Downunder.
You gotta love how many Japanese ultra-niche games are coming to Steam lately, this for example is an ex-switch exclusive.
Iirc this series has a specialised driving controller (much like steering wheel controller for racing games)

EDIT: My mistake. I originally thought this was Densha de Go.

DDG indeed has a controller for it, though.

probably gonna skip this month yet again tbh - already played Call of the Sea on Game Pass, already own Superhot, I am Fish is currently on Game Pass, and I want Pumpkin Jack and Gamedec but not that much
Kind of torn on the humble.
I have Gamedec and Call of the Sea wishlisted, and I could be into Pumpkin Jack, but the rest I either already have or not interested.

:blobweary:
check the giveaways for pumpking jack and call of the sea :)

i really have no idea what they're trying to achieve by doing this, but i'm gonna go on a limb and say, that pricing, like, half (if not more) of your customer base out of your game and DLC is probably not very smart, lol:

(Iberia pricing, but they did it for pretty much all of the DLCs and both ETS and ATS base games)

Sega ain't even hiding it anymore. From the Datamine for the latest PSO2 update:

There's been Plausibly Deniable™ knockoffs of Genshin character hairstyles in the past few asset-drops but this one (Well, just the Ears this time) just takes the cake. Things are bad enough with the billion and one Fate/Stay Tamamo-no-Mae cosplay characters, now we're going to have to deal with these ones on top of that.

Is there any reason not to cancel my Humble Classic plan once I finally get a last month that I don't skip? Their shit is so weird now that I can't tell if there are any benefits to keeping it instead of outright canceling.
No. I usually pause everytime I didn't want it out of habit, but I cancelled yesterday since there really are no benefits anymore.

This months Humble is alright for me. Last month was nothing, but this month I'll take at least half of those titles. Especially since FeedMeAStrayCat was nice enough to give me Superhot a while back, now I can have the sequel too!! :hugging-face:

That said, of course i understand the weariness people have and tiredness too. Another month where the big-game is Origin Key... it has me nervous too.
=======

Unrelated to games. Since i moved to a new State, of course I have to transfer my driver license/id. Today I collected all the necessary documents and did that process. But it's not all good news. During the vision test i almost failed! Cover my right eye, read all the letters at distance just fine and quick as hell. Cover my left eye? Everything my right eye sees is blurry as fuck and tbh? I had to guess by general shape a lot of the letters. I really struggled. The lady almost didn't pass me, I don't even know why I was given so much time/chances i literally stood there for what felt like an eternity trying to make out the letters with my right eye. In the end, i scraped by out of sheer luck, i felt really bad... almost guilty. Maybe i shouldn't be driving if my right eye is so bad?

I'm gonna get to an Eye doctor and see what the deal is. Maybe new glasses will have me fixed up easy as? I'm really worried though. You look online and see stuff like Cataracts or Brain tumors as causes for one-eye problems and I mean, I just got over my colon cancer.... I don't wanna hear next there is a tumor in my freaking brain/optic nerve you know? And I just got super passionate about digital art too. Got piles and piles of books, paying for online courses, invested in a good drawing tablet and setup, etc... I think to myself if my eye is screwed, can i still make it as an artist?

Well, I'll try to take it easy and not worry so much, hopefully it really is just something simple that new prescription glasses can fix. :geek:

I hope this comes to Steam. I also hope that the original Minecraft comes to Steam.
It would be really cool to have them on Steam, yeah.

Now that the merging process has been completed I wouldn't discard seeing Minecraft on Steam too with Xbox account login and all.

Minecraft RTS sounds great tbh.

guy is now saying TLOU part 1 for PC

gonna start on the obligatory bingo for sgf now that Kojumbo is there
Highly doubt considering Sony didn't release Uncharted remasters day 1 alongside PS5 release but 6 to 8 months later... We will see, I don't trust that account, something seems to be off

If they are legit then that could be a Sony State of Play date in September (which has been rumored) where they announce the remaster, not the actual pc release date.

Also it could mean something like Final Fantasy 7 Remake on Gamepass which would be an announcement for Sunday.

this, didn't we quite recently have a thought experiment on leakers?

I was thinking specifically in this video.

Both Schreir and Henderson follow him so it may be credible

Mandatory:

Not saying it's impossible, just saying something doesn't smell well for me with that account and I'm not really seeing this as a Day 1 thing at this moment, of course it's coming, but not sure about the day 1 part.

yeah I also don't see day 1 happening , which is why I went through mental gymnastics to try prove that it could either be a different game or day of announcement. Would love to be proven wrong, but it (and it feels strange to say) feels like too many Sony games in a short period.

Rise + Sunbreak for me this month probably, and potentially a whole lot of stuff for the Deck in the summer seal :evilblob: 💸 :face-with-cold-sweat:
Well, I picked up Rise shortly after posting this at the beginning of the month

Really liking it a lot (also runs great on the Deck). I mained Switch-Axe in World, but went Longsword here and I'm loving it.
Pulling of the counters is sooooo satisfying.

Also this summer seal is going to be brutal on the wallet, cause the Steam Deck has immensely increased my VN clearing speed, which means I need more VNs to feed it. :face-with-cold-sweat:

gosh that reminds me so much of the mental marathon that was arguing with Sony fanboys about Crash Bandicoot trilogy coming to other platforms.

"no no, it will never happen and it shouldn't!"
...later...
"well duh of course it would happen you'd have to be stupid to think it'd stay exclusive"
Gosh, i will never forget this idiocracy.
The absolute mental gymnastics and gaslighting of sony fans over fucking videogame exclusivity is out of the world

Gerstmann must be smoking that strong Cali weed because I really don't see the point of a Minecraft RTS.

The vanilla game is already an RTS in both theory and design. All they need to do is add a top down isometric camera and you got yourself an RTS so...:huhblob:

The guy didn't mention The Last of Us, they only said "Part 1 - 02/09/2022", and I remember Kojima's rumored cloud game was supposed to be episodic.
Furthermore, Tom Henderson and Nibel removed their tweets regarding Overdose

EDIT: now Henderson seems to have restored the tweet

The more I look at monster collecting games the more I'm surprised that with the success of the pokemon IP there are so few games with monster collecting.

Regardless of my personal taste the games that Ascheroth listed plus the ones I mentioned don't look like a lot of games while there are lot of similar games to story of seasons and stardew valley that keep popping up, all of them seem to be decent and seem to have their own quirks too!
Admittely I guess it's a lot of effort to create like 100+ monsters within a rock-paper-scissors system and with different abilities each so I guess that's what holding back that type of games

edit: on a different note, my interest in the pathfinder games skyrocketd as I found out that I can have a character with a pet I'm still not sure what I'll play once I decide to get past the char creator bossfight but I'll certainly play those games sooner rather than later now
Classes with animal companions/pet/whatever are my favourites, even in WOW I always liked hunter and warlock classes the most.

get your aluminium foil hats ready:

as we can see on the alleged leaked logo for Overdose, we can see that it is indeed a very stylish logo, but there is a central flaw that hints at something that flew right above our noses and heads, something so unbelievable that, in chess terms, it'd be the rook crushing the bishop of the rook-even-bishop pawn with the checkers mate in the Lakeside 9th Hole Gambit; yeah, THAT serious

what is this serious flaw? the not-middle text that says "HIDEO KOJIMA GAME", like so, because the logo is cut off, and doesn't reveal the rest of the subtitle except for this visible part:

there's logically something after "G A M E" because Overdose is not central compared to the subtitle, as well as the subtitle missing the classic " A Hideo Kojima Game", the A. So, if we do some quick work in photoshop, we can approximate the length of whatever the subtitle is based on the fact that it would most likely be central with the main title, and we get something like this:

yeah, we're getting THAT weird now

While back in the day there were a good amount of monster collection games (Monster Rancher and Digimon were fairly big), it's actually, a very, very hard thing to do right, even with a sizeable budget.
Mechanically, adding a hundred or more characters, all with their own types and their interactions, their various skills, abilities, uses and all? It's A LOT to balance things, and balance is already not exactly given much thought - most devs know what to do, and rarely expect players to do things the weird way.

Very easy to break everything very easily in a game like this and to make not that fun for players.
I think Monster Sanctuary falls into that issue actually, the devs originally balanced the game around their knowledge so the original "normal mode" was ballbreaking hard and expected you to use meta units and meta skills. Even with the easy mode you end up with a game frustrating in boss fights, but too easy in regular encounters.

Well there's a lot more than those I posted, Steam has its own tag for them: Creature Collector
(Though not all of them are Pokemon-likes, I also spy games from other "main" genres that seem to have a sub aspect of creature collecting.

But I do think it is hard, both from a creature design and balancing aspect. Like, they are essentially JRPGs with 100+ playable characters all of which need their own stats, skills and designs.

There's a Dangen Entertainment sale on Steam, and it seems I have several of their games on my wishlist. But I vaguely remember reading some negative stuff about this publisher. Is there a valid reason to ignore them?
Thanks for asking Geoforce
I dun support EGS cause the CEO is a mega douche . I gonna put the publisher on my steam ignore list

I gonna just cancel my Humble Choices, seem like next month will have another origin game lol

Yeah their name is clearly their whole business plan. They are blitzkrieging until they are too big to fail.
I think they've long since eclipsed 'too big to fail' in terms of IP and developers/publishers they now control. As much as I want to see said IP and devs do well (some of them anyway), I can't help but think Embracer is in major need of cash and thus we see things like this. I will gladly be wrong.

Peter Molyneux has never made a good game change my mind
Syndicate and Dungeon Keeper. Bullfrog was him at his best.

I guess this is it.
Wait... DP2 isn't on PC yet?
