Yeah, too many good looking games are releasing these days. It's part of why waiting for PS5 to be restocked isn't as hard as I thought it would be. Currently my gaming time is right now 85% PC, 10% Switch, 4% XboneX and 1% PS4, or something like that.

My PS4 isn't really in use. I have Dreams, Crash 4 and FFVIIR installed, but Dreams isn't something that interest me much and Im waiting on a PC version of Crash 4 and FFVIIR.

XboneX is used for Xbox game pass games, but I don't play much there in general, have some EA games installed though like FIFA 20 and UFC from game pass.

Switch is basically the only console I use these days, but I don't play that much on it either, mostly just Grindstone, AC New Horizons, Splatoon 2, Mario Maker 2 and MK8D. I have yet to touch my copy of Pokemon Sword and Paper Mario. So basically an Nintendo exclusive device.

Lol at everyone who thought MS would make Gold free for the new generation. It's free money for them. No doubt Game Pass will become more expensive in the future as well.

The Xbox gold increase 40$ to 60$ for 6 months is crap and makes me happy Im on PC. Unless something changes my current plan is also to let my game pass ultimate end in summer 2022 (it lasts till then). Still using it as a glorified demo service.

I can easily see Sony increasing the price for PS Plus too. I ended my Plus in january 202o and have no intention to resub.

Gaming gonna be more expensive in general, but it will be most expensive on consoles.

Has anyone tried Ender Lilies yet? It looks interesting, though it is early access. I should probably hold off.

So many releases this month into next month. Persona 5 Strikers, Yakuza collection, Everspace 2, Dyson Sphere, Ryza, Utawaremono, Nioh 2 and I could go on... holy toledo. :dizzy-face:

Yep, every sub does it, but I doubt it'll be drastic stuff.
My Netflix, Amazon, Spotify haven't increased significantly over the years, and I expect the same from GPU
 
In general, console gaming is getting more and more expensive every year. 70$/80€/95$ (Scandinvaia) for Sony first party games, Xbox Gold increase, definetly PS Plus and game pass increase in the future etc.

PS gaming is costly (especially if you wanna go high-end) upfront, but much cheaper in the long-end. Even more if you decide to have 2 or more consoles.

finished Donut County last night on Game Pass. man, what a delightful game

also, I only just became aware that there's a gaming version of Letterboxd. this will be handy, as someone who has trouble remembering exactly what games I've played over the past month or so

I can only imagine how expensive that would cost. It could easily be north of 25B or more right? Sheesh, the market consolidation would be unreal given some of the recent acquisitions.

Console gaming is getting so expensive I think its getting impractical for console gamers to own both Xbox/PS. Too many services, subs, games and commitments. Doesn't make sense to own both as you are flushing money down the toilet basically.

I think best combinations are

Switch/PC
PS5/PC
PS5/Switch
Xbox/Switch

Or just a nice PC heheh.

Nintendo really has an opportunity to gain a lot of ground on both PS5/XsX if the new Switch has better battery life and a decent power leap to really take advantage of 3rd party.

There's been so much boogey man scaremongering about tencent for years now and nothing has happened.
With Tencent it's just been the same as any other M&A far as I can see. I'd be more worried if it was EA or something as they actually have a track record.
