It bounced hard off me when I got it at launch. Went back a month or two later and finished and enjoyed it, didn't love it though.
I platinumed it (played it for two weeks) and the longer I played the more I hated it.
It isn't a bad game. I just think your time is better spent somewhere else, given how much praise it got.

I think it is my biggest gripe with exclusive games (not limited to consoles, mind you), they tend to be overhyped. I hope I don't get banned for saying this, but for years people hyped up the Civ / Total War games as 'pinnacle of PC gaming' and when I got to play one thought it was the most boring shit ever.

I find Civ boring and only tolerate the Warhammer Total War games because it's Warhammer.

I summon you to answer for this;

HOW DARE YOU

Far Cry 5 was just as good. I'll defend that shit to the death!!!!!!!!!!

Haven't even considered getting the Spider-Man DLC but I've jumped on the Far Cry 5 DLC like giant waterbed.

CIV 5 is also PC gaming god, NarohDethan

BAN THE WITCH

Edit: Real Talk; Marketing departments go way overboard on the exclusives shit and hand review copies out like candy so EVERYONE has a review of it on day 1. Therefore, everyone is talking about them and of course if people are talking then it MUST be worth checking out.

yup thats pretty much my experience with both Sony and Nintendo scloosies (+ RDR2) . people always describe them as second coming of jeebus .. and when i got to play them i was ultimately dissapointed even though they all are pretty damn fine games , the discrepancy between the "hyped decription form people" and "my own experinec" was just too big.

Also dosnt help that i am absolutely bad with gamepads on FPS/TPS games

I'd do all FarCry 5 drugged missions in a row again before touching spiderman in the near future.

A board game version for Contra is available for pre-order right now.

I'm really interested in this since it is playable solo.

as for these two titles, they are pretty specific. definitely not for everyone and imo quite hard to get into , especially if you are from console background and never tried game like this before

I don’t get on with RTS games in general. I like 4X a little more, but Civ is not really for me either. I’d like to get into a grand strategy game like CK2, but it seems so impenetrable.

I really want FS2020 but the regional pricing and even the euro "+30% because we like money" conversion are severely putting me off.

Also it's too hot :(.

As I have been discussing on my Twitter timeline for a few days already, it's just mind blowing how much the scene has changed in all possible aspects, not only we have a wider variety of genres but also how many companies have considered PC/Steam as a viable market for an additional revenue stream.

AMAZING!

Its a brilliant move by Microsoft. There is really no argument against it.

Games like Grounded and Flight Simulator are tailored towards PC gamers anyways.

And lets be realistic. MCC and Sea of Thieves sold to about as many console gamers as they could sell it to. There are no more Xbox owners they can sell those old Halo games to. SoT basically peaked with Xbox and PC gamepass like 1 year ago. Bringing those games to new Steam audience is the easiest $$$ they will ever make. Its a lot of $$$.

Nintendo and Sony should be doing the same thing if they want easy money. Sony is basically doing it with Horizon but hopefully its much more after that because there is only so much they can sell to PS4 owners. You got to bring these big games to a new audience.

Releasing on PC is a no-brainer once you get over the mental hurdle of seeing PC as a competing platform, which Sony has for a long time; they once talked about making PS4 Pro to stop people from buying gaming PCs, and that worked well.

So long as Sony isn't releasing their games on Xbox, and Microsoft not releasing their games on PlayStation, going multiplatform with their first party releases is going to get some extra mileage out of those games with an audience they've not been able to reach before.
