Combat is where Tunic lacks. I think there are accessibility options that make it much easier. Don't feel bad about enabling those. The game is more about exploration and figuring out the secrets, anyway.
I did not know that! Will check it out because I very much want it easier, I'm too old to play games on anything other than easy haha

some of you have now read my smt sjr praise of the final boss

here's something completely otherwise: the people who designed the soul hackers 2 DLC deserves to be put on death row

here's a DLC fucker you need to progress in the DLC; his recommended level is 61, meaning that to defeat him, you'd ideally be around level 61, but I am on level 66

as you can see, this snake fuck heals for 600 every turn, but he gets two turns in one, meaning he heals 1200 hp for every turn he does; the amount of HP loss you see in this picture is the result of two turns where I was completely buffed, he was bebuffed, and also I had a party filled with electrical oriented demons, his weakness

there is no clever strategy behind this; you can't put an ailment on him because he's resistant, and you can't use concentrate as he'd heal for all of the HP you caused over the turn you use concentrate, and he will also buff himself with stronger defence meaning you'll have to debuff him, wasting one turn which in turn makes you deal less damage to him, and therefore, he heals even more

atlus really made an unfair dlc that sucks huh, but what can be expected of the same people who made some demons into DLC? the A in atlus stands for ascend; there is none, only a steady decline into persona 5 pachislots and games that feel unfinished

I might grab this Choice for Descenders alone. It's a pretty fun game. Forgive Me Father looks good. Humble gave me $4 for skipping, so I might do it.

I guess Choice really has turned into the Game Pass Humble bundle.

Holy fuck, the netcode in JoJo is bad. When I finally get a match that runs normally, it feels like the game is running in fast-forward because I get so used to various degrees of slowdown lol. Don't think I'll touch the online at all once I get all the related achievements.

HEY EVERYONE!!!

We've got some more Fuga on the way! The more we play of this the more I suspect it'll make me cry at some point. It's so adorable but it's still a game that's basically about child soldiers fighting in WW2 and we've already had one slightly heartbreaking moment.

But we're going to do our best to help these kids save their families! :blobcheer:

Should be starting in the usual 10 minutes!

I’m liking this month’s offerings. Been interested in Industria. Forgive Me Father, and Descenders. Just Cause 4 I got for free from Epic, but I welcome a Complete Steam copy.

The other games aren’t genres I play, but I’m still a bit curious.

My general rule with Humble Monthly is to at least be interested in three games, so I’m good this month.

Played through the main campaign of Avengers, and it's pretty good when it actually remembers to be a proper single-player game, as opposed to a glorified tutorial for the multiplayer GaaS side of things... which is maybe a bit more than half the time? There's some strong writing and performances (the Kamala/Bruce relationship in particular), and some fun set pieces, and I truly think it could have been at least as good as GotG if Square Enix had just let Crystal Dynamics make a game that actually played to their strengths. But nope, they had to chase that live service money, sigh.

also, how do you make an AAA Avengers game and only manage to include three supervillains in the entire campaign, two of whom only appear in the first few hours? Guess they had to spend that money designing more generic AIM robot enemies instead

finished soul hackers 2, but now i'm feeling empty like always when you finish something big

gonna replay it, but this time, no shortcuts
very hard difficulty, no grimoires to speed me through grinding, no dlc to give me extra cash and shit, no new game +

gonna start tomorrow though, tonight's all dedicated to some quick schoolwork

JC4 is so bad. It has to be one of the worst reviewed games they've had in the bundle right? Honestly I want to not get it just so I don't have to give that away or try and offload it, unless their "reloaded" really improved it (which it doesn't sound like it did).

Industria I liked the premise of but the demo felt really unfun - the enemies were bullet sponges. and the combat felt bad even besides that. And the latest patch shows they nerfed bullet capacity and SMG damage so unless they overtuned it after the demo that sounds miserable

Crown Trick is a maybe, hadn't seen it, but it also sounds mediocre.

CK3 is CK3, I have played a little of 2 but I guess it might be a chance to get into a version less overwhelmed with DLC.

Forgive Me Father seems like an OK boomer shooter that maybe misses the mark in a few places, but also looks short so that might be fine

Shapez looks fun

Descenders is not my thing. Not interested in bike racing and from the reviews there is some randomly punishing aspects to it to boot.

Dungeon is the only one actually on my wishlist I think. I'm not sure if all the "maybes" here override the "definitely nots" but probably.

Oh, I actually am looking forward to Moonscar which they will add to the Humble Games thing on the 27th, but it's another f'ing launcher

joined the snitch discord today, got banned today
very unfortunate, but what can you do with powertripping mods, i see them more as a motivator than a nuisance

whenever i think i'm truly pathethic, a real sack of crap, i just look at them

they're actual people who moderate a small discord server, release their pent up aggression onto random users, thinking they're hot shit because they're moderators for an insider

the reason for my ban?
looking at an obviously fake image of a kojima "Internal presentation about upcoming projects" from 4chan, and saying "i could totally make that lol"

The more I play Monster Hunter the more I wonder why other MMO / GAAS / whatever-you-wanna-call-them devs don't try to copy this kind of group content format and try to move away from traditional X number of players requirement with the necessity of tank + healer.
Like Monster Hunter is the most perfect game ever for me, I can engage with the multiplayer aspect of it or totally ignore it and I don't feel like I'm really missing out on anything.

edit: on top of it from what I see a lot of people play it multiplayer so the option to play everything solo doesn't hamper the MP experience and the opposite is also true.

How can you live on this???

The last Total Warhammer Update alone is 80GB's, the game itself 120GB.
The first two episodes of LOTR are already 12GB.

when and where
I suspect the US. I can't imagine using the internet like this, because sometimes my internet usage spikes to about 2 TB per month. Imagine not being able to update a game. That's atrocious and monthly data caps should be long dead.

This isn't really suprising since NISA wasn't going to fund an entirely new PS4 port. It's pretty clear they are keen on not spending too much on Zero and Azure. That's a smart choice too, I doubt these games will see the same sales as the much flashier looking Cold Steel 3 and 4.
Of course it does suck for PS4 players, but on the other hand, I don't think for a series like Trails it's really all that important. It lives from its writing for the most part.

Speaking of Cold Steel 3, it's pretty amazing what Falcom was able to produce once they weren't held back by the ancient Vita or PS3. This games looks crazy good on my Steam Deck, in many ways the 3D models match almost exactly the corresponding 2D artwork in the menus. The 3D models in the message boxes also look about as good as they used to in the Crossbell and Sky games, really detailed and with a good number of expressions.

I always wonder if it is worth starting the trails games, I even own all of them on steam. It's just that I hear how long each one is and then how many of them there are, intimidates me into moving onto another game.
