The developers of this game was bought out by crypto exchange and they are planning to add NFTs.

I had actually heard lots of good things about this game and was considering trying it. Now I never will. Terrible move by the developers to sell out to Crypto bros. Hope they go bankrupt.

I don't think it will work out for them to be honest. The reviews are starting to roll in. Already at 350+ negative reviews and most of them seem to be about the Crypto deal.

I mean, unless they can convince somebody like EA to put them into FUT, they are on a hiding to nothing. Even the more succesfult cons, sorry I mean NFT deals (honest), has been tangential to games like the Konami NFT's.

The details of exactly how those cards will be enjoined to blockchain technology remains somewhat up in the air. Across my interviews I heard mention of unique tokens that will enhance gameplay, and the possibility of being the "only one on the planet that owns this version of this card." But, these ideas were always referred to as prototypes, and no one was willing to commit to either a format or timeframe for when the public might see the first fruits of this new union.
First that sounds like Pay to Win and secondly none of that requires NFT's to actually work.

Im moving! Had our exchange yesterday, completion will be tomorrow (really short notice, got to pack up everything today).

Woo. Moving from my little 1 bed flat into an cute bungalow with my partner.

I don't know how to feel about the new Witcher with UnrealEngine.

UE has never been an engine for open world rpgs. There is a certain jank to it that fits better with open world action games like Batman or third person shooter etc. but an rpg like Witcher with sword combat, dialogue convos, cities etc. I see new Witcher not playing well at all but graphics should be good from the marketing perspective.

I think they should have stuck to Redengine. I know CP2077 had a lot of issues but the core tech was still impressive asf. The game was ridiculously ambitious but mechanically sound. Crazy that they would give up on it.
Probably why CDPR have committed to working on the engine with Epic. If this new Witcher game tanks, they'll probably dust off Red for further use or create a new one. Even a good deal with Epic still sees license fees their own engine wouldnt have.

We don't know so much what the new Witcher game will be. Will it have open world like Witcher 3 had? They could use UE to make action Witcher game instead of an RPG, it can be anything

LUNACID was very good until it wasn't at all. Take the following with my subjectivity in mind.

This very much feels like an unfinished game, which it is and doesn't try to hide. By unfinished I mean you can tell the base is there but there will be a ton of tweaking before it turns into what it wants to be. Like my best example is how difficult it is to know in combat if you are in a safe spot or in harm's way. Adversaries lack some tells, some animations, the ingredients necessary to turn combat from 'I guess it's there' to 'Those are some good fights'.
Some zones are far too empty or simply repetitive with not much in them. Plot is very Bloodborne, batshit crazy and nonsensical. Some zone lore is on point (meet the monks, read on what happened and be creeped).
There is a very real potential, but between the obviously immature elements and the fact that the game is EA, I would say that the only point of buying it now is for the discount.

Early Access game is not finished and needs a ton of tweaks, shocking, I know.

I'm expecting a shadow drop, and it's also possible that it won't be exactly 1 year after the EGS release (could happen weeks or even months later? Who knows with squeenix).

I would say if it would come it probably will be announced during the KH anniversary event on April

New charity bundle (50+ games) on Fanatical, with all proceeds going to Ukraine relief efforts:



While that bundle may lack some "heavyweights" compared to other bundles, it has plenty of cool indie games, including titles that were on my wishlist (like At Eve's Wake) whose lower "on sale" price is pretty much the price of the whole bundle alone.

Got Dyson vacuum cleaner today and that is good and bad thing. What that damn thing pulled out of carpets even though i vacuumed them like 2 days ago with old vacuum cleaner is disgusting XD But that is a good thing because my house will be cleaner and healthier living space. But bad thing is that my gaming budget got lower significantly XD Steam Deck is still on the table but i will need to cut some other things.

Kind of shocked at how bad SUPERHOT VR is. It adds nothing interesting, it controls badly, is inaccessible to probably the majority of VR owners, and doesn't actually fix any of the issues with the original game. You would be better off playing the flat version with the headset as your monitor using KB+M over playing the VR version. It took less than 90 minutes to get through everything and that's with a fair bit of AFK time during that. It encourages you to replay or go for challenges but it's such a bad experience I don't know why I would. It could have been fun if they didn't use design ideas from 20 years ago and actually tried to embrace VR instead of forcing it in.

Oh I really don't think anything is interesting about original SUPERHOT but the VR version is great. Yeah the VR version is short, but unlike the flat version, movement actually passes time (in the flat one, you can aim shots perfectly without using time), and VR actually feels like an action movie due to the moves you're making, whereas the non-VR one feels like a super basic FPS.

I check flats around my area weekly, but nothing really jumps at me.

I'm also dreading moving with the OLED. That shit is heavy and I don't have the box anymore. Would probably need to hire some pros to take care of it.

Agree to disagree I guess. The first was an interesting puzzle game, the VR version is a janky physics puzzle with a bunch of restrictions. I never did anything "cool" in the VR one due to how it moved and how the levels were designed. The AI was so bad that some attempts you could just stand there because they were shooting into the floor. Other times I'm standing there just holding a weapon in front of me waiting for bullets to hit it because your hitbox is so huge and the time movement so jumpy you can't do certain things half the time or else you die. Despite being in VR it is much less open than the original.

And that doesn't even get into all the "gotcha" designs in the levels where you get shot from what was empty or "off screen" on like the 4th or 5th room in a chain and have to redo everything, because THAT'S certainly "fun". If a game is going to lean into "do it again, stupid," it has to at least flow well and encourage either learning or choice-making on redos and it does neither of those things.

Pistol Whip makes me feel more action-movie-esque and it's an on-rails rhythm game.

Edit: I'm not dissing the shortness specifically. I'm surprised with how short it is that it wasn't good elsewhere. I have never been sad about a game being short, and never refunded one of those "under 2 hour" ones, although I would have with SUPERHOT VR because it was just bad AND short. If it had been longer and not gotten better I would have just abandoned it.

Superhot VR is a nice beginner VR game. I fail to see any issue with the controls, it's a 1:1 as any, throwing works, shooting also, punching is solid too.. It's not the same kind of game as the non VR version outside the time mechanics and more of a shooting gallery puzzle given the small levels you don't travel through but are confined to the starting zone/your play area with no locomotion. Still I wouldn't call it more limited, you can still do most actions from the original, use anything as a thrown weapon, disarm enemies etc. and physically dodge/get in cover. The hitbox is mostly confined to the upper area, very forgivingly. There is no waiting, you can always perform a motion with your other hand or head to advance time. Now if you're already past the beginner VR phase and play actual full on FPS games with full locomotion a la Alyx I can see it having less value but it's not badly made. One thing janky at launch was the super power thing but it was patched. Although I haven't replayed it to know what effect the removal of certain self harm allusions may have on the game flow it was a very minor part. I'd have loved a sequel with full locomotion/levels, kind of taking the form of some VR Hotline Miami type game with the action and fun amped up to 11. I enjoy Pistol Whip with the deadeye modifier which makes it so you need to aim (even if I suck) like a musical Virtua Cop, otherwise it wouldn't be my kind of game.

Wish I was into this game (or that it was a solo/co-op/sandbox/campaign geared affair instead of f2p pvp). Seems like it's all Gaijin does, why don't they try to branch off, they could take some of the simulator audience with certain packages using the same engine and assets but a different simulator or simcade focus.

Anyway, great engine since its Wings of Prey iteration in 2009 (!) and they seem to be keeping it in great shape since with the constant War Thunder updates 🤤

It has been many years since I last played Superhot VR on my CV1, but it seemed super polished back then. I wonder if some bad updates have come out, because it didn't seem the least bit janky, nor really physics based (it is/was really deterministic, to a fault kinda).
