality ones.

Also, Celeste Chapter 9 is currently kicking my ass. I'm fighting the power to not look at a walkthrough cuz I'm currently stuck in a puzzle.

Finally got my Switch! It's pretty freakin' sweet. My next day off isn't until Friday so I won't really be able to dig-in until then.

Hardware thoughts:
Nice weight, not too heavy, not too light. Seems solidly built, it feels nice that everything clicks and locks. It's smaller than I thought, I feel like the internet pictures always made it seem bigger. This is a plus. Those bezels I always thought were big and ugly aren't actually all that bad.

The state of the E-Shop though, it's trash! Nintendo seriously needs to work on this.

All said and done though, I finally understand the "perfect for Switch" meme. This thing has me really tempted to double-dip on a lot of indies and smaller games where graphics don't matter too much...
Congrats! The Switch is amazing.
Now to download those weird games with cute ladies on the eShop.

Lol, in what universe?
Are they perfect? No, their shit is way too expensive and they still do some totally morally dubious stuff trying to appease China and certain Middle Eastern states every once in a while. The main difference is that they're still primarily interested (for now) in selling you that expensive-ass hardware. Not necessarily datamining you and monetizing your humanity, which is still pretty much the entire raison d'etre for other certain tech companies.
Sorry for bumping this, but yeah, about that:

I was thinking about new ideas for my videos, and come up with this - No-HUD gameplay clips without my commentaries with the best possible settings I can achieve at 60FPS. You know, I was saying how awesome games can look without HUD, I know how to disable HUD in some games to take good looking screenshots, and recently I started to record tons of gameplay footage for my reviews, most of which I end up not using. So why not use all this instead and make gameplay videos with a few No-HUD clips from some games? Like, for example, in Crysis Warhead:

Most of these games are almost impossible to play without HUD because they simply not designed that way, in Crysis Warhead when you disable HUD you can't switch nanosuit modes and can't see where exactly you need to go next (thankfully, Crytek messed up and tried to make it a lot more linear than original Crysis, so most of the levels were more or less straightforward). But it still looks impressive, so I decided to try and showcase games without HUD, and some people might be interested in seeing that kind of gameplay videos. If the reception will be good, I'll probably try and make more videos like this from other games, maybe even return to some games I've played recently like Far Cry Primal and original Assassins Creed that in my experience were looking great in motion without HUD.

Wait, there was a Postal 3? I do admit, I loved Postal 2 back in the day, but I have a feeling a new Postal game today would strike all the wrong notes.
There shouldn't be a Postal 3, but welp. Postal 4 might be releasing today on early access, and I feel the same as you. Postal was fun years ago, don't think I can stand that kind of 'humor' anymore

There was, but it wasn't done by Running With Scissors, it was done by a team that Russian publisher Akella hired.

The original developers of Postal sum up Postal 3 rather well

(I believe you about Postal 4, but I can't seem to find any mention of it, where'd you read about it?.)

Well... Good luck... I guess you're not the only one in this situation.

But between this and your problems with Piko KS, maybe you should reconsider backing for a while :p

You made me think of something. You know what I'm surprised to still read these days ? People comparing paid Egsclusivities and publishers choice to only put their game on Steam with no other stores delivering keys for their game.

AI The Somnium Files is in this situation for example. No way to buy it in another place than Steam. So out of nowhere, I see comments like this :

I must admit, I'm lost here and I can't even think about an answer to this kind of nonsense.
I can understand why some people say that, after all Spike Chunsoft doesn't even sell Steam keys anymore (or at least for their newer releases).

It's likely a lot easier for some publishers just to release on one platform and only worry about one build of a game or something like that?

But wouldn't this mean that companies like Spike Chunsoft are comfortable enough with Steam and the money that they make there that they don't have a need to release their games in other places (I think they do release stuff on DMM Games in Japan though)

Oh speaking of DMM Games I thought it was strange how they advertised indivisible and how it was going to be on their store and when you look at Steam it doesn't say that it has Japanese support but later on the devs confirmed that the Steam version will add Japanese support at a later date. Timed exclusive language pack?

I have mixed feelings about Postal 4.

I liked the first game. Since I like top-down, or isometric shooters, I had fun with it, and really didn't get why everyone went nuts about it, in terms of wanting it banned. I mean, I understand somewhat, considering the "hysteria" there was at the time regarding video games violence, but the game wasn't as bad as people said it was. Far from it. The biggest difference was you were playing the bad guy.

Postal 2, on the other hand, was clearly a game trying to build on that "crazy" reaction to the first game, and pretty much tried to offend everything and everyone. But personally, I was disappointed with it, I felt it was barely a game. It felt more like a mini-sandbox to pull the worse crap you could think of, and not really a game.
I think I never finished a single level. I would launch the game, proceed to pull some shenanigans, and be done with it.
It was mildly amusing for a few minutes, but not much more.

I didn't play Postal III.

I saw a few seconds of Postal 4, and it seems like Postal 2, with better graphics.

So, Postal 4.
I really have no problem with dark humour, or "juvenile" content, and I can laugh at certain things, even if I don't agree with them.
I can separate (mostly) what is featured on a video game, from real life. I say mostly, because even on video games, I dislike killing animals, especially cats and dogs. :giggle:
But, for me, that's not enough to build a game on.

If the game takes that over-the-top shenanigans, and places it on levels/maps and gameplay that is remotely fun to play, I would welcome it. I know some people will completely disagree with me, but there's not many games around that simply don't give a damn about the content they provide, in terms of people finding it possibly offending (but naturally, without the limits of our laws), and I think there's a place for that.
Running With Scissors, to me, always felt a bit like the video games equivalent to Troma.

If the game is just interested in courting controversy, and plays like crap, I doubt it's something I'll enjoy.

I don't know, I may give it a try, if the price isn't excessive.

How different in speed is it from a regular SSD?
I was planning on getting maybe 2 M.2 drives since my motherboard has support for 2. I was thinking of getting a 1TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus and now that I see these Intel ones, maybe using the 2TB one in the other drive?

Is that kind of a dumb way to go about things? My current SSD is a Samsung Evo 840, are the regular speeds from the 660p faster than that? If they are about the same I might end up picking one up, and putting both games on it but also storing my Nvidia Shadowplay videos (which doesn't seem like a bad idea since you said that they are pretty reliable).

Asides from the m.2 Nvme that I was planning on buying I was also thinking of buying a 2TB SSD but I guess I would be better off just buying the 660p instead?

Oh I just realized that it's a 3D drive. I have not kept up with SSDs but from what I recall the 3D ones are the much slower ones? They would at least be a lot faster than the 7200p Hard drives that I currently have at least ?

Ah so I think the jist of that vid is that for my intended use (just sticking games on it) then the Intel one is a good option? But if I wanted to use it for other computing stuff then maybe a different drive would be better?

I can't fucking stand the idiotic faces streamers do in order to catch your eyes.
It must mean that's it. I'm now old.
I can't watch 99% of the "Personality Streamers" that most people rave about. I can't stand the fake shouting and exaggeration any more thankfully i've found a few streamers i can watch regularly but yeah the second someone clips out the microphone level because they're randomly screaming to get the kids to watch is when i turn them off.

Oh and the "Babyface" morph people love, that can fuck off too.

I don't follow any, and with rare, few exceptions, I don't watch videos of streamers, period.

I loved the format of something like The 1up Show.
It's a shame someone didn't invest in doing a similar weekly show (or specials), with likeable people talking about games, and acting like "normal" people.

I know I frequently sound like a grumpy old fart, but I'll never understand the appeal of people acting like idiots on camera, much less the people who donate hundreds, sometimes thousands, of $/€ to some of these streamers, just so they can shout out the most fake sounding "thank you" on camera.

Several years ago, people kept talking about how awesome pewdiepie was, and I attempted to watch a bit of a video one developer listed of him playing their game. And what did I get? A highly annoying guy, acting like a mentally challenged person, and squeaking or shouting "pewdiepie" throughout the whole, brief, moments I watched.
Personally, I'll never understand the appeal of something like that. Nor, the comparisons of people like him, to TV or film "entertainers".

Again, I'm an old fart. :grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes:

The only youtube game player ive watched was one called Kay Plays where this lady was playing Dark Souls because her boyfriend thought it would be funny and it turned out that she was really good at the game and also at deciphering the lore and working out secrets and stuff. Was a good watch.

It's the same with the "Shouty Mans" icons on AppStores and "Stupid Eye-Morphs" Youtubers have to do in their thumbnails. People seem to love Click-Bait, Drama and bearded men looking like Babies in Thumbnails. If you don't do that then you won't get the "Popular Vote" and mad clicks.

I don't get why the Fortnite streamers doesn't play something else while they wait for the game to become live again instead of just watching a black hole for hours.
