That's great news!Show was good, and no EGS exclusives, win win.
We had 3rd party timed exclusives before on the windows store (the gunk recently). These games will come to Steam sooner or later, but it's damn sad that Microsoft enters this path a well.I'm sure it'll come to Steam eventually, yeah, but imho a timed exclusivity to Windows store would still be pretty bad. We need confirmation that it's coming to Steam at the same time.
apparently the guys in the tweet do have something against AI upscaling, which i dont get because it seems fucking awesome from a texturing standpointIs it? Looking at the screenshots, those upscales looks really blurry, including the character art. They won't scale well on higher resolutions.
I have nothing against AI upscaling. Some of my favourite games has AI upscaling implementation done correctly. I expected more from Atlus, since Persona is their biggest money makers.
Nice copypasta!
I still have my JP copy. I will be a millionaire soon.
Good. What we saw this year is so much better than anything these publishers have released the past few years. One of the strangest things at this year "E3" is total lack of Ubisoft, EA, partially Take2 and Square Enix news (we only got FFXVI at SoP).
I still want a lot of stuff but I'm not expecting anyone porting and localizing Twilight/Moonlight Syndrome anytime soon so as far as realistic stuff goes it's 13 Sentinels, Chaos;Head NoaH (somewhat likely), FFT, Flower Sun Rain (confirmed to happen before 2028) and Yakuza Ishin + Kenzan for me.So many long awaited games coming to PC it feels like all dreams slowly coming true. There is so little left that I really want on Steam.
Just off the top of my head.
Demon Souls
Bloodborne
DQ8
FFtactics
Bayonetta 2
Metal Gear Solid Legacy collection
If we can just get some of these over the next couple years it would be icing on the cake.
I'm with you, probably one of my dream games. It was everything I thought it would be (skyrim/fallout in Space) but even then it had extra things that I didn't expect to see.Looking at the Starfield gameplay footage again and it looks like a combination of....
Outer Worlds
Mass Effect Andromeda
No Mans Sky
Star Citizen
Fallout 4
Really is a dream game. Base building/Ship building plus lots of stuff with Factions. The skill tree stuff seems like too much tho.
1000 planets is stupid ambitious but wtvr they probably exist just for people to get 100% achievements in a game. I just hope there is no tedious fuel system in the game that locks you out of solar systems. Give me as much freedom as possible.
I'm hyped for it but performance looked rough at times. Its a good thing they delayed it so polish it up and get it right.
Nobody's doubting the capabilities of AI upscaling. The question is: if a small outfit like PH3 can make the AI-upscaled textures in a game such as Nayuta which originally is a PSP game looks good, why does Atlus --with a much more capable resources-- has such a poor showing of it?i dont get because it seems fucking awesome from a texturing standpoint
Hideo would more get Miles Teller than Tom as they acted in a movie together.Tom Cruise in Kojima game when?
Obvious thing is obvious. This is Sega we’re talking about. Atlus still has a few Atlus-isms but it’s pretty obvious that Sega is running the show.
If there’s a delay, it won’t be because Microsoft paid for exclusivity, but because Atlus prioritised development of the ports Microsoft is holding the can for.Only hope it's not a timed exclusive on W10, it would sucks to wait even more
I think so too, Atlus being Atlus till the very endIf there’s a delay, it won’t be because Microsoft paid for exclusivity, but because Atlus prioritised development of the ports Microsoft is holding the can for.
See: Yakuza 7 Xbox Series X/S “exclusivity”.
Yeah, that's been my main concern from the beginning to be honest. Microsoft doesn't usually outright pay for exclusivity anymore. But if they paid specifically for Gamepass than Atlus would certainly have to prioritize that version ( which I believe still needs to be a UWP?) and I could see them being clueless enough to go "That's the same as Steam, right?"If there’s a delay, it won’t be because Microsoft paid for exclusivity, but because Atlus prioritised development of the ports Microsoft is holding the can for.

Nintendo’s gotta pay for those ports. The real surprise here is they're porting to everything except the Switch
Atlus gonna Atlus.
Windows Store version can be Win32 as far as I know. I think they need to “wrap” the game for it, but from what I gather you can make a game for Steam then easily adapt it to Windows Store.Yeah, that's been my main concern from the beginning to be honest. Either way, good to at least get a clear confirmation it's coming at some point, even if that's not a big surprise. Also I just realized SMTV was a no show. I guess the Switch exclusivity might be a full year, then.
The original leak said Switch. Maybe Nintendo are saving their announcement for a Direct.Welp I'm going to buy Persona 5 for a fourth time to play on my Deck. I feel bad for Switch owners, but I feel like porting P5R to the Switch is probably harder than it looks and might not be worth the effort.
Is Wo Long a walking simulator?
because it nearly sounds like the German equivalent of "which way"
I--- I'll see myself out
Who cares about the opinion of the UK!Why people think Germans aren’t funny
If the Germans have always had a funny bone in them, just how did this unfortunate stereotype come about?www.bbc.com
Tune in on June 23 to watch A Plague Tale: Requiem's YouTube countdown revealing a brand new Extended Gameplay trailer as well as the game's release date.
Good. You got me. I will pay.
About that... we are talking JRPG, specifically ATLUS JRPG. I wouldn't bet much on it being Deck compatible. I really hope so, but...If I manage to pull some cash out of my ass, I should have the deck around the time persona 5 comes, that would be perfect!
Porting P5R to Switch is probably more difficult than the other platforms, but really shouldn't be prohibitive.Welp I'm going to buy Persona 5 for a fourth time to play on my Deck. Unless they put some kernel level anti-cheat in it (maybe to prevent people taking screenshots? This is Atlus) I feel like they'd have to work rather hard to make it not run on the Deck.About that... we are talking JRPG, specifically ATLUS JRPG. I wouldn't bet much on it being Deck compatible. I'm no expert and I want to believe but from the top of my headUnless they put some kernel level anti-cheat in it (maybe to prevent people taking screenshots? This is Atlus) I feel like they'd have to work rather hard to make it not run on the Deck.
Obviously they won't support stuff like dynamic cloud saves or UI scaling, but I think it's more likely to work than not.
I admit I'm ignorant on the subject of console ports, but I know there was a PS3 version of Persona 5 so I assume a Switch version of Royal is feasible. Also regarding rough Switch game performances, Shin Megami Tensei 5 ran just plain awful at points and felt like playing underwater.Porting P5R to Switch is probably more difficult than the other platforms, but really shouldn't be prohibitive.
Of course, that also depends on what you consider an acceptable port. Some of the sub-720p sub-30 FPS stuff on Switch is wild.
Valve treats those incompatible games as a problem to solve. P4G arrived as an unsupported game but, since it’s a title Steam Deck owners really wanted to play, they put the effort into fixing it and retesting the game. Considering how long it is, that can’t have been a small feat.I'm no expert and I want to believe but from the top of my head
Fully Deck compatible
Persona 4 Golden
Incompatible
Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD
Catherine Classic
Persona 4 Arena Ultimax
Persona 5 Strikers
I mean, sure, some of them can be sorta played (SMTIII), but it's a bit too many incompatible games for me to plan playing P5R on the Deck.
We need a meme with the EGS logo and the sound of crickets playing in the background
Hey, great to learn that for P5S it's just a matter of using GE !Smt 3 is the usual cutscene glitching, so that’s on proton,
P4AU has issues with cutscenes (again) but i haven’t tried myself on deck
P5s from what i can read only works with proton GE
There are incompatible games that are incompatibledue to codecs and they require proton GE instead of valve proton, so you shouldn’t take those labels at face value.
Those games require work from Valve to be labelled as playable/verified but in the meantime they are playable with proton GE, i would expect a similar situation
Biggest problem with P4G was the depedency on Windows Media Foundation (MF) (So no video playback). That was solved in a couple of weeks using ProtonGE and later regular Proton.Unless they put some kernel level anti-cheat in it (maybe to prevent people taking screenshots? This is Atlus) I feel like they'd have to work rather hard to make it not run on the Deck.

I wanna kiss you, Lashy.
