Started playing Children of Morta. I should try out different characters before casting judgment I guess, but I do have to say that I'm surprised they made a sword character with a basic attack string of only two (!) consecutive attacks... And there's a slightly different attack you can do if you attack while blocking, but I think that's it? Maybe also coming out of the dodge that you can use every five seconds. I suppose this is something that might gets expanded as you level the character up or something, but it doesn't really feel good to play in any case. I think literally just adding a third attack to the string would've done a lot.
The sword and board guy is probably the weakest at low level, and the least interesting. And in general, not very good considering how slow he is despite his lack of reach.
So of course they start you with him.

I swapped to the archer almost instantly and the game felt oh so much better.

Mt. Whatever
ughhhh. Square-Enix i hate you.

Whatever updates the FF pixel remasters got between now and September broke my save file. It won't load... Just sits on the "Now loading..." screen forever. 😢

8 hours of work, flushed.
Ok, for anyone who runs into this BS also.

This is a modded Unityplayer.dll from the FF modding community found here:

With this, my saves loaded instantly. Idk why or how. But man... as always Modders save the day for Square's sorry ass. :cautious:

we have 3 version of statement about the steampage resurfasing

V1 vs V2 (both were supposedly quickly removed )

and current version (aka the one i noticed when i came back to the thread)

Stick with it. You’ll quickly unlock other family members that are way more fun to play.

How to fix Cyberpunk 2077 not launching on Proton:

Cyberpunk 2077 (1091500) · Issue #4450 · ValveSoftware/Proton
thats bonkers
especially since the game already ran perfectly with Proton before. they mustve broken something with 1.5

seems like its much more hilarious :-D

Looking at number huh? Well I did my part by putting the game on my ignore list. You're welcome

All the No Man's Sky updates I've missed are really nice. I don't know which one did it, but the new build menu is sooooo much better.

I also like how the addition of DLAA confirms that basically nothing can properly resolve this weird noise pattern that the ship minimap uses:

Aside from rendering with DSR, I guess. The game does run a good amount better than it did before, but not enough for that.

Atlus is announcing something related to Soul Hackers. I don't know if this project will come to PC, but you never know.

I bet it is a mobile game. No way they would suddenly announce a mainline game when they are focusing on Project Re:Fantansy and those Persona stuff (unless all of them are not games).

Bummed out by disappointing recent games?
You need to play Vampire Survivors. It's $3 US. And fun as hell. You don't need to press lots of buttons, and it controls excellent with mouse+kb or controller.

But QFNS, I hear you say, what sort of definitely not Castlevania weapons can you get? Great question.

All of them. You want a cross? Done. Whip? Yes. Santa Water (not legally actionable holy water)? Here it is.

And you're gonna need them. The screen quickly fills with smarms of enemies that you must dodge and collect their xo drops to become more powerful, get more weapons, and continue the fight.

This game is seriously addicting, and for the low entry of $3 (no MTX, no DLC) you can enjoy it all. It even has cheat codes, secret characters, and rogue like progression to help you conquer the runs. Runs are hard capped at 30min so they doing even take that long.

Seriously great game. People should remember this one for GoTY.

Is anyone a xbox pass ultimate subscriber? I'm trying to see the current list of perks they have for in game content for a game I play but I currently can't see what the current line up is. Can anybody help?

Edit: Think I found it. Had to install their app.

I don't know if it is just common sense guess or inside knowledge but still

He's not reliable at all. Plus the dude's a racist piece of shit that has a history of being a bully online. I called him out few months ago and he blocked me straight away. For anyone who's interested in reading more about this i'll link the thread below so more people are aware about his bullshit.

So many garbage people in this hobby. And for all the good Valve does for PC gaming, it will never stop being disappointing how much cover they are giving to hateful groups by refusing to tackle it on their platform. There are so many incredibly racist games coming to Steam. How the hell does a company that is probably earning more money than most big publishers not afford some kind of basic moderation into what games get published on their store? That's not even curation, just keep complete filth and garbage away from one of the biggest platforms on the internet.

Yeah Value should do a bit more to stop the rubbish. Maybe employ a small team to do an eyeball check on each game before it releases to catch stuff that's blatant?

How many games release on Steam a day? I imagine its a fair few, They have the money though so even a check of the game title and a browse of the screenshots should pick up most dodgy shit? How big a team would that need?

Could be a remake/remaster handled by a different studio.

Wow, this is something I'd like to learn the technical reason for. I can only imagine it's something silly video driver level that the game isn't initiating and the OS no longer automatically initiates...

[disclaimer: I've never done any actual low level graphics driver / OS programming stuff]
You're in luck:

The official JP Persona account and Atlus West tweeted about it. Hopefully it's something bigger in scope than a mobile game.

Edit: This might also be the February Persona announcement. Dunno how Soul Hackers would tie into Persona though.

An odd choice. Maybe because it's a safe and familiar archetype in games, but the way they made him play is surprisingly dull.

I tried out the archer and her mobility alone makes it a lot more enjoyable. Still doesn't feel quite as snappy as I'd like. Something about how you control where you shoot is a little awkward. Seems like I might be close to unlocking some guy with daggers. Maybe after I beat this first boss.

It's perhaps an unfair comparison given the wealth of expertise at Supergiant, but I redownloaded Hades to see if I wasn't just being overly picky, and that definitely feels a lot better in my hands. What stood out most was how the combat has a more pleasant flow of engagement and disengagement, partly due to enemy attacks being signaled better, which allows you to be less conservative in your play, more on the offense without having had to play the game a bunch to internalize enemy's patterns. A degree of pattern recognition is still demanded, but it's got a lower threshold because of stronger visual cues.

Warhammer 3 with 147k ccu so far. Despite being on game pass and EGS.

Biggest Total War launch and biggest SEGA launch.

Steam truly is a juggernaught. I can see why SEGA considers Steam vital to them.
Wasn't that EGSlusive (Troy?) bigger launch? :p
