I found a blog post from the developer of Demoracy 4 that gives a platform split for the game based on the PC store.

Some things to note:
-The pie chart is based on net revenue, so after each respective store's cut.
-The Epic version came out several weeks after the Steam version so it isn't the best direct comparison, but it still did pretty well.
-The developer spent money advertising the Humble Widget version which only takes a 5% charge compared to other stores which would explain the unusually high percentage.

I find this interesting since this is one of the only cases I can remember where a developer actually gave a platform split. It shows, even in the face of increasing competition, Steam is still the biggest player in the PC direct sales market. It also shows Epic is making some headway and the split would have probably been higher if it had released on the same day as Steam and GOG. On the topic of GOG, it's unfortunately a bit player (although it will vary by game, and Cyberpunk will most likely skew more heavily towards GOG). I wish I could find pie charts for games that launched day and date on Steam, EGS and GOG to see what the split is like, but I'm happy to have this information available.
Love this data, I hope we see more developers release this kind of information.

The Xbox is weird. I guess I'm so use to PS that I am use to a dedicated "rest/sleep" option but after digging around it seems that you just use the "turn off" function. This is why I was confused when I was looking at stuff in the settings that it mentioned a complete shutdown option.

For around $90USD a year of Gamepass is a pretty good offer if you play at least 2-3 games anymore more than that makes it great.

I have most of the KH games on PS4 should I play them on my PS5 via BC of just play the Gamepass versions via BC on XSX.

The way sharing works on XSX is a bit strange. On the controller there is a dedicated button and it works the same way as it does on PS5 and N/S (and I guess also on PS4. I'm not sure about PS4 since sharing was so unresponsive on that thing) you press share once and you get a screenshot, hold and you get video. Or actually on PS5 you double clip to do a screenshot since just clicking once brings up the sharing options.

I'm going to look more into it since it's interesting.

I do hope that MS does stuff to improve the MS store since having GP on both Xbox and PC is pretty great because of the different games.

The loon part was exaggeration, in jest. But it was not a great word choice during a series of misunderstandings.
I understood it as such, don't worry. And I have insider data that 100% confirms much stronger versions of that statement than you likely intended. But I'm not sharing it.

For real though, speaking only on my own behalf, I think you're better understood now and welcome.
Thanks, I hope so. Regardless, it's getting late here, and tomorrow is Monday, so good night, sorry for the drama, thanks for all the fish, and happy gaming discussions.

People give Star citizen shit for the lengthy development time but they at least don't claim they can squeeze the game onto 8 year old hardware and release a beta version as release. Cp2077 needed at least another year.
They just needed to host a stream on twitch for old consoles with 'Drops enabled'.
Implying fps drops, that would be enough to avoid legal action and refunds.

Along with The Order 1886. I bet the demand for those two is huge. :sneaky:
I'd buy The Order at 20-ish. It looks like an ok brainless shooter. I like the setting.

God I hate survival mechanics. I played a couple of hours of No Man's Sky and 90% of it was gathering raw materials and cataloguing turd monsters. By the way, that game has a truly awful interface. A couple of planets were very pretty but everything else....ugh.
I played for maybe 10 hours normally and found I was really hating my time with it. I switched to the sandbox mode or whatever and it was instantly fun. And yeah the interface, especially if you want to do any base building, is a bear.

Yeah, I really want to like this game and play it for hundreds of hours (like Minecraft, grand strategy, Factorio, etc.) I see videos of NMS and get the itch to play it again, but then I remember the unfun parts, the awful controls, the buggy base building on your freighter, the sterile space stations.

The gameplay in general is too much focused on personal interaction on planetary levels while I want more QOL things like automation and big builds out of it.

Yeah, at first I thought they just did a terribly job of porting the UI to VR, but then I found out that it's bad even in 2D.

Started replaying Resonance of Fate. It's one of my favorite games in the 360/PS3 era. With a over-the-top combat system emphasizing action quota, teamwork and positioning, a bleak story told in humorous and sometimes thoughtful dialogues, as well as the washed-out yet beautiful sceneries and character models, this game is still completely unique after a decade. Still alive, still fantastic.

...wait, why are people saying this is Silksong? Don’t get me wrong, I’d love if it was, but the connection has gone over my head.
I tried for 10 minutes to get the connection here. I'm lost. Put the game in my account now, or GTFO. (please don't, I'll never get any sleep)

My guess is that people are so desperate for Silksong that they're willing to see that oval shape as those head shapes on Hollow Knight.

Sooooooooo it seems that for the XSX you need to download a Blu-ray app in order to be able to watch Blu-rays.... I mean so far the app works but that just seems kinda of dumb.

If I had to guess Microsoft probably has to pay a license fee for ever Series X used as a Blu Ray player so they decrease their cost by making people download the app instead of pre installing it. I could be wrong though.

The thing is, Cyberpunk isn't a broken, glitchy mess at all. It's less buggy than the vast majority of large-scale open world RPGs I've played at launch.
I'm not sure what people expect from a game of this type (I am sure though that at least some of the online outrage is fueled by the performance on last-gen consoles, which is pretty shit and it's fair to point out as a big flaw, but it's neither a bug nor a glitch).
Yeah, I put over 20 hours into the game so far and I haven't experienced anything I would call game-breaking by any stretch of the imagination. It's mostly just funny jank. Like earlier I grabbed a dude from behind, through the couch he was sitting on, and when I choked him out he walked back to the couch to pass out.

Maybe I'm misremembering but I could swear a decade ago Skyrim launched in a worse state and people were just embracing it and making memes about horse physics or whatever. The discourse surrounding games has gotten so fucking miserable over the last decade...

Cyberpunk is certainly buggy, but there a lot of factors surrounding the discourse of the game.

First is the last gen console versions, which we already know how sad they are, especially in terms of performance. Secondly, the crashes in next gen systems as well as PC. But this one is like a roulette and doesn't affect everyone (I've had zero crashes so far). And lastly, of course the glitches. Now this is what's confusing me, is the PC version supposed to be as glitchy as console or what? Because I share the same experience as the others here, it's buggy but nothing game breaking. I've seen numerous glitches and memes on the internet, and I never come across them. The most common bugs for me are unpickable junks, funny ragdoll effects of enemies, and NPCs cowering in the air. There's also the issue with how the cops appear out of thin air when coming after you. But I don't think this is a bug, they just ran out of time to come up with a good solution for the cops system, and this is the best they can think of. Ultimately, I feel bad for the devs who went through all that crunch for this. It's such a massive mismanagement for a 7+ year project.

Police and bad AI behavior are definitely not a bugs. Junks, T Pose, and floating/sinking stuffs are definitely bugs.

I have zero crashes so far fortunately.

The discussion about Cyberpunk also really bad. It's like you are not allowed to say something good about the game and god forbid you enjoy the game. Subreddit are full of complaining that it buried the discussion ams don't make me start about that other forum.

See, crunch aside, I don't think this is necessarily accurate or fair. Like, every single Bethesda game doesn't launch a buggy mess because Bethesda is inept as a studio. Games like this are incredibly complex and I'm honestly surprised/impressed that Cyberpunk is in as good of a state as it is. At least in my experience.

As for the base consoles thing, keep in mind the game was initially announced back in 2013, almost a full year before those systems came out. I think the game eventually simply became too demanding for those consoles but they couldn't exactly backtrack and cancel those versions. I kinda see it like when Borderlands 2 finally came out on Vita and people complained that it looked and ran like shit. It's like, well, what the fuck did you expect? lmao

Obviously, it's not quite the same situation but I can't say I find it shocking that they had to downgrade the game so much to get it running at all. At this point, I believe the rumor that the initial delay was due to the game failing cert on those platforms. And man, I don't even want to imagine how it ran back then lol...

Too me this is very strange especially when talking into account how the XOX was able to play 4K Bluray but the PS4 pro was not able to. I don't have any evidence but I still have the feeling that some people in Japan picked up an XOX when those came out and such just for the 4K bluray stuff.

If I had to guess Microsoft probably has to pay a license fee for ever Series X used as a Blu Ray player so they decrease their cost by making people download the app instead of pre installing it. I could be wrong though.
That does make more sense since I would imagine that stuff can cost quite a bit of money but then again it flat out says UltraHD Bluray on the box Or do they not need to pay a license in order to say that?

To add on top of what others have said about CP, maybe all of this backlash comes from a small group of people when in reality most of the people on the base console are okay with the current experience and can't really tell the difference and such.

Does the game have bugs? Yes I played an hour ago and when I was playing I had a NPC T POSE. I also had another eating a burger that would fall out of the map and then jump back into this hands. But these bugs have not ruined the game for me

around 4 million people have picked up CP at this point on consoles but do we know that all of those will be playing on the enhanced consoles are on the pro versions? Sure the OG versions out number the pro versions but I highly highly doubt that you are going to have 30+ million people buying the game for OG PS4 and 10+ million buying it for OG Xbox One. How many "pro units have sold"?

People are weird.

Also Credit Cards are scary I just applied to one and was approved right away and they even let get their top end card.

I got The Order for free with my ps4 and I actually liked it a lot. It's too short all right, but what's there is very solid. The setting and story are excellent.
