Dune looks like real-time Civilization game. I hoped for something akin to C&C, but it's still nice to see RTS genre is alive and pretty well.
Not gonna lie, this is the highlight of the patch for me.
- Added a "Toggle walking" option when playing with keyboard. It is activated by pressing G during exploration. The key can be rebinded in Settings.
Not sure it's real-time. I mean it sure looks that way but then again you have the typical Ressources +xx in the top part of the UI, something that looks very turn based.Dune looks like real-time Civilization game. No DLSS Update? Some more notable changes for PC:Patch 1.5 & Next-Generation Update — list of changes
This patch contains various gameplay fixes and improvements, the next-gen update, as well as free DLCs.www.cyberpunk.net
STABILITY AND PERFORMANCE
- HDD Mode has now an auto-detection option. When enabled, it automatically detects which drive the game is installed on, and, if neccessary, boosts data loading and crowd activity at the expense of crowd variety, extra loading screens, and less detail in the streets when driving fast.
- Added AMD FidelityFX™ Super Resolution (FSR) 1.0 algorithm, replacing Contrast Adaptive Sharpening (CAS). On PC it can be enabled in Settings > Graphics > Resolution Scaling. The option is not configurable on consoles.
- Multiple fixes and improvements related to stability and optimization.
PC-SPECIFIC
- Added a benchmark mode. You can find it in Settings > Run Benchmark.
- Added a "Toggle walking" option when playing with keyboard. It is activated by pressing G during exploration. The key can be rebinded in Settings.
- Enabled transparent ray-traced reflections on glossy coating of some cars.
- Enabled Variable Rate Shading (VRS). This feature boosts rendering performance and visual quality by varying the shading rate for different regions of the frame. Available only on compatible hardware.
- Fixed an issue which blocked Resolution Scaling on AMD graphics cards when Ray Tracing was enabled.
And I obviously didn't watch the endIt literally says "A DUNE 4X REAL-TIME STRATEGY GAME" at the end >_>
Sins of a Solar Empire on Arrakis surface terrain instead of space I guess.
VRS sounds like it could be a decent boon for performance. Looking forward to playing this after work. Some more notable changes for PC:Patch 1.5 & Next-Generation Update — list of changes

Seems like they still didn't bring back the option to never combine items in the taskbar, so no thanks, I'll stick to Win10 until this feature returns. (I know there's 3rd party tools to bring that feature back or replace the Win11 taskbar with the Win10 one, but if I have to rely on 3rd party tools, I rather stick to Win10 for as long as I don't need to upgrade to 11).
I was genuinely thinking "wait, didnt it already have all these things?."...huhSeems like they still didn't bring back the option to never combine items in the taskbar, so no thanks, I'll stick to Win10 until this feature returns. Hi all,
Hope everyone’s doing well – 10 days and counting until launch day! We have some exciting news to share. If you watched our Take a look inside Steam Deck video (aka the “please don’t do this” video), you may remember we said certain Steam Deck replacement parts would be available for purchase.
Today, we’re announcing that iFixit will be one of the authorized sellers of Steam Deck replacement parts – as well as replacement parts for the Valve Index VR kit. We are still hammering out the details, and will be sharing more info on this soon.
And in case you missed it, don’t forget to check out iFixit’s teardown of Steam Deck just posted today.

I think I'll abstain(and why you shouldn't)
Ugh. I get this too. It's rare, but when it does happen I can't launch anymore steam games or do anything until I restart my whole PC. Even if I close the client entirely and end all Steam related processes.I really need some help here. It is driving me nuts. Steam thinks processes are running, but they aren't. Phantom processes. It doesn't matter the game. Doesn't matter how I exit a game. God forbid I restart the client, yes it happens after that too.
How can I fix this? Only rebooting my system works. Killing steam process doesn't work nor does offline to online >.>
I don't think 12 is that weird.Elden Ring PC reqs are back. Those leaked ones were right? 12GB is such a weird number for a min spec. Why 12?
of course now i cant find it, but i remember those devs saying how much they wanted to support epic and what theyre doing etc.Dev: It's permanently EGS exclusive
Me:
Dev/pub: Valve's cut is totally unfair, we will therefore be supporting Epicof course now i cant find it, but i remember those devs saying how much they wanted to support epic and what theyre doing etc.
so. erm. yeah.
Yeah, Europe servers are a shitshow."Watch 4 hours of Twitch and get some drops for Lost Ark"
For the past ~2 hours and it started with crashes and now this:

I've quoted it for you in the EGS thread. But yeah, these devs can f*ck off.of course now i cant find it, but i remember those devs saying how much they wanted to support epic and what theyre doing etc.

We already live in a dystopia, so if at least we get back glam rock and dope cars that break down all the time, that's a plus.Yeah let's bring back the deloran! and member's only jacket! and COCAINE!
GLAM HAIR ROCK! REAGANOMICS! COLD WAR BULLSHIT!
HELL YEAH THE 80's are back
jfc what a bunch of dweebs and dorks. YEAH PITCHFORKS FER EVERYONE!
Yeah, the quests are pretty whatever. Though I do appreciate that they are quick and never have you backtrack at all, they are always done on the way to the next main story location and are turned it at the next main story location.Lost Ark levelling is so boring though.
I could just blow away monsters for hours, the combat is that good, but the quest design, fucking hell is it stuck in the past. Feels kinda like FF14 in pacing actually... with less story.
It's even stupider when you look at endgame boss fights... which have more voice acting and more ridiculous cut scenes than the entire levelling experience...
ty! i have that thread on mute but i checked your posting now and it lines up with what i remember, yeahI've quoted it for you in the EGS thread. But yeah, these devs can f*ck off.

Maybe once Proton on Linux settles, with a very high number of game running perfectly, Valve will port it to Mac too. Wine itself should work on macOS too. The bigger issue would be getting Vulcan support. Maybe Valve could revisit their shim from Vulcan to Metal again.Yeah I just have a Mac, I could use my old MacBook Pro with windows on it to try but doubt it could run it well.
