Top of first slide. I assume it based on their estimations. How did they get those sale numbers and what does the colour code mean?
Green = Likely in "Test Flight" event
Orange = Secured or in negotiation for free game

I'm actually surprised that they didn't get some of those. That said ... trying to get PUBG ...PUBG
Resident Evil 2 (Remake)
Dead by Daylight
Euro Truck Sim 2
Mortal Kombat 11
Insurgency Sandstorm
No Man's Sky
Europa Universalis IV
Two Point Hospital
Astroneer
Hunt Showdown
Lol at all of these games being miles away from recouping their minimum guarantees.
So the last 2 won't see more money from EGS unil epic gets their money back ?
those that have lifetime recoup MGs, does that mean they're exclusive until they meet that threshold?
correctSo the last 2 won't see more money from EGS unil epic gets their money back ?
nope, it means they don't get a penny from egs sales until they re-earn the money Tim gave them for egsclusivitythose that have lifetime recoup MGs, does that mean they're exclusive until they meet that threshold?
Remember how Snapshot games expected Phoenix Point to sell 1 million copies within the first year? I'm extremely happy that pc gamers voted with their wallets against these sellouts.
But isn’t that the same for PP too? So why specify the 12 months?correct

Mechwarriors devs literally stated they sold "houndred of thousands" of copies.
I think one of the earlier documents said that the first exclusives had the 12 months recoup but later was changed to a lifetime recoup model. But isn’t that the same for PP too? So why specify the 12 months?
i believe PP signed the deal earlier than those other 2 ... and the earlier deals were indeed for 12 months, not lifetime recoupBut isn’t that the same for PP too? So why specify the 12 months?
Technically they did, they just forgot to mention they sold those copies to Epic instead of selling to customers.Mechwarriors devs literally stated they sold "houndred of thousands" of copies.
i think they were doing pre-orders on their website before they announced they aren't releasing on steam ... so they probably counted those inMechwarriors devs literally stated they sold "houndred of thousands" of copies.
Post this pic on their Twitter and ask them?Mechwarriors devs literally stated they sold "houndred of thousands" of copies.
might be because they had to sell out all their KS backersI find it hilarious that Phoenix Point's exclusivity cost Epic nearly three times as much as Tony Hawk.
interesting stuff, from which document is this? Couldn't find it in the Box archive
2600% preorders increase..
zooms in.....
Some free games Epic tried to get: (but failed)
Looks like Epic uses shamelessly Steam as shopping platform
PUBG
Resident Evil 2 (Remake)

Euro Truck Sim 2
Mortal Kombat 11

I had missed that:Thanks, man.
did we know that total free games buyout in 2020 was 100 million dollars? (only 11 mio without test flight event)
I'm honestly amazed Steam hasn't nuked the most wishlisted page/API/whateverLooks like Epic uses shamelessly Steam as shopping platform
So what you're saying here is if I want to support the devs instead of spending on EGS because of a 88/12 split, I can go pirate the game and then buy it on Steam?

Nah, no need to kick them while their down.Post this pic on their Twitter and ask them?
True."Stellula" might be Farming Simulator '19
Yeah I checked that site. Also looking at some other names, Eel probably refers to Kingdom Come: Deliverance and Albacore refers to some Ubisoft game. Looking over some news articles, KC: D was an EGS freebie in early February 2020 so it's probably in that same time range.True.

well at least now we know how they're planning on supporting that 12% ... by farming and selling customer data
I... wouldn't put it above them.well at least now we know how they're planning on supporting that 12% ... by farming and selling customer data
When it was ready to come to EGS, it wasn't in the Zeitgeist anymore and Epic shunned them :>
Fall Guys was supposed to come to EGS in Q4 2020.
I missed that table for some reason. And For Honor cost $63 k. cf. News - Epic Games Store
Epic is getting bargains on Ubisoft games. I'm pretty sure they only paid $64k for For Honor.
I mean, given how they got a lot of their user data originally (scraping steam APIs) this should come as no shock to anyonewell at least now we know how they're planning on supporting that 12% ... by farming and selling customer data
Ive always said that with those free games, you are the product!well at least now we know how they're planning on supporting that 12% ... by farming and selling customer data
Maybe new users that didn't claim that game. (Fortnite, UE, doing nothing, paying for a game, etc.)?No idea about the distinction between New User EGS and All EGS New Users.
