Some guy sent me a PM and linked to an alternative web page for ResetEra/GAF community. He is already deleted though
Some guy also sends me an unsolicited DM on Discord last week promoting that same website. When I check the mutual servers it was one of the unofficial ERA Discord from the GAF exodus way back then.

Took a gander at the site just for a bit of laugh, and...

For my own curiosity I checked the forum out and the first thread I see is Is PC gaming still a thing in 2020?
... I ended up laughing even harder. :dana_blanket:

Also, for a site that's already been up for a year, there's no anime OT on the first page of their off-topic subforum, so the site is pretty much dead to me.

People who played/are playing Saga Scarlet Grace I need your help! Played a bit of the beginning and I'm already confused!
What confuses me is that there are tons of informations in the stat/battle menus, but nothing is explained.
Like I see there are elements, some icons I have no idea what they mean, stats I don't know how they work... I see the game explain things AFTER they happened.
I see characters learn new skills, but I have no idea how they do that. No idea what different weapons do.

WHAT SHOULD I DO??

Kinda confusing when the game mentions united attacks but they are explained after when you accidentally trigger them.

JEEZ, man! Bet that was satisfying as all hell! GG!!
Super satisfying, ugh, orgasm! XCOM2 Ironman/Legendary is soooooooooo stressful. This is probably my 30th attempt lmao. That final fight in legendary difficulty is ridiculous, I just beelined into the last avatar as the game was spawning 9 codexes and a gatekeeper, and vipers (easy pickings but unbinding allies is turn-wasting)

The game certainly won't make an attempt to hold your hand (it's kind of the staple of SaGa series) and the difficuly is steep for beginners. What I can suggest is to consult the in-game encyclopaedia from the main menu often, since it will have all the information you need, and it will be constantly updated as you progress through the game.

Secondly, don't be afraid to explore and experiement (yes, you can even try the enemies marked as "hard" early on to test your strategies). Remember that positioning and formation is important. Try to get as many skill glimmer early on, and don't hoard your materials. Spend it.

Enjoy my personal 2019 GOTY and Mondo is best boy!

Looks like Codemasters removed Grid Autosport from Steam without any warning.

Buy earlier, play much much later...

Honestly I think the days of Star Citizen looking like the best visual benchmark on PC are numbered.

After seeing more and more of the new Cyberpunk footage it just looks like its gonna easily up one SC on a beefy PC later this year. Especially after a few patches to fix the launch bugs and glitches.

I know SC is doing a lot of other things with flying, space, planets, multiplayer scope and everything.

But Cyberpunk is gonna be massive with rpg options and city density. The art direction is really incredible. Also a big desert area just appeared out of nowhere. Knowing CDPR will wrap it all up in some amazing story or stories makes it even more special as well. It will also have DLSS2.0 and Ray tracing too.

The density and sheer beauty of those CP77 shots can't be understated. But the feelings of scale you can feel in SC can't be either.

I don't want to be dragged in a comparison war between two games I love, I would just say they both have things that only they do and I am grateful they both exist at all.

I'm really dumb. Does any one know how APR works? I am thinking about getting a car loan but I also want to know how much would I be paying in fees and stuff (so the interest that I would be paying for each month) I feel like this is a very simple thing and yet it feels like you can't find it.

As an example

car: $17000USD
APR 10%
Term: 24 months
down payment: $13000USD
Tax,fees, etc : $2000 USD

Amount financing $6000USD

Monthly Pay: $272 USD

I can pay off that $6kUSD in about 6 months, so how much would I be paying for in interest fees from this?

I thought this was all going to be a lot simpler but I guess not

Why is buying a car such a difficult thing?

By the way I am the type of person that will spend hours if not days just finding out what is the something to buy type of thing and will just spend days on it.

It took me weeks just to figure out which monitor to get. I think it took me like a month to figure out what phone to get.

By the way the two types of cars that I plan to get are between a Honda CR-Z or a 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback

Vroom Vroom

I wonder if it would just be better to ask for a personal loan or something like that. Since I plan to pay all of this in less than a year and do month payments of $1,5kUSD

Edit:

I looked more into this and It looks like with 10% I would be paying about $455 USD in just interest (that is a whole weeks pay check for me) if I was to pay it off in 7 months. It was was something closer to 4% then I would only be paying about $175USD in interest.

Wow, are their Bank Tycoon games?

Oh and I have been trying to contact Best Buy to find out if they can ship my copy of Death Stranding so that I can get it at release.

Also did you all know about this?

I mean for that price they could have at least tried going the THQ way and release part of the game on disc.

If it works like over here: You'd have to pay the full interest rate for the full duration of the negotiated loan contract.
That would be around $1260 (+fees). Be careful, there is often a substantial amount left at the end of the contract that you are supposed to give them when it runs out. This helps in making the monthly payments smaller and the rate more attractive. Shitty tactic often used for financing cars over here.
But all that stuff must be detailed in the contract before signing. If you see something you dislike the last moment before singing, you are always allowed to back out.

If somebody is willing to give you a private loan, with zero interest obviously go for that. In general, before taking any kind of credit, check all possibilities. I've found that my house bank is often willing to give me better rates than car dealerships etc.

Ten percent would be considered a lot over here btw, but I have no idea how the U.S. system works. I once read that you need to build a score from the early days by buying things on credit and then paying that off, if you eventually want to get a big loan for a car or a house.
While here you must stay as debt free as possible, work at the same place for a substantial amount of time, never miss payments and your accounts are not allowed to be in the red.

Skimming Death Stranding piece on PCGamer... damn, this stupid take again !
'In terms of performance, the game runs well on my PC. That's with an RTX 2080 Super, 16GB of RAM, and an Intel Core i7-9700K, running at 4K/60 fps.'
...
Same reaction as always : I hope so, motherfucker ! :so-good-blob:

Granted 4k/60 is not an evidence for every game, but this trend of writing that your Nasa rig is running a game well is beyond me :shrugblob:

I feel like I should have looked at things more and asked some more questions.

All of the places have been asking me about a "down payment" but for some reason my bank didn't ask that. I think I am going to have to give them a call about it. I was denied the loan because of how much I make vs what I was asking for. I guess they taught I wanted $17K USD when in reality I just needed $7K USD.... if they still tell me no.... F since I think my credit went down by like 50 points after all of this. Well at least I have one place that I can get my loan from if I really want it to. Also there was one more place that I did apply to. I applied to 3 places in total. One did pre-approve but at 10% and that is for $7k USD. The second place I have not heard any news from back yet though.

Well this is all a learning experience

I thought that PC Gamer also does a think where they run games on much lower hardware as well to show how well it scales or did they stop doing that since other already do it instead?

Remember my (little) rant a few weeks back about Zero Time Dilemma and how disappointing it was?

I AM SORRY KOTARU UCHIKOSHI!

I finished AI the Somnium Files.
Without the gameplay elements, it would have been a Visual Novel masterpiece.
I don't agree with you on ZTD being that terrible, but yeah, AI was great (and certainly much better).

It was sent to exclusive people 😎
It's silly though, we already are on a forum that is exactly what was described.

I think someone wants to monetize it. (IMHO, monetization -- beyond just covering the cost of operations -- is the beginning of the end)

If this delivers — which I have no doubt it will — it will be the most impressive trilogy of games to date, in my humble opinion as a lifelong games appreciator. IOI‘s work is a masterclass in player agency and level design. I can’t wait to see how Hitman 3 turns out. So glad they got picked up by WB. What a shame it would’ve been if we never got Hitman 2, let alone 3. Hope that this game does well and IOI can continue to self publish.

I hope they get rid of time-exclusive elusive targets
I think them being "elusive" in that way is part of the appeal, but I agree that it would be nice for them to eventually be available again as replayable missions, even though they would then lack the unique tension and exhilaration of pursuing a one-off target.
