Look's pretty cool, I'm always down for some PS1 inspired games, but this one, judging from the tweets. is still in veeery early development.
It does make you wonder about their overall strategy. Are they acquiring all these studios so they can afford to just immediately axe whichever ones aren't delivering or because they just wanna keep throwing as much shit at the wall as possible in hope that something sticks?Honestly, more worried about Volition - hopefully Embracer will allow them to weather this, theyre a talented team - or were anyway, and have more IP playgrounds they can play in.
It's not like you're obligated to play either of them, so youre really only out timeI have to ask, why would I drop £49.99 on a buggy mess of an outdated open world game like Saints Row when I could spend £49.99 on a decently ported next gen looking game like Spider-Man.
The sad thing for me is that I was interested (looking forward would be stretching it) in giving it a go. Now with the mixture of technical faults and, for all intents, what would have looked outdated 10 years ago I am not sure if even £10 is worth it for me.
Yep, same. As much as I like the idea of a lot of older IP coming back or teams being given some breathing room in the AA/B sized production space, we don't really know how Embracer is going to behave, since they've not released many actual games since they ballooned. For all we know theyre only giving these devs enough rope to hang themselves post-acquisition and will "PapaEA" any studio who fails on try one.It does make you wonder about their overall strategy. Are they acquiring all these studios so they can afford to just immediately axe whichever ones aren't delivering or because they just wanna keep throwing as much shit at the wall as possible in hope that something sticks?
I'm worried about the long-term impact all this consolidation will have on the industry. Not just for the inevitable moment when MS and Sony decide they don't need Steam anymore but also for if/when some of these studios stop being profitable.
Had totally forgotten DeepSilver took a nice chunk of change from Epic for the PC exclusive back ages ago, so even if it's sales are poor, it might still end up close to breaking even on the budget sheetI wonder if Saints Row might not still actually sell pretty ok. It makes sense that reviewers will hate on it, since it's literally just trying to be Saints Row 2, a straight forward GTA clone with no real soul of its own. On the other hand, that might still be something that a large audience is interested in! It's been forever since the last new GTA and there might be a genuine market gap right now for this exact thing.
Critical reception != market reception.
It could still make bank.
You live in a region where the game is cheaper than the person's you're trying to send it to.Huh, what's this shit?
since they killed the Russian bearHow long has that been a thing?
I'm sure it has been quite a few years, I tried to send PossiblyPudding a birthday present last year and got the same messagesince they killed the Russian bear

That's a lot to take in from one trailer. Plus: solid-looking action, silly writing. Negative: animeIm so in for this.
you can alert me the same on such games :>
Pretty much all I play nowadays is old games so I don't want to add even more to my big backlog. I have so much installed. Also replayed a bunch of OG Doom not that long ago on Deck so I'm not really in a mood for a boomer shooter for now. And I have OG Prey + Thief installed on Deck which I will try out soon along with a bunch of jrpgs. The newer stuff seems kind of disappointing these days. Not looking forward to much other than Callisto and P5R the rest of the year.Might I suggest looking backwards at some of what makes PC games truly great? Boomer shooters for example. There has to be something that's out that you haven't tried out yet. Ultrakill just got a new update a few days ago. Adaca was mentioned earlier and while it's not exactly a boomer shooter, it's a fantastic one man project that's worth looking at. Project Warlock 2 released into early access just a while ago. If not a shooter, Gloomwood is a Thief like game that is coming in a few days and has a demo worth trying. Speaking of demos, the single best demo I've played in a very long time is another shooter named Selaco. I'm sure Selaco has been mentioned before but I have to say, it is completely, utterly mindblowing that a GZDoom game can look this good. If all this is too violent, there's a lovely looking point and click adventure that came out a while ago called Lost in Play that didn't do anywhere near as well as I feel like it deserved to (and I didn't buy it either, so I'm part of the problem). They had some real bad luck right at release and I think that depressed their sales drastically.
That ryhme was so bad, it literally killed someone
So do I, and I don't want to be unnecessarily harsh but I feel like I've read similar stories dozens of times and not getting a lawyer when dealing with a 250k pounds contract (of any sort) is just baffling.
Damn really feel bad for the devs
Holy crap!Hell yeah
Yes that is what they shipped and didn't fix in first patch/hotfix. I couldn't play it more than 30 minutes in one session dut o how it looked. I posted this beforeHoly crap!
I have not looked at any Spiderman media since I really don't care for it, but please someone tell me that what's labeled "default" there is not what they actually shipped as the default?
That's literally what I would use as an example of "oversharpened to hell", but then I'd probably add that this is overdone for illustration purposes and generally not that severe in real life.
Damn.

I actually think this is pretty cool. Wondering what's the original line. Will she talk like a Japanese gal (like Eunie from Xenoblade 3)
