I wouldn't quite agree, a lot of the Sekiro fights still require you to endure a lot of tedium. My worst memory might be guardian Ape's run back, and the burning castle memory with the drunk guy where you just have to run past (which is really, really hard to do right) or ideally kill a crapton of soliders. I ended up save scumming there, because I'm too old for this sort of bad design.
Didn't have problems with those myself. With the Guardian Ape fight, I guess you're referring to the second one ? It's not the fastest, I guess, but it's like 15-20 secs tops. I do agree with you on that Drunkard fight. By that point, you could've fought the same mid-boss type three times already, so it personally was pretty easy since I'd gotten decent at it, but I imagine it would be a pain if you don't manage it one go. The rest are pretty easygoing though, imo. There are like one or two exceptions with the Headless IIRC, but generally straightforward. And the proper bosses are always easy to get to. Some of the mid-bosses definitely require a bit of setup if you want to get a stealth deathblow off, sure, but that's a fair tradeoff I think.

I did get to the drunkard Juzo fight very early in the game. As in, I defeated the purple ninja by the pagoda without upgrades out of sheer stubbornness and I have to say, that dude was the game's real final boss.

In the end, I would say that it's a difference in experience, I recall many run backs being really tedious and annoying, but at this point there isn't much I can say other than summon up more examples. The one with the archer kidnapping guy on the rooftops was pretty annoying, though phase 1 itself was really awesome, I actually had fun fighting him.

I read a lot about Sekiro’s difficulty, and I was very wary about getting it for that reason, but in the end it was pretty alright. I dislike character action games because they’re so complex and difficult, for example, but Sekiro’s combat was just right in terms of what it asks of you that I was able to grasp it and get decent at it. There’s one optional boss at the end that’s a real pain, but the rest were super fun for me (Headless and Shichimen Warriors notwithstanding — the instant death mechanic sucks but at least they’re optional). I really loved the combat system to my own surprise. Never parried in the Souls games for example, but how Sekiro does it is much more forgiving by comparison.

Actually ended up going 100% with the achievements because I didn’t want to put it down! It’s not perfect by any stretch of the imagination and it is certainly demanding of the player, which you need to be up for, but I thought it was quite good.

If Infinite is poorly received Phil should just let id make the next Halo game. Reboot the entire thing.

At same time give Doom a rest for a while and let 343 make something else. They have so many dev teams and so much legacy ip now they have to let them be creative.
Who do they have that could make a proper Commander Keen platformer?

Sekiro is interesting because it's a steep learning curve, where the game becomes highly exploitable once you figure out it.
I never really understood how people complain about "roll spam souls" when in Sekiro Staggered R1 and L1 basically beats everything in the game.

Sekiro is secretly a rythm game in the end!
I beat Sekiro and I still never understood this, it just never clicked with me in that regard. For me definitely the hardest of the Soulslikes by FromSoft.

I much prefer the slower pace of Souls combat, and we've not had that for a while now.

I quite enjoyed Sekiro and love the game's combat. I've tried getting into the Dark Souls games, but the basic combat and the slow-paced gameplay turned me off every time. Of course, I haven't had the chance to delve too deeply into its combat since I haven't played them for more than an hour so my understanding of its mechanics might be wrong, however, I prefer action games where I can be on the offensive and defensive at the same time. As in, I don't have to back away and wait for some "stamina" bar to refill. Sekiro does that very well, where your defensive/counter moves also damage the enemy plus there's no stamina bar. I believe the DS games have parry mechanic, but it's very limited and slow? And outside of buffs, there's no way to recover Stamina aside from waiting for the bar to refill?

Initially, when I played Nioh 1, I was turned off by the "KI" bar/mechanic, but the game gives you plenty of options to recover KI during an offense. Once you get KI fluxes, you can essentially have an unlimited KI pool. It just depends on the player, whether they're willing to master its core mechanics.

I think it’s more like the flow state you get into like in rhythm games, whereby you intuitively feel what’s coming up next. That’s what Sekiro felt like at its best, when you’re just attacking and deflecting. The perilous attacks break up that rhythm a little bit, because there’s less space for error. I’m still not entirely sure how I feel about that mechanic. I think I’d have liked it more if the perilous attacks were color coded by type (thrust, grab, sweep).

Rayman 2 PC, take note of the following

1. This is the GOG ver. which utilizes nGlide, and in turn nGlide is using Vulkan API
2. I am using a fan patch for widescreen
3. The visuals could be better if some method of enabling DiretctX to it is done either via nGlide or another wrapper, esp. if AA can be utilized

Someone should hack the Stadia controller firmware and make it compatible with local devices over WiFi. In fact, Google should open it up. Not like they're gonna need it in a year or so and we should be avoiding electronic waste.

As someone who makes use of in-home streaming a lot, having one controller I can take to another room and continue playing without going through pairing again would be amazing.

Plus you could set it up for Wake on LAN to turn your PC on ala games consoles.

Seems like a good idea to hoard of couple of gifts for sinking city
You can't store gifts that way any longer, and there will probably be a proper version as soon as all of this is settled. Hopefully, at least! Would be a shame to be stuck with this version.

Anyway I don't think it has any inherent value right now, especially considering it's missing the DLC and extra features such as achievements and cloud saves.

This! I loved the perilous attack parries, but I don't like having to read a sometimes confusing animation to know which one to do in a split-second.

can't wait for Final Fantasy VII Part 6: Sephiroth goes to Summer Camp Ultimate Director's Cut 012 Duodecim 356/2 Days EX+ Alpha Champion Edition on the PS8, Xbox Series Γ and PC 2 in Spring 2043
If only I had a Game Boy Advanced Meta-Cloud to play it! Shameful decision to not put the whole series on PSBOX7😭

I take it from the "more news soon" that they will release their own version (the one PS5 got).
They already released (as response to court order telling them to NOT do so).
It was taken down by DCMA as by courts order Nacon legally has rights fro now.

Frogwares is probably right (assuming they told truth), but they probably should just wait for final decision.

Don't know who this Nellinson is but he is spamming Frogwares tweet with "devs are lying, the court gives right to Nacon".

And snitching to Nacon about Frogwares tweet.

Dafuck.

Oh, ok. Looks like he's a french speaking racist. Great. Retweeting almost everything about video games and only tweeting on his own to say "racism is an opinion, everyone have the right to have an opinion" or "All devs should be supported, not only certain ones." in response to Raw Fury Black Voices in Gaming event. :suicide-blob: 1.5k followers, including a lot of dev studios :suicide-blob:

While MIGHT BE, they must hold the game out of the platforms under Nacon's right until a resolution comes out.

In fact, I don't know if releasing a game under a completely different sku would be even legal or grey area.
