I played some of the first Moss game, and its cute, but it suffers from the VR problem: I dont really wanna plop on that thing and clear out the room to play anything ;)
tbh I just wasn't in love with the gameplay in Moss though. Astro Bot, if you're going for a platformer, is so much better. I even like Luckey's Tale (VR) better.

Yeah taking my time as well with Elden Ring. 1st playthrough and 175 hours, just reached the capital city.

Great game but really hate the multiplayer connection errors.

Having to press 2 buttons to alternate between 1 and 2 handed is very unfortunate. Already got me killed several times.

Elden Ring's UI, UX, or clarity of information, everything is shit tier.
Buuuut to be fair, I just played through Hellpoint and I'm beginning to think souls-like are just cursed on that front. Seriously, got through 98% of the game before discovering you could upgrade your weapons.

In a new interview with Yahoo Japan, the exec said he believed that focusing only on traditional games would be "not enough" for the company going forwards, and described his vision for titles in which users would create content and be rewarded for their work (Matsuda previously said Square Enix could create its own cryptocurrency).

"In the future, we would like to try our hand at providing 'autonomous game content'," the president told Yahoo.

"Until now, in most games, we provided the content as a finished product and the players played that content. However, there are a certain number of players in the world who want to contribute to making games more interesting, by creating new settings and ways of playing."
He added: "In the future, we want to utilise the power of these people to create games that will continue to evolve.

"If, instead of relying on goodwill, we can also provide incentives to those who contribute to development by utilising technologies such as blockchain, there is a possibility that innovative and interesting content can be created from the ideas of users."

There goes Square Enix too.

Anyone know the Skullgirls native art resolution? I found an ancient thread that says it's 720p but it also says they were looking to upgrade to 1080p, did they?

Also is the controversy over with that guy gone from the company or is there still stuff going on? Just got reminded of the game seeing dlc or whatever stuff.

CapCom and Bandai found that day 1 Steam releases makes them a fuckload of money. Even if the ports aren't all that great, day 1 on Steam is extremely important.

Also, played the last 2 Hitman 2 expansion campaign levels and the last sniper assassin level for the cheevo for them just for the sake of it and it reminded me how damn good the Hitman games are and Im sad IOI fucked up the release if Hitman 3. As in, Hitman 3 is no doubt a damn good game and that you can play the previous games in Hitman 3 is wonderful, just the way they released H3 is awful

Been modding the shitty Chrono Cross port. The community has been amazing. Within a week the game has gone from a 15-20 FPS game to stable 60 FPS with correct frametimes. Sadly I can't get the latest mod that is using SpecialK working on Linux but the previous patch works fine. Only thing I am still waiting for is if someone could port a proper AI upscaled background mod and then I will do my playthrough. Seriously Square, have some damn respect for your IPs.

PS, I feel sad for those playing on consoles. Chrono Cross deserves so much better.

Original Pixel Font for the original PS1 fonts
Snooty AI Upscale for decent AI Upscaled movies
New models in Classic Mode
ISA FPS Hack because I can't get the new SpecialK patch working under Proton. If on Windows use this guide.

I watched the Le Mans 66 movie

Ford Vs Ferrari

It's a really good movie and I highly recommend checking it out.

There are multiple aspects to that movie, and one of the big ones has to do with creativity and pushing the limits, and how corporations don't like that and want to pretty much control everything and if you disagree with them, then there is no need for you. After all they have to maintain a public image, even if those choices end up backfiring on them terribly and rather than to fess up with how they messed up they rather put the blame on someone else.

In the movie initially comes off as arrogant/prideful but then after you do realize that's just how artists are, they take pride in their work and won't settle for less, they won't settle for mediocrity, they want to be the best of the best.

You also do realize that once you piss off the top of a corporation (Henry Ford II, with Ferrari basically saying that he didn't create the company and he inherited the company and that it was his granddad was the founder) you can get a lot of stuff done (let's sign some blank checks boys!!!!!) But in the end it's mainly ego that is fueling all of that and how it can still fall all apart since they are not reaching for perfection and are still okay with settling with mediocrity along the way so long as it's just slightly better than the competition, instead of just making sure that they keep being ahead.

Also corporations are willing to just throw money to buy stuff (why compete against Ferrari when we can just buy them). This does have issues and like it showed in the movie, you have the whole thing of the big corporation making all the rules and not recognizing individuals and their efforts and instead going for the whole "it's for the good of the company". The artist individual now has to comply to rules and instead of only having to deal with things that are not possibly because of "physics" now has to deal with not being able to do stuff because of bureaucracy (and this is what it seem like is the current issues with video games).

But in the end we see that talent recognizes talent. Game recognizes game.
By the end of the movie, Ferrari recognized/acknowledged the efforts that the Ford GT40 racing team put into that race.

But yeah, it's a good movie

I'm not sure about the art, the last time I checked it still was 720p but that was years ago.

About the studio everyone left and started Future Club without any involvement Mike Z. The new studio is employee owned and they are working with Hidden Variable (studio that developed Skullgirls Mobile) on the new updates.

There goes Square Enix too.
This is just games industry accelerationism at this point. If these publishers all follow through they'll be out of business in 15 years. The current cryptocrap games efforts are already failing. The thing is, the games industry is a place where companies historically do fall straight to their deaths, like when everyone was chasing MMOs.

And after that we'll have a new Golden Age where games makers exclusively make things people actually asked for.

It's literally just a scam, and they use it in places where there aren't enough jobs.
Joke's on these big ass companies. When the AAA space inevitable crumbles yet again, indies will continue flourishing.

UE5 Matrix Demo is stunning on PC

But it made me realize one thing, photorealistic rendering is still kinda far away. I mean don't get me wrong that video is really close but entire time something was off to me. And then it hit me, it's too clean. Tons of shiny cars but none of them are dirty, none of them have faded paint, streets have nice textures and look but they miss details like spilled oil and other things. In short Epic reached that 90-95% mark with tech but that last 5-10% maybe will never be reached because it is impossible to replicate those tiny little details we see every day in real world. Maybe sometime in the future AI manages to populate virtual worlds with those details, but for now we will be stuck in that "close but not there yet" bubble.

I think the lighting especially is very impressive, the way things are lit looks absolutely perfect. You are right of course about those small details, but I think it's stilly to assume we will reach perfect photorealism in this decade, that's still far away. But it's nice to see how much progress there is already by just incorporating non-rasterised methods like ray tracing into the existing pipeline. The next step will probably be going completely away from rasterisation, towards something like path tracing.

Square Enix is a weird company. They're able to simultaneously publish GAAS duds like Babylon's Fall and Chocobo Racing, but also release excellent games with no MTX junk like Guardians of the Galaxy and Triangle Strategy.

'Play to earn' as a concept is disgusting. I already have a job, I don't need my escapist entertainment to feel like a job as well.
While it's not directly related to play to earn, I've come to resent the battle pass model which is meant to stretch out play time as much as possible in the name of "engagement". FOMO is almost as bad as lootboxes.

Honestly I think I'm starting to feel my age. The amount of attempts I needed to beat the 2
Godskin
bosses is embarrassing. I really enjoyed both fights, From boss fights at their best, but even though I don't see it I must be getting slow. I beat Demon's Souls NG and NG+ completely solo back on PS3, I hope I still have it in me to beat the remake whenever I get to play it.

I don't think you're getting old lol multiple late-game Elden Ring bosses are waaaaay harder than the ones that came before and the
Godskin Duo
is pretty much a boss fight that is not well design since both are too fast for a gank fight. My advice is to use a summon named
Black Knife Tiche
. When this summon is upgraded the odds in your favor increase significantly. If you're going solo, I'd recommend a weapon with bleed and strong weapon art. I personally used the Moonveil, but that depends on your build. Also, upgrade your shield since it reduces the amount of stamina you take from each hit.

Ok, so you're telling me I will have to fight both at the same time?
