Wow, the video with the cooling block is just crazy. Not using the manual the company sends you, using the wrong fucking GPU, and then literally stealing their expensive as fuck prototype and auctioning it off. That is just next level douchebaggery, and downright criminal.
yup, that sounds like Linus alright

i still remember him shilling for crypto

GN is correct as usual but making a 45 minute takedown video because they got pissed about an off hand comment from someone who isn't Linus is hilarious.

LTT is just a vehicle to sell you shit, whether it's from their own store or someone else.

The only 'famous' youtuber i can't stand is Jayztwocents, I hate that guy lol

LTT videos are entertaining and the products they release are expensive, but generally high quality. I have their screwdriver and their northern lights mousepad and they’re pretty much a cut above anything in the same or higher price range.

But they haven’t proven themselves as a testing outfit yet and to throw shit at other more established YouTubers in the space is a level of hubris that’s gonna end badly for them.

And then there’s all the other stuff mentioned in the video (especially the Billet Labs thing). A big yikes from me.

For me, BG3 is currently my game of the year. Really really enjoying it so far, even though I only have a paltry 25 hours into the quest, still working my way through Act I. But there is just so much to love about it.

However I am looking forward to Starfield. I have loved Biowares open world games for a long time. For me they get the exploration just right. That I can just wander around and they are happy to have areas where nothing happens, to just have some dead space in the game. So as long as it doesn't make a major mistep in the coming weeks it may well give BG3 a run for it's money.

AC6 was always one I am interested in but was going to be a discount game for me. I am not a fan of Fromsoft games, I appreciate what they do and like that they make games for a specific section of the fanbase. But AC6 was intriguing me as it appears to be more based around your builds. But I am not curious enough for full price.

As to Halls of Torment, like a couple of others I have dropped off a bit for it. It just doesn't seem to be able to hold my attention after 32hrs with it. However Holocure is due towards the end of the week. So that may fill the hole.

GN video on LTT is already at 1M, people love this drama shit lmao
GN has quality info and is trustworthy, unlike LTT. I watch a ton of GN's stuff so seeing their content gets a million views is abnormal but IMO worthy.

Also the GN video is really just telling facts. They aren't even monetizing the dram, video isn't monetized intentionally, it's just about telling how it is. That's the difference between them and a place like LTT.

I think what irks Steve the most is that while Linus claimed he 'stepped down', he very much remains in charge, so ultimately everything his channels output is still his responsibility, but uses the amount of shit they output as shield to criticism (we just cant review everything bro), and having one of his employees namedropping GN with a comment like 'we test better than them' wasn't going to fly with him.

As far as I remember Linus stepped down officially recently and some content was recorded before that. Just to be clear I don't mind calling out BS, it is actually good thing that these YT channels kinda keeping each other in check. None of them are perfect (looking at Hardware Unboxed). But I also watch them for different reasons. I never expected supper detailed revies from LTT, and i never expected fun and easily digestible content from Tech Jesus (also one day he will get someone else to present their great tests because Tech Jesus himself has so monotonous delivery that often can put you to sleep). And I stopped watching Hardware Unboxed when they started using Last of Us PC port as evidence that 8GB GPUs are done.

Savvy games is the other partner that backed out that caused the massive collapse for Embracer.
Looking at the company, savvy seems like an entirely new company that hasn't actually spend any money on any specific project yet? Feels weird to put so much stock on an entirely untested partner. But I guess being smart about your risks isn't the Embracer way.

All that oil money flying around in gaming and football. What's the lesser of two evils, China money or Saudi money?

(just to be clear to anyone from China or Saudi Arabia, nothing against normal people like us, more against the current 'governments' and their cronies).

They are more like an investment group than a game developer. They own parts of larger game companies around the world, such as Nintendo and Activision Blizzard. Last year they acquired 8% of Embracer

If you start tracing money that is invested in gaming companies by big corporations and rich individuals you won't like it any more than Saudi money investment. There is no lesser evil and in general amount of people who knows about these investments, and % of those people who care about that is so minor that there won't be any change even if some form of protest/boycott pops up. So I really don't see the point of even caring anymore at this point.

Still in the thinking about purchasing Starfield premium on key sellers phase. 75 is not impulse buy territory at all !

I just can't get hyped for Starfield :(

BETHESDA + Space game with no aliens?
Eh, it has been years since I played a Beth 'RPG', and I think I would enjoy the ride again. And I hope it's solid enough to be a game that will entertain me for at least one month, like BG3.
...
But a space game without alien is a crime. Even if there is a surprise ancient alien civilization or alien magic.

I just want a Star Wars CRPG without the Space Ninja Monks, is it too much to ask ?

God, I'd love a Star Wars or LotR CRPG

Yesterday I went and saw Coraline remastered in theaters. Funny enough I think 70% of the theater was full. This was one of the 4 showings the movie was going to have.

Also I did it ...... Hektor I officially pre-ordered the 1 Prime 1/3 2B DX statue. And it only cost me under $1.7k USD.

My only regret now (sort of ) is buying the 1/4 scale non DX one. Since I payed $1.2k for it. I didn't pre-order it and had to buy it from an Amazon Japan reseller right before it released and had to use a mail forwarding thing. Has I waited just 3 weeks I could have gotten it for about $300USD cheaper. Oh well.

Got to say, BG3 has kind of rekindled my interest in CRPG’s. Thinking I may go back to the original sin games or Pathfinder.

And I am really looking forward to Owlcats Rogue Trader (I love the 40K setting but also realise it is an acquired taste). But it would be great if somebody could do a Starfinder or a a New Shadowrun/Cyberpunk Red.

hell even something along the lines of the Call of Cthulhu TRPG would be great.

I'm having tons of fun with Overwatch 2, playing mainly as Orisa.

No one wants to tank on this game for some reason.
I've been playing a lot since the Steam version released. I haven't played since Ana's release in 2016 which is an eternity and I find all the new heroes to be interesting to use. I don't deny that the game has had troubled development, but the actual game itself is enjoyable when I'm winning.

BETHESDA + Space game with no aliens?

I think there will be aliens in Starfield. It won’t be a Mass Effect or Star Trek-style. Probably more like The Expanse, which is fine by me if the writing holds up.

The main story mission in the game seems to be searching for intelligent alien life so it will definitely have aliens.

The question is whether its small scale stuff or they actually crafted together an fully blown alien planet for the endgame.

Speaking of Starfield...Bethesda dumped a bunch of story lore on the Starfield site spanning 300 years of what happened leading into when we start playing the game.

And the earliest parts of the lore state we colonize Mars by 2050 and live in space by 2100. No chance of either of those happening before the end of the century so Todd is telling lies.

Also more than a hundred years of beef/wars between the Freestar Collective and the United Colonies. Looks like its gonna be the center point of the background conflicts in the game. Hopefully the game has some fun and interesting faction quests.

Holy shit. I thought Obsidian was lost forever. It was available through other means, but I could never get it to work on modern machines. I remember playing this as a stupid kid and never getting past the early large six sided bureaucracy room with the cubicles (the one in this screenshot). Always wanted to see what was past that but never wanted to look up a let's play so I could experience it myself. Finally I have my chance!
