finished episodes 2 and 3 of LiS2 yesterday ...

can't stop thinking about that game

fuck, is that game GOOD!!!

might end up being my GOTY (not even joking)
I keep forgetting about them. The huge wait after ep 1 totally destroyed my momentum.

yeah, i know ... but they're still worth playing though ... especially since each episode is like 4-6h long ... so it's not like you'd be able to play through all 5 in one sitting :p

I love it too. The huge wait between episodes is a bit disappointing, but they are longer than LiS episodes, and just better overall, IMO. I loved Episode 3, and will replay it as we get closer to 4.
I need to do the Finn-mance, even if it forces me to be a bit of a dick. Daniel's been a little shit lately anyway.

yeah ... August and December ... gonna be a loooooong wait

oh, absolutely ... i'm liking it MUCH more than the first game ... and that's saying something because the first game is REALLY fucking good ... but this one is just SO MUCH better

I loved Episode 3, and will replay it as we get closer to 4.
yeah, i suppose i could replay it ... get all the shit i missed (drawings and collectables, that is)

Fell Seal is beaten, what a great journey.

My review:
Fell Seal is exactly what I always wanted from this genre.

The game has everything what made FF Tactics and Tactics Ogre great, from the robust class system, map design with elevation and such, combat mechanics and elements, exploration and team building, to story pieces in-between missions. No gimmicks and no cards mechanic, it's truly inspired by FF Tactics at its very core.

That said, Fell Seal is not exactly a copy, as they also added some (optional) mechanics, including the injury system. If a character falls in a battle, they will be injured and get gimped stats if you choose to deploy them in the next battle. It's there to encourage having a substitute character ready just in case. It also encourages you to try different kind of characters and classes. Consumables also work differently here, as they replenish after each combat so you can freely use them to as you see fit. Instead of obtaining stronger consumables, you can upgrade them in the crafting menu.Speaking of crafting, there are lots of stuff to craft too, from consumables to gears and accessories.

The game gets harder the further you progress, especially since the enemies are more varied and consisted of more endgame jobs combination. The AI is also pretty smart and will fully utilize their tools and the map conditions. However, it doesn't stop you from breaking the game with OP jobs combination too. If you like managing your party, you'll spend a lot of time tinkering in the party menu. Each job is unique and there are lots of job synergies that you can try. It's the highlight of the game for me.

Sadly, the story is not that great. It's serviceable at best. I like the characters, but they didn't really develop throughout the game. If they can hire better writers and get bigger budget (for VA, for example), their next game could become a masterpiece in the genre.

I'm having a really hard time trying to get through Anima Nameless Chronicles. This is like a glorified DLC, I know the original game had a tight budget but this is getting to "reskin with slightly better combat and a couple new bosses" levels. Really frustrating considering how much I liked the first one.

Having the true ending be locked behind a extremely long and frustrating secret boss (that is also recycled from the first game) is also really dampening my will to keep playing.
Oh shit I wanted to grab this on the Switch but kinda forgot it existed. It's like 2 dollars right?

Haha yeah. One of these days I should play it. And Finding Paradise. And the Deus Ex sequels (and replay DE1). And Hitman 2016 (and buy 7 when it's cheap). And every Ys game after 3. And the other Falcom games. And the 3DS Paper Mario. And Ghost Trick. And Ace Attorney 6. And Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker and 5, And GTA 5. And many more I don't wanna think about because I'm already stressed as fuck from thinking of all these games I'll never play :'(

Is this adapted from the Switch version, which was a mobile port? Or is it a whole new thing?

Edit: oh, it's the "fourth installment." Wow, that's confusing as heck (for people like myself who don't read)

Ohhhh I'm always up for another GRID.

First reviews of American Fugitive are very average but many of the issues like too aggressive police and a general unpolished-ness could be patched. Guess I'll wait.
