Gaben's trying hard to get me to use Steam instead of 3rd party stores...

Seriously, imagine showing this to anyone 6 or 7 years ago, they would say it's a fake, WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE! :cat-heart-blob:

Yeah, today I had to explain to people what even a Discord is, and why is it not just another text app. I even had to go through a nostalgia trip explaining TeamSpeak. Good times, reminds me of my first ever headset. Felt like a real gamer wearing that and coordinating with people that I never met realtime.

Epic could buy discord since they've been raising money for a while but it would be like flipping a coin for them, doesn't really make sense for their strategy and the info I have right now doesn't say anything about Epic.

Now Microsoft, Amazon and a certain asian company are more interested in the deal ;)

Microsoft was just more willing to respect the current structure

I'd rather it be Microsoft among those three.

How cool is that? Yesterday Steam messed up my last minute purchase just before the weeklong sale was over. I was MAD!!!!
Some hours later i found an email saying i have 72 hours to retry the purchase. I was able to buy the games at the sale price.

Battlecom. Pepperidge farm remembers. Fun times trying to play Falcon 4 in MP with that.

I find reading why TSMC and Samsung are pretty much the only foundries in the world fascinating. It hinges on a lot, but a core part is the EUV machine that literally prints the chips. I mean, look at this.

An EUV machine is made of more than 100,000 parts, costs approximately $120 million, and is shipped in 40 freight containers. There are only several dozen of them on Earth and approximately two years’ worth of back orders for more. It might seem unintuitive that the demand for a $120 million tool far outstrips supply, but only one company can make them. It’s a Dutch company called ASML, which nearly exclusively makes lithography machines for chip manufacturing. Despite this hyperspecialization, it has a market capitalization of more than $150 billion dollars—much higher than IBM’s and only slightly lower than Tesla’s.

My friend group is still using TS3. The sound quality is superb and we only pay like $22 a year for 16 slots since we buy the server from a Russian hosting. The latency is non-issue since they have EU hosting option for the same price and it's located in Kaliningrad Oblast.

Its a tough area for beginning of the game so come back to it when you are more comfortable.

Good old Teamspeak.
And even before that mIRC (for chat only, but in the early 2000's that's where most of the PC gamer clans/guilds/groups, etc hung out. Man, I wasted hours in mIRC planning raids in browsergames with buddies.)

Discord is just the natural evolution from mIRC and Teamspeak.

What I don't like about discord is the reliance of bug reporting and troubleshooting on Discord that developers use more and more.
You can't google search Discord and even if you could, most troubleshooting is done in private messages.

If Discord is the theme of the day, let me say that yeah, it's a great nostalgia trip to mIRC.
But, exactly because it's so much like it, I don't go there as often as I should. I know exactly how this will turn out if I do : negative social life.

Konami closing 16 gyms by late May.

With their recent success with Momotaro, I guess it turns out that game development may be the better business to them. :face-without-mouth:

OK I am still lost as all hell on how to increase my stats in Dark Souls.

I am going Dex Pyromancer, so I should focus on VIT+END+DEX for health, stamina, not suffering from weight limitations and the offensive benefits of DEX stat.

I understnad that I should at least get them to a certain level (40) as going beyond that doesn't give much beneficial boosts.

Chatting elsewhere, I am instead advised to put points where I need them, but that just confused me more :S

EDIT: Also, I rid this fellow from this mortal coil

It was for their own good, and I want them to know that I'll put that Uchigatana to good use :wd_salute:

For a casual playthrough the stat distribution really doesn't matter that much. You have the idea of a build. Just generally head in that direction as you go. Pryomancy doesn't really scale with any stats (it's complicated) so upgrade your pyro glove when you can and that's about all for those spells. Otherwise do what seems good and works towards your build. You can always farm more souls if you need an extra point or two down the line.

Wondering if they will release their games on Steam and their own launcher thing since New World is going to Steam.

I don't like acquisitions/consolidation in general, but among those options from my perspective it would be somewhat interesting if Amazon bought them to see whether they would include Nitro with Prime (which I already have for other reasons).

With Microsoft, I'd hope it would be a gaming thing management wise and have nothing at all to do with the absolute clusterfuck that is Skype/Teams. Please.

Anyway, in my group of friends we still use Mumble for voice chat :P

I'm starting Kerbal Space Program following the tutorials. My question is: do the tutorials cover all the basics? I see people talking about calculations and stuff but for now nothing of that has come up

Is it worth swapping to Mumble for Voice? Discord absolutely hogs my resources when im in a voice call, So ive been considering swapping while still using discord for text chat. But wasnt sure how much of a step up TS or Mumble would be.

I havent used TeamSpeak in like 8 years oof

Glowing reviews for Rise. Got a Switch, but will wait for PC version for 60 fps.
Lol, I'm so sheepish it's sad ! Didn't play Iceborn because of burnout, not interested that much in Rise, and there is the PC port on the horizon.

'Glowing reviews for Rise.'
...
I want that !

Mumble is extremely efficient, has very low latency and high quality. The drawback is that it's really focused on just voice, and not as user friendly. But purely for voice communication, and if you have a set of people who have no issues using it, it's the best there is, IMHO.

I'm pretty much looking at it solely as a voice platform so ill definitely give it a go. Thanks!
