I recently saw this in the store:

"This is Food" is basically a drinkable meal; and I buy those anyway sometimes, was just surpised to see a Starfield collaboration...OR that these kinds of collabs even still happen ;)

I saw a collab on a Monster can not too long ago... I think it was Apex Legends. Maybe. It wasn't a game I care about so I guess I already forgot.

Ive had this problem with my deck, that when I play it unplugged, demanding games occasionally drop from like 50 fps to 8 fps for like 30 seconds. It doesn't. happen if I play plugged in, so now I play all the time like that, But would be nice to know why it happens. Any ideas?

I mean atleast you guys have the Deck there. I'm in a place where none of the Steam hardware has ever come, and doubt it ever will.

Not that it matters tbh, not sure how much I'd use the Deck.

Just ordered the 256 gb Deck.

Feels as the best version for me, will mainly use it for smaller games as I have my desktop PC for the bigger games.
You can always just use Steam’s LAN download feature from your main PC to your Deck and just swap games in and out as you’re playing them.

256gb is mostly okay for that. I personally went up to 1tb and I like having lots of free space, but I was perfectly fine with 256gb up until I upgraded.

Australia? At least you got lots of cute spiders and other crawly beasts to keep you company at night

I mainly meant performance wise, I already have an unused SD card if I need more space.

Thinking about using it as a device for Stardew Valley with mods, Isaac, Factorio, certain strategy games, roguelikes, Project Zomboid, Rimworld, indies etc. Maybe certain AA games.

I just like playing games like Elden Ring, Resident Evil and such on a big screen.

I don't think I'll ever read another VN unless I get a handheld. Can't do it on a desktop anymore. I guess I could read in bed with a laptop but I don't have one currently.

Shit, fucking nice. I look for the Baldur games I have on steam, make a typo... and steam still points to what I own. One of those super cool search engines. Not so frequent on the Internet.

If you have a tablet, I've found it's a good use case for VN over Steam Link app. At least on Android. Plus you can get a solid used Android tablet for less than $200 which is way cheaper than a handheld PC :P

well that's that, my super-slow playthrough of P3P has come to an end, time to start Trails to zero, then azure and then replay CS3+4 before jumping into Reverie.
Those will be my games until the end of the year I guess.

My super slow playthrough of Trails Into Reverie continues. Finally hit Act 4. Story is picking up but uh... so many characters to manage lol.

Went to see Oppenheimer, great film with surprisingly decent politics

Lucky you! I went to the movies as well, but my wife and daughter picked Barbie. While this film has lots of great ideas and decent jokes, the story is a huge mess and contains way too much boring and unnecessary scenes. Incredible that this movie breaks all records...

Barbie is indeed fun but its criticisms fall flat because ultimately it's a production from a megacorporation.

Observing BG3s insane word of mouth and mindsharee right now, there's is no doubt Steam is a huge factor to it. Amount of reviews, raw player numbers, top on the best seller chart etc.

And Valve paid nothing for it to be exclusive.

Damn, PC sites are so bad. We already had settled on PC Gamers being shit, but seeing RPS report on the BG3 ‘drama’ a few weeks late is just pathetic.

The BG3 is an anomaly, don’t expect that from us tweets.
Just read their article on it, and it summaries things in a decent way, I would say, with what I would call a balanced view point, as it also criticised the feeling of many modern games that feel more like storefronts that want to sell you things.
It is pretty late, but I think it's also important to consider that not everyone is following news as much as we are here, and for people who might only occasionally check news via RPS, there might still be value in summarising things, especially now that the game is out and we know how good it really is

True. I guess I’m just far more cynical and see a click fishing attempt.

I haven't seen the RPS article, but it's probably because IGN rage baited with a new video on the subject.

I think I’m done with Halls of Torment for now. The game kinda lost steam after a while for me.
Same -- I've completed most of the quests and characters, but it's actually hard to lose a run now. Can't complain, since I definitely got my money's worth out of it so far, and there's a new stage and stuff still coming. Great game.

Thinking about Starfield made me remember this older game (10 points if you get it without looking).
More than 10 years old, incredibly buggy but super ambitious for the time.

Some Features:
  1. Unique gameplay: mix of RPG/FPS/Space simulator.
  2. Very different planets to walk around absolutely free.
  3. More than 250 diversified quests.
  4. Partly organic weapons with ammunition that must be bred.
  5. Controllable spaceships, robots and other vehicles.
  6. Stunning space battles with boarding included.
  7. Big number of unusual enemies (Plants, Insects, Birdmen, etc).
  8. Trading possibilities with complex circulation of goods.
  9. Interaction with hundreds of NPC of different Alien races.
  10. Real-time weather effects, day/night and atmosphere changes

The werid thing is, BG3 is awesome, but I'm still looking forward to Starfield more than it. Just the feeling of going through my original Skyrim experience. Who knows, maybe now I'm older and I won't enjoy it as much, but that original Skyrim run is still with me form the beginning till the end.

I'm 55 hrs into BG3 and it is amazing. One of the best games I ever played but it hasn't killed my hype for Starfield in any way.

Both games are very different and there is still so much unknown with Starfield. Its also a relaxing shooter syfy rpg which will feel completely different than BG3.

If anything BG3 kinda killed my hype for Armored Core VI. I'm thinking of putting it off to later in the year and picking up the premium edition of Starfield. And jumping straight into Starfield 5 days early as I finish up BG3 over these next 2 weeks.
