Sad but expected I guess. I wonder if it's just Atlus half-assing the entire remaster or is it old game logic bullshit?

Not like I was gonna touch this port anytime soon with that pricing lol

Since the PS4 version is also 30 fps I kind of expected that, the price tho ...

E; Does it at least have arbitrary resolution support ? (I know it's made in unity, but it wouldn't be the first japanese port in a popular engine without it).

Overpriced, shitty regional pricing, barebone port, the list goes on.

Thank you everyone who support this, you certainly made it clear to those publishers that this is acceptable. It's your money of course, but I won't celebrate the port's success with you.
.....but
I want to have an official copy of smt3 T_T

Isn't the remaster running on Unity?

Watch it also lacking graphical options and some other bullshit, plus the bad regional price makes it easy to ignore.

Bring nocturne on PC

If they ported it to Unity, they probably had to create all animations and such in the new engine too, right? The usual argument why a 30 FPS lock is left is due to existing code not allowing for higher FPS without breaking stuff, but if you port the thing to a new engine, why not just interpolate everything properly?

I don't think the port will be a success. It was far in the top sellers list when pre-orders went live and is nowhere to be seen now (while P4G is). The game lacks the mass appeal to attract people with such a barebones port and remaster sold at an extremely high price.

I guess that could be the case

There's no incentive to preorder the standard edition and the only real benefit of preordering the deluxe edition is getting the game earlier.

I expect it to do better closer to release.

Yeah, I probably mistaken it with Replicant which is among the top sellers now (which is also sending the wrong message, considering how they treated Automata). Though Returnal is still a month away, so let's see how it goes.

By the way, thread title is missing crucial information - game name is incomplete:

There's no incentive to preorder a lot of games, doesn't stop them from topping top sellers for months. Prime example - Cyberpunk.

Whew, it has been a week so far. Yesterday had a city inspection for the work my Dad and I have been doing, which thankfully passed the city.

Had a cat litter box crack and leak urine, which was :poutblob: to clean up. Yucky...

My wife and I are getting a last minute ultrasound tomorrow to see what position the baby is in since they think she may be head up, which would be no bueno for delivery.

Just had my presentation I have to do every few weeks to present my analytics I run for work.

Ready to coast into the weekend if I can so help it hahah :blobmorning2:

How is Emily is Away 3? I surprisingly loved the first 2.

I learnt few years back that the developer of Lovely Planet games is an Indian, based out in South India.

Also these games are really cool time trial FPS.

Yup, it's in the Steam Indian Harvest Indie Sale going on at the moment.
The games are also bloody tough, don't let the cutesy look and simple controls fool you. They don't mess around on later levels. Tricksy little things.
Good fun when you nail them though.

Thinking of getting the Galaxy Tab A 8" 2019 model, or rather the 10"
It's at a good price for me for one thing.

Completely anecdotal but my Tab 6 (I think) died within 3 months and I've heard similar stories about non flagship Samsung tablets.

iirc several of Squenix's PS1 ports also run on Unity, but are still capped at 30fps, or even 15fps in battles. someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't get it, either, but I'm no expert on the challenges of porting older games.

not saying it's right but i'd rather this then no port at all and paying through the nose for a rare long OOP PS2 game

It's live

The Walking Dead: The Final Season
Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition
Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood
Dungeons 3
Yoku's Island Express
Yooka-Laylee
Blazing Beaks

Damn, that's a pretty good line-up for a Fanatical bundle. Turns out I already own most of the stuff I would've wanted, though lol. Can't really justify getting it just for Call of Juarez. :(

I'm generally okay with pricing a game high if you've rebuilt it from the ground up on a new engine to accommodate modern platform features. I mean, it's not a port, but a reconstruction. I winced a little at the SMTIII price but considering what I'd see as acceptable for the work required to move the game to a whole new engine, plus the Atlus tax, I was actually willing to pay.

But if you're then going to cap the game at 30fps on a platform where people explicitly pay over the odds for hardware so they can run their games at higher framerates, you've lost me.

30fps is gross and no one is going to convince me otherwise. Even a turn-based RPG should have smooth camera panning and animation.

Sorry for being too late

Ah nice, so it's a similar UI to the mobile/smart TV app.
