FinalFlame over on ResetEra is a former Valve employee and says Tyler is usually pretty accurate/knows what he's talking about. for example in this post FinalFlame says Tyler is pretty credible. I've seen other similar posts from FinalFlame as well about Tyler.

Tyler is very young and can get over excited about things. He's also probably fed tons of fake things which is likely very annoying to him and makes his job harder. He still can certainly make mistakes (he had a recent TF2 video about cheaters that had a pretty big mistake, which he admitted to, pulled and later remade) but you're just being silly if you're saying as he's as reliable a source as 4chan.
The problem with him is yeah, sometimes he has some data or rumor and treats it as a fact or worse, starts speculating without being clear about it, leading to people believe that it's indeed a fact (i know he started to say when is he speculating but that is a very recent thing)

His credibility has been shaky and it didn't help that for someone that is such a fan of Valve he didn't notice that him showing internal stuff or discussions made more pressure towards Valve and that made Valve just more likely to just shove under the rug whatever project they had because the pressure was too real.

I'm glad he was right lately and I watch his videos but I always take what he says with a grain of salt.

how has borderlands 3 been? is it still pretty soloable? gmg has the super deluxe for $45 that is getting my attention
I just finished a play through of the deluxe version at 70hrs of which maybe a few hours idling in menus but not too much. Did a lot of the content including the DLC (which was massive) but there's still a lot of stuff to get up to without starting TVHM. Plenty of value in this game for sure and I mostly enjoyed everything except the characters who are dogshit awful.

Is it true that the gunplay is better in Borderlands 3? In the first one I don't remember, but I hated the "floaty" feeling of the guns, like no impact at all and super slow bullets

Just funny how were I live (Wien, Favoriten) it's still hard to actually find toilet paper, and that's after the first big wave. The psychology thing was also my first explanation, that everyone just wants to make themselves feel better by making sure they have enough of this "rare" resource.
that is odd! I was at my local shop (Billa) yesterday to buy food & supplies for the week and they had a whole mountain of toilet paper there. But then again, Favoriten is bigger than my city (Klagenfurt), so more people = more toilet paper hoarders, I guess

Anyone knows what kind of code is there inside the retail copy of Doom Eternal? Steam or Beth Launcher?

And FinalFlame hasn't been following his nonsense for as long or as closely as me and a good handful of others. He really isn't reliable. FF was likely referring to the specific case, tbqh.

Or maybe you're FF's Metacouncil alt?! Who knows!

But yeah, he's credible except when he isn't which is also surprisingly often despite the lack of "speculation" tagging

It's also really important to note that FF hasn't been at Valve for a long time & Tylers rarely credible outside of things set in past tense, quite often very long time ago-tense.

At least in my experience & with the stuff I've managed to suss out & be privvy to. :)

Though "shitnugget" probably didn't come off as a funny remark despite it sounding like one in my head, so I apologise for Tyler on that one. :drinking-blob:

I digress, unless something is datamined or directly quoted, it's basically flinging spaghetti at the wall, seeing what sticks.

I mean as recently as a few months ago he made a plethora of laughable claims about Boneworks & about the reason for Alyx being a no-show at TGAs, both of which are... Well, if you've not been following either game it might not be evident, but again, laughable.

("Boneworks is a secret HL game" U wot m8 even Brandon, the creator, didn't get the insanity of the theory :grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes:)

I've tried that online mode in DOOM Eternal and yeah, I'm not sure why they bothered with it at all, it's too chaotic and not fun. If they needed some sort of multiplayer, why they just didn't add a good old Deathmatch? What's the point in overcomplecating things? I guess I'll keep playing Quake Champions for my arena FPS fix. The campaign is cool so far, though it feels like they've missed the intro part because so far I have no idea what's going on and who are those Hell Priests and hologramic ghosts that Doomguy kneeling.

What about the multiplayer? Well, in case you were wondering, there is no regular Deathmatch mode in DOOM Eternal and Bethesda's Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communication Pete Hines explained exactly why in an interview with Shacknews.

No. That mode is eons old. We don't want to do something just for the sake of doing it, or because something has always been a certain way.
The biggest problem we thought we had with Doom 2016 was that [multiplayer] wasn't done at id, and felt really disconnected from the base game that everybody loved. Whether you're playing by yourself or with others, we want it to feel like you're all playing the same game. That's as opposed to, ‘I'm a badass demon slayer in single-player, but when I go over to multiplayer, there are no demons, and it's just Deathmatch.’ I don't know what that has to do with [Doom] other than that, well, a couple of decades ago we had that, so we should just have that again.

I just tried the Resident Evil 3 demo, and I experienced constant stutters.
I dropped most of the graphical settings, I'm using half of my graphics card memory, but the stutters continue.

I searched around, and it seems this is something people experienced with the Resident Evil 2 Remake as well.
Did anyone have this problem, and managed to fix it?

The demo looks good, appears to be fun, but these stutters are really annoying. :(

Actually I have been getting this inexplicable intermittent stuttering as well, which is odd cos RE2 ran beautifully for me.

For the most part it's fine but every so often yeah weird stutters that can last many seconds. Little concerning.

I bought AC Odyssey more than a year ago and tried to play it like four times only to drop it a couple of hours in because I really wasn't feeling it.

I've tried again this week and I've played for 20 hours during the weekend alone and I'm having a pretty enjoyable time with it. Sometimes you just need to be in the right mood to enjoy a game.

Oh well, I played the demo because there's an "event" going on at ResidentEvil.net, so that was a good excuse, but I'm yet to play the RE2 remake. :giggle:
I guess I'll play that first. ;)

Gonna take a long ass break from KH Collection until Im motivated or the collection releases on PC due to my PS4 wiping my KH1 save file. Still, with the exception of Crash Racing and Dreams, waiting on PC version for those, KH Collection is the last owned PS4 game in my backlog, as in, I still have some PS4 games on my wanna-buy-but-i-still-hope-for-a-pc-version wishlist (like TLOU2, Ghosts, Yakuza and Concrete Genie), but KH Collection is the last owned game in my PS4 backlog.

Xbox X is also pretty much only used for game pass (until it lapses in 2021, won't renew as I will buy the games on Steam), as in using it to see if I wanna get the games on Steam or not and games that are not available on PC.

So these days it's really just PC and Switch for me. The PS4 is only for exclusives and console-only games and Xbox X is only for game pass to see if I wanna get it on Steam and console-only games.

I could watch a playthrough out of curiosity (and I would skip through the shootings like video #3), but I do not care about actually playing the game myself.
I have watched yesterday's videos at normal speed and at twice the speed (to check whether there were some compelling elements for me, besides opening the doors in various ways), and it is not an issue.
Gabe listened to me. :cpc_kappa:

Full in-camera smoothing is a combination of effects applied to all three axes of camera rotation, to create a very cinematic look for your VR camera. This tool is perfect for capturing small moments that you want to look just right—but because it lags the game camera inside your headset, it can be disorienting and is not meant to be used while playing normally. This is the tool we used to capture most of the Half-Life: Alyx gameplay videos we released.

I don't trust Playtracker being accurate of Doom Eternal having 200k owners on Steam.

The peak was a little above 100k and Ive heard on Twitter you can muliply a Steam peak by 20x or something, but that also sounds perhaps too much, but overall, 200k owners on Steam cannot be accurater with a 100k peak ccu.

They should implement the mode so people who want to play it can play it.

Pretty sure they said it takes 3-5 days to fully update numbers after launch

I miss when Steam used to show you your download progress in the taskbar. Unless I messed something up and it's still there...

I think that's a Windows 7 feature, which is no longer supported by Win 10.
EDIT:
Hmm, no turns out Windows Explorer sill supports it. Then it must be a Steam thing

That was pretty broken, half the time it got stuck even after the download had finished and didn´t go awey til you restarted steam.
