I remember when I was gaming on my old PC (now my media/surfing PC) with my then 5-year-old Graphics card and the time it took to go to the graphics menu and set the quality WAY down because my PC was overheating heavily. Nervously bouncing with my knees/legs.

Or when you are in the unskippable tutorial/start of the game and you just want to get into the menu to adjust sound levels because music is too loud, voices are too low, or there are no subtitles.
Or you just want to see what is inside your inventory!

yup, all of that as well ... extremely annoying

So we can agree that we all hate unskippable:
Logos
Tutorials
Cutscenes
Credit rolls

Also when there is an unskippable race in a racing game before the game starts and BEFORE you can remap/calibrate your wheel/controller. Unskippable gameplay events before the game even starts really annoy me.

I don't know, I rather like leaving the logo and credit rolls on. It gives me time to write a post on meta about how much I liked the game (or not). :flare_lmao:

Having said that though, I appreciate it a lot if the OP movie can be disabled from the options menu.

There are 3 versions of Donald Duck Goin' Quackers, far as non-handheld devices are concered:

Version 1 is the DC/N64/PC version. They all look identical save for compromises on respective consoles. Dreamcast ver. is 30 FPS sadly.
PC version is 60 FPS, though some animations look weird, like they are just sped up. DGvoodoo can be used to inject AF and anti aliasing.

Version 2 is the Playstation ver. Visuals wise, it is fine for PSOne but can pale compared to PC/DC. Still a solid platformer and one I recommend if you like platerformers of that era.

Version 3 is the PS2/GC version. This one is vastly different from its predecessors and includes a score mechanic which can encourage replayability for getting a high score (you can even save your initials!)

This leaves the Gameboy and GBA versions whicha re their own separate games.

You are all going into Hideo Kojima's blacklist! :grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes:
Plot twist: Kojima is on a lot of peep's blacklist already :smart-thinking-blob:

Any opinions on PGA '21?

Recent Mario Golf buzz has me itching to dig into a more realistic golf game.

I know that HB Studios has steadily been increasing the quality of the (formerly titled Golf Club) franchise and I also understand that it's not as deep or polished as the old EA PGA titles. So I guess I'm going in knowing it's an also-ran kinda deal. But the current discount seems fair to take a chance on.

My two primary concerns are single-player depth and mouse swing controls. Won't be playing online and won't be using a controller. I'd be less hesitant if 2K1 featured 3-click swing mode, but sadly it only seems to be pull back/push forward variety, so I'm a little worried how that plays with a mouse. And on single-player, progressive unlocks in career mode were a great carrot to lead me through on the old Tiger Woods titles, so I'm curious if 2K1 can satisfy that itch.

Anyway, I'll prob. bite either way. Just curious if there's any strong opinions one way or the other.

Find and rename the intro movie or movies, if the game crashes, create empty text documents and rename them to the original movie name, if the game still complains then find blank movie files of the file-type used and rename them to match the original movie names.

One of the first things i do after a couple of launches is to remove/rename as many intro movie files as i can.

So I'm thinking of PAUSING the current bundle to see if Hamble will give an offer over the next week, so I can get this bundle for cheaper

We plan to add graphics options in a future update

Not gonna lie, I almost respect how shameless this is.

I've been away a few days, I have to read the whole thread, but as of the 26th of June I'm now officially a HUSBANDO

Congrats!

Is this legit?

I can't quite figure it out because the Microsoft Games Research Team seems to be an actual thing

It looks fake to me, partially due to the fact that they offer to pay for the work.

If this is their Twitter account, I would say it is fake.

Maybe ask SUR@microsoft.com (found below) if the offer is legit. Or reply to the email (msgur@microsoft.com) to see if they can receive emails.

Good idea, i have both, written to SUR questioning if the offer is legit, and to MSGUR that i would like to have confirmation of their legitimacy.

I haven't played it, but a friend I trust told me it's the best golf game out there.

Wow, I am shocked that KT/TN released an update. I totally expected the collection to be abandoned.

Oh for fuck’s sake, I must be in a very bad place because I spent the evening looking at Wow videos and toying with the idea of getting back in. Haven’t played since Wrath.

But their new player experience looks so confusing.
