Have you tried in some way to ad money your Steam wallet and see if you can buy via your wallet? Or tired another cc if you have one?

I had the same problem a few years ago and either I waited it out or I wrote some info wrong.
Yup I tried everything, I tried to add funds "declined by my bank", tried to use virtual cc "declined by my bank" even I can't add any cc info, the last message from Steam support was that the restriccions and declines comes from my bank, also the support rep told me that they can't change any cc info, this guy told me that the CVV that I was entering was incorrect.

I occasionally experienced similar problems with Steam. I could buy with a certain credit card on Steam if I used Paypal, but not by paying directly.
In all occasions, after a few days without making further attempts, the issue would solve itself.

I believe each time you get a declined message, after a while their system "blocks" you for some time, and if you keep trying that blocking period continues to increase.

If you already checked all your info (including address, phone number, postal code, ...), and everything is exactly like your bank statement, try waiting 3/5/7 days without attempting to make a purchase, and see if things start working again.
Thank you both, I will wait, in the meantime I will use PayPal and after some time will try my cc directly.

Tumbleweed crossing the streets on EGS

EGS PR: or exclusive dev before Steam release Guys! Game XYZ is a massive hit!"
Most of the community: Yeah, sure, Epic.

EVEN IF there is a massive Hit, nobody will believe it, because there is no statistic to look at, no metrics. Especially Multiplayer games need people believing in your product, believing that the game has a healthy community. Twitch can only tell you so much and is inflated in the first days to two weeks.
By the way for the Bug Snax game do you think it will be another Goose Game? By which it gets promoted by streamers and all that but in the end it does sell a lot but it doesn't pull the numbers that some of these other Indies are doing? Because that seems to be the next big (marketing stuff) game that EGS store has.

Bugsnax will be the next Knack. The game will be the meme and not the content.
It is the Sony quota for cutesy Indie game to pretend they care about Indies.

Even if it takes off (and that is a big if, because we know next to nothing about the gameplay) it will be attributed to Playstation, EGS will be left in the dust, discussion-wise, any claim that it is (also) a big hit on EGS will be shouted down by the console warriors.

And that's the thing with available player-numbers. You can't back up your claim, any bragging will be seen as PR fluff that people will ignore. There won't be any big news stories from gaming sites that can back up their claim of the next big thing on EGS, because they don't have a transparent statistic to look at, and any news about the alleged new big hit would mean either getting the numbers from Epic or just their word. Both of which would also be ignored by the consumers as PR fluff.

Slowly getting there.

Damn nice job!

I have only in recent days gotten to and beaten Olmec in Spelunky 2. Getting to ice caves is fucking awesome.

I've picked up the Ankh and done the tutorial speedrun though which are rarer somehow. Maybe I just suck at tide pool and temple lol.

Guys, I really can't believe it. Apparently, my girlfriend has taken up with a colony of amazonian lizard women. I have decided that enough is enough. Unfortunately, it didn't go over so well when I tried to break it off, so I was forced to hit her in the face a bag of sand and make my immediate escape. Call me callous, but I can't envision spending the rest of my life with a woman who eats bugs for lunch.

Well, my initial impressions of Chronicon were quite positive, it seemed true to its' word of respecting your time, and being quite open to building your own way. Unfortunately, the endgame (i.e. where all ARPGs live) stripped that all away bit by bit. The cost to experiment with builds in gear is insane. I spent 30 hours grinding for 1 or 2 true legendaries and never saw either, and so I just don't even get to TRY those builds. If they had been bad, I'd need to get MORE copies of those true legendaries (that I didn't see for 30 hours) to try them in another way.

If it's literally the only game you'll ever play for months and months, it'd be a solid ARPG. But respectful of your time it is not, and I feel like so many of the positive reviews are from people that just played through the campaign and tucked it away for a while. Because the campaign is so easy you can do literally anything with your gear and skill points and beat it on the hardest setting.

So far the community has been pretty hostile towards me asking for a way to actually target specific true legendaries or make TLs more available too, which is always a bad sign. Hostile community almost always means hardcore game which almost always means "it's bad for most people".

Edit: For reference, I can go through the entire season journey in Diablo 3 (starting from level 1 from scratch, up to and including the "challenge" steps of the journey) in less than 30 hours. You can also experiment with basically any build you want in less than an hour once you are able to farm at all. And I wouldn't even call Diablo 3 generous with my time, they've just added so many systems over the years for helping cut down the RNG reliance, with good cause. It's crazy to see Chronicon throw pure mythic RNG at you at the end game and call that respectful.

TF2 has now been out for 13 years!!!!
I actually first played TF2 back in December of 2007 at a LAN party (and I didn't really like it all that much that first day) and its since became my favorite and most played game of all time that I still typically play with some of my friends from the old Neogaf TF2 server several times a month.
It's been crazy to see how the game as changed and evolved over the years, and how the game industry copied a lot of what Valve pioneered in regards to GaaS with TF2.

Ita so sad Valve doesn't really update it much anymore. The TF2 community is still very passionate about the game so I'm hoping the success of The Last Stand update for L4D2 gets Valve to revisit the idea of community created content updates again for TF2.

I train on the later levels with the shortcuts. I have unlocked the first two, and have only started talking to the shortcut-digging lady for the third one. I have trained a lot on lava world and quite a bit on tide pool.

I have yet to pick up the Ankh.I avoid spoilers/wikis, but I think that is because I always go for lava world instead of the jungle (when I start a run from scratch). I have fully explored lava world and I am confident that the secret areas there do not have an Ankh. I guess it is for consistency with Spelunky 1.

Also, jungle is scary.

There is likely to be more also did you know that in average it would seem that Steam now has something of 20 million concurrent players. More or less that's where the numbers have sort of settled at after the whole stay at [UWSL]home thing. [/UWSL]
The average number of players grew during the lock-downs exponentially until it reached that new milestone, however once those lock-dows started to being lifted the peaks started to disappear but the growing number trend kept going.

It will be really interesting to see the Steam situation at the end of the year, by that moment I have some reports in mind :blobeyes::blobeyes:

As others wrote
They looked at the character creation data collected from players overall and found that the majority of options chosen resulted in creating generic white guy #1,597,754,089
Call me old-fashioned, but there's something inherently yucky about tracking that data in first place.

Particularly if the developer/publisher happens to be a company like Larian rather than BioWare/EA. What do they want it for? Streamlining the character editor in the next game to save development resources ("Analytics learning #4711: Less demon eyes and tails, more tattoos that look good on white vault dwellers")? That's what EA would do. I don't think they would.

I'm guessing this really is just devs having fun (or if you wanted to be snarky: wasting time) with gratuitous data they are now sitting on because apparently it's just the new normal now to have your early access / open beta game track and phone home every damn input event like a porn site would.

I'm the same way. It's not that much of a big deal so I didn't say anything but the growth of telemetry and this sort of thing didn't sit well with me to begin with. But then using it to just make jokes and judging your players for who they like to play in an RPG designed to be just that? Shaming, even in a tongue-in-cheek manner?

I don't much care for it. Again, it's not a big deal, but it doesn't exactly reinforce my confidence in what Larian has become.

Lets take a look at some RPGs time in "Discoveries in Discovery Queue"!

Mesmer

You play as a revolutionary leader that needs to encourage the citizens to raise up and change the country while avoiding the secret police. It has a demo right now too!

Mesmer. The pearl of the old world. At least it used to be... But the King has failed his people. He’s turned his nation into a police state, his citizens struggling under rationing and curfews. The farmable land surrounding the capital is no longer used to grow food, but fields of Paciflowers, a plant with powerful mindbending capabilities. Those who dissent are forced into subservience through a mind control method known as “Horsing”- covering their heads with spite masks filled with Paciflowers and stripping them of all individuality to serve as a grim example to others.
No one lives in heaven

Set in a world after the hero saves the world, experience how the post-save the world is. Tons of sidequests with different results that allow you to see what has happened after the world has been left alone. It also has a demo right now!

What happens to the inhabitants of a game world after you have finished it?
In No one lives in heaven the NPCs have been left alone for years and you are the first person to meet them again. All your decisions have consequences and influence the course of history. Will you manage to change the fate of the NPCs for the better or will you become a prisoner of the game yourself? Is your humanity strong enough to stand your ground?
No one lives in heaven does not give you a role to play. You are not a chosen hero, who defeats an evil force with the help of his grinded abilities. The role you play is you, and the fate you decide upon is your own.

9th Dawn III

Explore a huge 2D world with tons of enemies in this action RPG. You can build up your character and class as you go and "capture" enemy monsters to support you.

9th Dawn III: Shadow of Erthil is a huge 2D open world RPG and collectathon dungeon crawler packed full of adventure! When asked to investigate mysterious, ghostly sightings around the lake of Elmson, you trek through the lands of Cedaltia to uncover the truth. Upon arrival, you catch rumors of an untrustworthy king and become the chosen one to journey to Lorwyck Castle and confront him – a journey that will guide you through ancient fortresses, dark dungeons, perilous swamps, and moe!
Soon, you find yourself at the heart of a foreboding prophecy. Equip your best gear and experience a journey across the fields of Ashwick, the snowy regions of Halstom, dense forests of Vlak, the sprawling depths of huge dungeons, and the perilous Hollow Mountains of Scorn on an epic quest to uncover the secrets of a mysterious evil force that threatens the lands.
Dust to the End

Early access game in a postapocalytic world were you need to survive doing whatever it takes. Spotty english translation.

Nuclear wars ended human civilization, the survivors hid in the underground shelter through a stagnant but safe century. When the radiation from the ground gradually dissipates, the survivors returned to the surface and began the reconstruction of civilization.Sadly, mankinds failed to learn from the tragic ending of the last civilization, intrigue and deceit, blood and blood are repeated in this wasteland world. In order to compete for land and resources, emerging forces began to fight against each other, chaos in everywhere. Not long ago, a human trafficking organization called the "Black Death" ransacked an shelter called "507". After looting, a large number of residents became slaves. As the lucky one of 507, you escaped a catastrophe, but survival is never easy. When you walk out of the ruins of 507 and come to this wasteland world, these choices are already in front of you.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What tools are they using? Which HMD and that stuff?

Technically the number has continuously risen since then and (more surprisingly of all) have lost the weekend change population:

I would also say there is maybe an inflection point of growth since lockdown that accelerated the increase of concurrent players (if we remove the clear outliers created by the initial lockdown)

Thought I would give Pathfinder a go but all the portraits for your character were pretty bad so lost all interest haha, I think I'm starting to become way too picky.
That may be the case, but I can certainly relate too. If character portraits don't work for me, then I tend to loose interest.

Cough Tides of Numenera, looking at you. Though that was far from that game's main problem.

What about this?
Yeah I looked into it but seemed like too many steps to do when I already had started to loose interest. I'm trying out games and not really feeling for anything, so my interest was fragile already.

It was the combat in that game for me that made me just nope out of it.XD

I've started a game called...

Escape from Bug Island

It is the greatest thing I have ever seen.
Interesting tidbit on Escape From Bug Island, the developers of Bugsnax have said it's the primary influence on the creation of their game.

The harem ending in this game really is the weirdest.

I feel Im so unfocused when playing a game on console. It's like 20 min of gaming and then doing something else for 3-4 hours, then 20 min of gaming and then something else for 3-4 hours, repeat.

Well, I was like that a bit also some years ago when I mainly played on console, but now it's worse.

Im doing Tsushima right now, one of the last PS4 exclusives I have to play left and if this continues finishing the game will take a long time.

I dropped my Steam Controller for the fifth or sixth time. The thing is very durable and it still works just fine but my clumsiness due to lifetime of playing on mouse and keyboard makes me worried that the next drop might cause catastrophic damage. Man, I really hope that the rumors about a Steam Controller 2.0 were true and the device was not canned, I don't want to go back to regular controllers. :crying-face:

You know, Genshin Impact is a pretty good game.
But what surprises me the most is the quality of the writing sometimes.

There are multiple states in the world. Makes sense right? Well, you see foreigners in other places. Tourists, workers, mixed nationality families adapting food to sell and raising their kid... already, it's just not a thing in 99.9999% of RPGs. NPCs live in their own bubbles, even from twenty meters away, they know nothing of the rest of the world.
But then you get a random side quest to calm down the population and avoid foreigners leaving after a terrorist attack and weakening the economy, and along the way you have to find a job for an illegal immigrant.

Like where in the fuck does that kind of very, very real problem even appear in games?
It wasn't in cutesy ARPG that I expected it, let me tell you that much.

I'm curious, those of you who don't like anime, don't you like animated movies in general?
honest answer? I'm cool with animated movies and comics (my favourites have always been European Disney comics, and the Franco-Belgian comics, like Asterix & Lucky Luke. DC/Marvel superhero comics aren't my bag either), but I loathe the manga/anime style, and always have. Plus, the more I see of it, the more I dislike it. Of course, I can tolerate it to some extent, but I really, really prefer not to see it. :sorryblob:

I stay away from anime series but you are seriously missing out on some amazing movies.
