So honestly, I have no idea how people today who has never heard about the game will find about it's existence
Epic's entire concept on discovery seems to be focused on streamers/influencers and referral links. This may work for licensed and multiplayer focused games like Ghostbusters, but definitely not for certain other genres.

Personally I don't follow any streamers, but that's probably because of my age and family situation. I don't even have time to play the games I want to play, so why should I bother watching other people playing? The only exception are gamers with extraordinary skills. I really enjoyed Games Done Quick for example.

You guys worry too much about EGS. ;)

Really, don't get worked up. You're placing far too much importance and value on Epic's store.
Fortunately, there's plenty of alternatives, and no one is forced to use it. Why spend time "stressing" about a certain game possibly being timed exclusive to a store or not (like the upcoming Witcher game)? There's so many great stuff releasing every day elsewhere, it's almost impossible to keep up. Well, at least I know I can't keep up, both financially, and in terms of time to play them.

I have resorted to making a list of the titles I most want, to cut back on my purchases, and for the coming months there's always at least 4-5 titles I would like to buy.

As those who know me know, I'm a huge fan of the Ghostbusters franchise, and that Ghostbusters game would be a day one purchase for me, despite not being a big fan of that whole 4 vs 1 asymmetric gameplay. I know countless people enjoy and play similar games, but I honestly never really connected with the genre.
It's launching exclusively on EGS (the Evil Dead game as well), and... well, it is what it is. I can't say I feel particularly upset by it. EGS has become a minor annoyance, nothing more.
When it launches on Steam, and receives a major discount, I'll likely buy them, since I'm a sucker for both franchises, but until then there's plenty of stuff to keep me busy.

This is not a personal criticism to anyone, but I wish people would have a more positive approach to videogames. :)
It's a hobby. You're supposed to have fun with it, not getting worked up, or even upset. Play some games, alone or with friends, share some recommendations, or even engage in some "modding", if you are the creative type. Value your time, and your mental well-being a bit.

Man it sucks getting old, my back is fucked, the pain is quite something! And genuinely would love a cain at times!
Other than visiting doctor i would recommend you swimming. It really helps me and it is really great activity because it doesn't put that much pressure on your body except working out your muscles.

No idea if we could say it here, but I'm at the point I use the "Timmy pass" for those EGS exclusive games, well is more like I use the seven-seas version for all non-Steam games, except for nukiges and some other japanese visual novel that I gladly buy on other non-drm stores without Steam censorship, or special cases like RedCandle's Devotion that were delisted cause China, but they're very easy to add and launch with Steam.

My steam library have 916 legit games and really hate to split my PC library. I prefer to buy those EGS or some Ubisoft games on PS5 or Series X before purchase them on EGS, like Scott Pilgrim f.e., but I would like to play them on PC :-(

Dusk Diver combat really is satisfying. Visually it looks fantastic, the feedback is great, and while it's overall pretty simple in terms of attack button you still have some variety by mixing in the 3 different guardians. It's a bit like V from DMC5 lite by having the summon attacks being kind of independent from your regular combo-strings.

I wanted to argue with you, but I really couldn't. This is really the only healthy attitude to take, even if a favorite franchise goes to EGS.

This, this, this. I think I've seen this a lot on here and not just with EGS talk frankly.

Full Steam Ahead
The Guild Wars 2 community has grown quite a bit over the last few years, but it could be even bigger. Now that Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons is released, one of our top priorities as a studio is getting Guild Wars 2 ready for release on Steam and introducing the world of Tyria to an entirely new audience of gamers.

You only get to launch on Steam once, and we want to make sure we do it right. Over the coming months we’ll be wrapping up work on the Steam integration, cleaning up some aspects of the early game experience, and ensuring that the game and the studio are operationally ready for a new platform launch. We’re also working on getting DirectX11 ready to exit beta and making it the default graphics setting for new users.

We’re not ready to commit to a hard date for Steam quite yet, but our hearts are set on launching this year. We’ll keep you updated as things progress.

You can have fun with games, and speak out against EGS at the same time, those things are not mutually exclusives, if everybody was silent about EGS, PC gaming would be in a worst state than it already is.

Revealed content
As a person with clinical mental disorder, PC gaming is a big part of what I use to cope, the health of the industry is very important to me, so EGS is a little bit more than an annoyance.

What is the oldest unreleased title on Steam? As in a store page has been up for years but nothing has come out.

I think this one has got to be up there, I remember playing a demo for this at an expo 8 years ago...
I have that game. :giggle:
I mean, I pre-ordered that game years ago (2015!) from his website, and have access to an alpha/beta/whatever (I don't know what the developer now calls it at the moment).

Believe it or not, the game is frequently updated, and continues to be worked on.
I played some of the previous versions, but I haven't played it in a while.

I'm really not sure why the game isn't out yet. Even back in 2015, the game was perfectly playable, and quite an improvement on the first game.

In case anyone is interested in buying it (with the obvious warning that the game has been in "early access" for 7+ years, so there's always a chance a final release will never happen), you can do so through a humble widget at:

It's $9,99 for a steam key for this game (with immediate access to the "testing" versions), a steam key for the first game, and a few extras.

Aye
I wonder how the standalone game would've been
The screenshots on the store page are still cool :)
Yeah the game looked awesome It remembered me Witchaven a lot but with modern technology, Would have been great Techland sold the IP to other devoloper/publisher. I want one game like this (Witchaven, Hexen or Dark Messiah, etc...) on current systems and with a decent budget. I miss this fantasy (swords, might and magic) first person games, I believed that with Doom franchise resurgence we would have seen them.

its unlisted but still there: EITR

has had a store page since... 2015?

also unlisted: Hellraid

been there since 2014
Man I remembered being really excited for both of these. I know Hellraid became DLC for Dying Light (very disappointed this didn't stay a full game) instead but what happened to EITR?

3070ti installed and working A-ok. Was worried at first since the PC wouldn't display, but it was my own fault since one of the two-pin extensions wasn't actually connected to the PSU. (Modular.)

Also happy to report that registering it on EVGA website was SUPER easy. 3-years Warranty just for registering it. :giggle:

Finally RTX and DLSS... I can check out these new technologies. And suddenly I feel motivated to actually check out Cyberpunk 2077, which I've had since day-1 lol.

Ah shit, when does this happen? There's so much stuff I want to do before getting to the cain-stage.
I sold a foil card for almost $8 on Steam today.
Damn, congratulations. What are you gonna do to celebrate the occasion?

Well I’m 43 next week, but I’ve had back pain a few times already through the years. Think it’s like after 30 that the body stops being a young man’s body that can take any kind of mistreatment.

Yeah it's always crazy, I posted on here a year or two ago when i sold a foil pack for around $70, which allowed me to get Resident evil 8 day 1 and some other game.
I've got another Foil that I believe sells for $500, still waiting on someone to buy that though.

Gaming is a lot more than a hobby for me. It's my passion. That's why I care so much about both great AND shitty stuff happening to PC gaming. :)

This said, I don't "worry" about EGS anymore since their money hatting strategy is obviously failing. But it still annoys me, and venting my thoughts here is a great way for me to deal with this.

EITR is still being worked on! Not sure how far they are, they just say its still in development whenever asked.

When i got my 3070, i mad the galaxy brained mistake of daisychaining my PSU connections.

But now that you got it working, time to test the limits of your GPU with some Visual Novels and Pixelated Indiegames!

Tomorrow is the first day I have to go back into the office after two years. I know it has been a privilege to be able to work from home this entire time, but I am still annoyed I have to go in since I will no longer have an assigned desk and it is not like we have many in-person meetings to begin with. It is largely just going to mean more distractions, folks coming in sick and getting everyone else sick (now with added Covid), and worse coffee.
Ooof. This big push to get back into office culture is so weird. And probably premature vaccines or not, given another new variant is cropping up. 😕
Make sure you stay safe and don't get lax with any safety if you can help it. Especially now you got a kiddo at home.

GOT MY STEAMDECK MAIL :h02totallynotmoaning:
Woo-hoo! Steamdeck and chill? :giggle:

But when will they announce their return to Steam? :anguished-face: I'd really like to see their before and after sales numbers on PC, since they left Steam...

So far I ran the benchmark for FFXV at max settings and was amazed that even poorly optimized as it is, it never dipped below 60 FPS. Than I ran Shadow of the Tomb Raider to check out Quality DLSS and Ray-Tracing. Super impressed with that too.

I'm really happy with it. Realistically I won't be going out of my way to go play something fancy, I'm like 45% through Elden Ring and wanna finish that to completion. My 1080ti ran this game just fine, so i'm not sure I'll see any real benefits here.

One small thing I'm actually really happy about that is completely random... My 1080ti would idle at 1400+Mhz, just on my desktop. It would only clock down if i turned off the monitors to a respectable idle. Nvidia has known about this bug for years, and it effected 10xx series and later if you had high refresh rate + Multi-monitor.

Buttttt, now with the 3070ti, my desktop idle is 210Mhz. So I'll save a lot of power draw thanks to this small thing. My 1080ti idle temp was 54C thanks to always running at 1400+Mhz, but my 3070ti idles at 25C with no fans on. :thumbsupblob:

Before leaving Steam

24% of 605.8 m€

After leaving Steam

29% of 746.1 m€

(very scientific method :p )
So i guess in their eyes they don't really have to return to steam or feel any pressure.
Though now i wonder how much of this bump is from the Covid surge that pretty much all platforms received anyway...

I think you'd be keeping a close eye on Steams numbers and calculating what growth you would have had there. I always think that unless you know more about all of the costs that companies have then any number is going to be pulled out of someones ass.

Earlier this month, when the listings for Dungeons & Dragons re-releases appeared on Steam, I posted some info about the company publishing these, SNEG:

Since not many people venture outside of the main Steam thread, I would like to point out Krvavi Abadas's thread with some further research and info on who this company is, since this team of mostly ex-GOG staff currently lack an online presence.
It's well worth a look:
