Why when Uplay (or whatever it's called these days) decides to update, I have to give it UAC permission 4 separate times?? I just wanna play Siege. 😓

Steam never bothers me with that stuff, even when it updates....
It asks me freaking every time I open the launcher!
And it doesn't matter if I click Yes or no, it opens after the fourth time regardless, maybe I have to say yes/no in a certain order?

I got the $4 discount last month, today they gave me a $2 discount, since I didn't had any of the games, I grabbed.

Apple, Amazon, Google, Facebook are all overdue to pick up someone for the incoming metaverse.

Big publishers are all so rich in ip and talent...its gonna happen. Just a matter of when for EA, Take-Two, Ubisoft, EPIC and maybe even CDPR.

Also the small fish out there like Remedy, Kojima, Larian all can be bought instantly.

The big Kahuna burger is Valve. Hopefully GabeN doesn't sell but it wouldn't surprise me one bit with all the giant piles of $$$ being thrown around. Everyone has a price.

The industry really is changing. Probably for the worst. Most of what we know today will be completely unrecognizable in 10 years. It will be like cassette tapes and CDs going dead while streaming takes over.

How many former EGS exclusives have appeared in a Humble Choice bundle?

It's the main reason why I don't bother buying former exclusives unless I really want the game.
Its the only way for me to consider adding an EX EGS Exclusive to my Steam Account, I got Metro Exodus, Control and now Borderlands 3 through Choice, there are a others that I skipped, like Shenmue 3.

First time - to get access to browsing history, second - social media accounts, third - file system, and finally fourth - just for fun.
Uplay, 'tis all about fun.

I'm replaying Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin (this time I'll finish it) and it's a good game, even though there are some flaws. It's not hard to notice that the development was troubled and the game definitely feels like some areas where stitched together but it still have something special that resonates with me.

arrgh nearly got the 30 mins
Some simple advice would be never have more than 1 non-damaging weapon, you need MASSIVE DPS the last minute or so of a run (laurel, clock gun, and garlic are all essentially non-DPS). The speed gloves marginally improve the DPS of the book but they don't help anything else you have, so it's a wasted slot. Wand is a solid self defense weapon with book OR garlic but with both it's mostly just another slot of lost DPS.

The book is great but it actually should be one of your lowest DPS weapons, because it doesn't scale into endgame great, it's just for pushing enemies away. Fire wand, evolved axe (early game axe is super terrible), lightning ring, tracer-prism thingy, birds are all top tier just "hit everything for piles of damage" weapons. All my sucessful runs are essentially book + as many of those as I can possibly get.

Edit: For example. Book did less damage for me because I didn't have speedy gloves but even if I did, it's eclipsed by every weapon besides bone.

I can't recall any location in Dark Souls 2 that is as blatantly unfinished as the Demon Ruins/Lost Izalith area of Dark Souls, but nobody ever complains about that. Dark Souls 2 was a good game and some of the criticism levied towards it was silly. The only thing I think they should have designed better was the near unlimited amount of healing thingies you could get that made estus management almost pointless.

The Humble choice would be great for me if I didn't already own Everhood, Before We Leave, and Calico. I want Black Book and Per Aspera but it's hardly worth the asking price for those 2.

Valve doesn't have any reason to sell unless Gabe loses the reins to someone who's a total jackass.

And I honestly can't see Amazon or Google buying studios, basically down to them not having a platform with enough users to make that remotely viable.

The Yacht Club thing might start in an hour from now. The announcement has been a bit of a mess.

Does the Borderlands 3 default edition from humble give any sort of discount to the super ultra mega deluxe edition on steam

As in it's 40$ for the "Get everything bundle" what would it take it to if anyones just got the standard version?

Today Valve announced that on March 28 that the discount cycle for products sold on Steam will be reduced to 28 days.

The change says that at minimum, 28 days must pass between the end of one discount and the start of another.

Looks like you can change your expensive classic plan to the a little cheaper premium plan without losing the full subscriber store discount

https://www.humblebundle.com/membership/change-plan

I just tried it myself
They automatically refunded me the cost difference of my already-paid classic plan, and the yearly cost is set to same as the "new" yearly plan, so I think it will happen to everyone automatically eventually. Just taking time to process each account.

That said, since I did NOT take the choice bundle last month, I am sitting at the 10% discount already. Even at 20% Humble store was often not cheaper than elsewhere (GMG, Steam itself, etc.) so I don't see myself ever using the store again.

I don't mind the hug amount of healing items it has as some challenges like finishing the game without resting in any bonfire needs all the healing items you can get.

The game tried some new ideas like using torches to navigate through dark places and power stancing. I also like how the undead curse is presented, you're losing your memories starting from the older ones and you see how it affects NPCs like Maughlin, Cale and Lucatiel. Still talking about NPCs I like how many different phantoms are in the game, and they are all different and helps to showcase all the different build possibilities the game has.

Yacht Club special starts nowish

New Yacht Club game is going to Kickstarter. It looks great, but I'm now afraid it might take a while to come out.

Isn't 277k maybe a bit too much for an 8bit(ish) game? I mean, for Sea of Stars Sabotage asked 100k and that is a game WAY more challenging and resource demanding to produce compared to the YCG one

Amazon is knee deep with game development. They released New World and they publish Lost Ark soon. They have over 100 million Prime subs and they own Twitch. Also Luna.

I think the only way Amazon can make their gaming division grow bigger at this point is to buy a big Publisher like EA or Take-Two. Talent and IP is exactly what they need now so it wouldn't surprise me if they make a big acquisition soon. They also stream football games on Prime during the NFL season so them picking up EA sports could add to the whole shitty metaverse future with Prime.

So there's no benefit to keeping my Classic humble plan anymore right?
As far as I can tell they just merged them. My account settings still say "classic" but the price matches the normal yearly and if I try to "switch" to yearly it says I'm already on that model.

Yeah, same. I never looked into what they were going to change, but I guess that confirms it.
I've been pausing for who knows how long now just to keep my classic plan just in case, I guess I can finally stop. :grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes:

I didn't know Steam Link on Android was supporting 120fps now. I've been playing through Ghostrunner on my phone and at 120fps it looks stunning and I can't notice any input delay. Crazy.

My s20+ high refres amoled panel is doing wonders to the game.

Only the audio has a small delay, but input-wise it's flawless. And I'm two rooms away from the router.

I might dare to say playing like this is probably better than on a Steam Deck because of high refresh and the hability to crank every setting to the max because of my 3080 in the PC.
