Play one for 10 minutes and you've played them all basically. And they look the same on ps2 and ps4 (this is a 5% exaggeration)Somehow, I've never played a musou game. Shocking really.

Thanks for the explanation! They are, but not all cRPGs adopt RtwP combat (most others are usually turn-based). RtwP is only the combat system, not a genre name.
No lies detected.Play one for 10 minutes and you've played them all basically. And they look the same on ps2 and ps4 (this is a 5% exaggeration)
I usually use both approach. AI scripting is useful for easier encounters, but sometimes things don't go exactly as planned and I wouldn't mind micro-managing my whole party. Also, people often regard FFXII gambit system as the best rtwp, but I think it's mostly due to the simplistic nature of the encounter design of that game. You very rarely encounter a group of more than 3-4 enemies in FFXII, so it's always easier to get control of the combat there. Everyone will stay where they are and you only need to pay attention to your health and buffs/debuffs in combat. In cRPGs, there are often encounters with 6 or even more enemies charging at you. To make things worse, a lot of them have teleportation skill and will gladly ambush your mage/ranged units in the back. AI scripting wouldn't be enough to handle such situations.I know AI scripting in RTwP RPGs is a feature some find really useful, but I'm not really interested in my party members playing themselves. I do find pause conditionals useful, but not absolutely necessary.
In addition to what you said, FFXII battles just generally aren't as positional as most CRPGs with RTwP systems. Those usually have things like powerful AoE spells with friendly fire, and engagement mechanics.I usually use both approach. WALL OF TRUTH
YES!Not bad sir, not bad at all.
... now if only I could play these on PC!
It really is absolutely amazing! One of the very best JRPGs I've ever played. Did you finish the post game stuff as well?Anyway. Finished Dragon Quest XI probably one of the best JRPGs of all time. Now to decide what to play before Kiwami releases. Thought about Odallus or Aggelos or something other that is short and could make me try out my M30
Most RTwP lack a good gambit system, therefor they are trash as the opinion that RTwP is good. qed
I think the only games I refunded were Arkham Knight and No Man's Sky.I’m still a refund virgin on Steam.
Yes! Postgame side stuff is pretty much take it or leave it but the main path of the post game is pretty great. So much that I would say they should've put that in the main game.It really is absolutely amazing! One of the very best JRPGs I've ever played. Did you finish the post game stuff as well?
What about the post game soured you?Honestly the music alone prevents me from ever seriously recommending DQ XI.
I really enjoyed the story and characters, except a certain thing in post-game, that ruined most of it for me.
It is really pretty and the animations and monsters are a joy to watch. Emphasis of "watch" here, because I didn't like the battle system much. I enjoyed it the most when I had everyone on auto and didn't have to bother engaging with it.
Overall it fluctuates in this weird space where I really liked certain parts of it, really disliked other parts, don't outright love it, but wouldn't call it mediocre either and I dunno.
But it's certainly nowhere near my personal favorites, so I guess that's that.
And god damn it cannot be emphasised enough how bad the soundtrack is and is used.
none of us doI've never refunded anything either, but that's mostly because I don't actually play what I buy
I have a confession. I have refunded two or three times (four times according to my mail archive).
whoa, you're back! you barely post in here any more ... i miss youI have received a refund 18 times.
This unsettled me.I have received a refund 18 times. The latest refunded game was Into the Breach, so that I could purchase it for cheaper on the Humble store on day 1.
For some reason, games are often available on Steam first, and then a few hours or days later on the Humble store. This unsettled me.
No yeah I mean, refunding Into the Breach, even for a proper reason, unsettles me.For some reason, games are often available on Steam first, and then a few hours or days later on the Humble store.
So it is easy to miss the 10% loyalty discount which comes with a Humble Monthly subscription.

The music is not the best, I give that. Used the Orchestra Mod and tuned down the music which is too high a volume on default. Overworld music got better in postgame, too. VA performance were fantastic, too. Added so much.
What didn't you like about the battle system? I thought was pretty well done with its empasize on buffs/debuffs like past DQs additional with various enemy types. Classic camera made it pretty snappy. Also I had the opposite effect on my. Started with everyone on auto but then switched to manual because the AI would prolong fights by attacking the wrong enemies, doing the wrong action, using the wrong ability, etc.
we still you!I am still there in the shadows. It is just that I lurk more.
are they even still working on that thing? they only showed that CGI-nothing when they announced it ... and absolutely nothing since then, and it's been like ... what ... 3 years?I bet Square Enix are kicking themselves for not getting their Avengers game out in time for Endgame.
Yeah, not even a peep about it since the announcement. They were going to do 3 Marvel games, right?I bet Square Enix are kicking themselves for not getting their Avengers game out in time for Endgame.
Ouch. Talk about missing a launch window.I bet Square Enix are kicking themselves for not getting their Avengers game out in time for Endgame.
I keep forgetting about VNs. Earlier this year you recommended me half a million games, and I added them all to my wishlist and downloaded the free ones. I also bought (or already owned) several others, like Danganronpa 1, the Fata Morgana prequel, The Silver Case plus its sequel, and the first Higurashi, none of which I started yet.Steins;Gate, 428, Umineko, Fata Morgana or Muv-Luv as all great.
If you're talking about A Requiem for Innocence, be aware that it should absolute not be played before the regular game. (And it's not really a prequel).the Fata Morgana prequel
Showing animation improvements while using a greatsword, a weapon that is particularly difficult for characters to control smoothly due to its combination of size, mass, speed and grip. In previous versions, the sword and entire character would wobble very noticeably.
I have all of these on my SNES Classic (please don't ask how they got there ), but the thought of embarking on a 300+ hours RPG binge scares me to death. Even though I'm not a fan of the genre I want to play these titles, but the tim3 commitment they require turns me off.Crazy, because so many of my all-time best are on the SNES. For best SNES JRPG I got:
1. Chrono Trigger
2. Terranigma
3. Lufia 2
4. FFVI
5. Earthbound
That's leaving out games like SoM3, Illusion of Gaia, SMRPG, Tales of Phantasia, BoF2.
And I've been missing out on the best of them all, apparently?
I already finished the original game once, and loved it so much I immediately started it again. That second playthrough is the one I haven't finished yet, haha.If you're talking about A Requiem for Innocence, be aware that it should absolute not be played before the regular game. (And it's not really a prequel).
Well you dont have to wait that long for it to come out.........I bet Square Enix are kicking themselves for not getting their Avengers game out in time for Endgame.
Another my recent example - AssCreed Syndicate do not work properly with DS4V2 (no vibration, messed up button mappings), fixed with new DS4Windows!Welp time to update DS4Windows.
There's nothing wrong with refunding, it's there to be used.I just checked and I received a refund exactly 36 times...
pls no ban
We will if Epic has anything to say about it.Well you dont have to wait that long for it to come out.........

Although I feel like changing Hektor 's mind in particular would be as easy as posting some cosplay of certain female Digimon.
