So Tencent buying Klei means nothing for fans.

has this happened at all yet though?

There's been so much boogey man scaremongering about tencent for years now and nothing has happened.
It's just the same as any other M&A far as I can see

Yeah, Im personally very skeptical to anything with Tencent, their connection to the Chinese commie party and how the they to get they tentacles around every western dev.

But I have yet to see any signs of them controlling any western dev they have bought or invested in. So far they seem very hands-off.

It won't affect any western fans yet, they are too busy cooperating with human rights violations.

If Klei stops making them money, they'll step in. If someone at Tencent says they need to squeeze everything for more income to keep earnings up, they'll step in. Sure, maybe that'll never happen. And I've always got Mark of the Ninja and Don't Starve and ONI, so even if they never made anything else again, it was awesome.

To me it's not really about whether Tencent is hands off enough or not. It's the fact that a group as successful as Klei felt they couldn't carry on in a stable way without selling to a huge company. So many indie developers seem like they're just one busted game away from bankruptcy and I sort of worry that they are going to become more risk averse and afraid of ambitiously weird projects the closer they get to the comfort of big corporate cash. And at the same time, I don't want them to go bankrupt and not make anything at all. Or quit indie development and all go work for Microsoft.

On another note, Zachtronics sold to some bland media company that I forgot the name of. I remember he said something like he wanted to make games without having to also worry about being an employer and the finances of running a company. I wonder if Klei people thought the same thing.

So Tony Hawk will be a full EGSxclusive now?

I got a review code for the EGS version, so it's not all doomed for me if that's the thing.

I guess we'll see what happens with Activision stuff, but I don't know if this signals a full switch over.

I was hoping VV would have an opportunity to do more with the Activision properties. Being stuck with Blizzard is going to suck.

It will probably come to Battlenet now

My mouse is starting to have a problem with double clicking. I have only used it for a year and this was a replacement for another Logitech mouse that developed the same problem. :(
Open it if you can. Cleaning the interior with rubbing alcohol do wonders. Sometimes.

This means they are going to be the new Raven soft. :crying-face:

Blizzard had a lot of layoffs over the past couple years. They need all the help they can get to successfully push Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4 out the door.

Those big games will put a lot more asses in seats than Tony Hawk remakes ever will so it makes sense for Activision long term.

I've got a cheap logitech for my non-game computer with a similar problem that developed after about a year. It was double clicking and then it just stopped one day. More recently it was right clicking with the left button. That stopped too. I guess my point is that cheap mice are cheap and if you do nothing, it fixes itself. 🤔

I'm expecting everything from Activision to come to BNET now, the beta clearly shows that BNET it's not a Blizzard only launcher now.

Are the Utawaluigi games good Tactics games?
late reply but... Utawarerumono games are 4/5 VN and 1/5 strategy games, with the strategy gameplay being very easy even on hard, the battle segments are used more as a medium to enhance the storytelling rather than an actual fight, Mask of Truth has a bit more gameplay due to having more battles but that's it.
Personally I enjoyed that because I liked the battles in between, I felt like they added to how the story was being told.

Edit: also I love this song

Cheap: 1.39€ with Choice's discount.

I feel Im gonna cave into getting Dyson game before the launch discount ends.
I probably will as well, although it would be nice to get some opinions on it. I been busy making an arcade stick that also has a trackball so haven't looked at it too closely myself. I flicked through the trailer and It does all the right things by the looks of it.

Hope so too, but it looks like a list you'd see on 4chan
I won't pretend it does not have that feel to it. But apparently Queen has been reliable in the past.
A few items on that list could turn out true.
See for yourself here :

She is adamant some of it is true at least.

Oni's the next best thing to Strident, which never happened. I really like my sci-fi, melee-gun 3rd-person games and there's not nearly enough - or any - of them.

Oh, I definitely trust Queen. She's dope.

I just don't want to get my hopes up is all.

So wait, these are like early Sakura Wars games then?

RIP to The chances of Tony Hawk 3+4 or other great remakes of long dormant Activision properties. VV really knocked it out of the park with Spyro and Tony Hawk recently. The reward is to make Overwatch skins for the rest of time. Sad.

Bold of you to assume they won't get cut off the next time Kotick needs an extra paycheck.
