Speaking of games on sale, my favourite shmup on Steam (by a long margin) is also currently on sale:

Yes, the game is more expensive than most shmups on Steam, but it has a ton of content, which should keep you busy for a very long time.

This game is good junk food. There's always something new to chew on to keep coming back to.

My absolute favorite shmup is also on sale, 50% off

If you do buy it, you need to try and beat my high score on chapter 1.

Smell of new thread, ah yes.
Slow month for me, no game releases that get me put back my pants after Sekiro.

I think I'll get Shibuya Scramble and Valkyria Chronicles 4. The price is right but I've only just started Yakuza Kiwami and I want to finish it before YK2 comes out. What to do... ?

There are no backlogs, only ever-growing libraries.
I had my fiancee look through my steam library last night to see if there was anything she would want to try, and there were three games... I have something like 490 games. Too many shooters I guess. I need more games with co-op that aren't Cuphead (that was a disaster)

Thankfully the rest of may looks lean in terms of releases I'd be picking up. I backed Pathologic, so I won't count that.

This is so dumb.
I'm not going to buy a game on a platform I don't own to get them on a platform I own. That makes no snse.

Yeah, that's just PR-speak for...a buncha BS. They might not want to bring a port over at all for whatever reason but don't want to alienate any fans.

I keep reading that but as a fan of SHMUPs, there are a lot of cheaper options. Plus I get dizzy looking a 1000000 DLC.

this one looks interesting

Looks like the Cuphead aesthetic with 10 fewer frames of animation per second.

Has anyone tried Chaos Child?

I plan to buy three or four games and Chaos is fighting for the last spot with Dariusburst :p

Help please :D

Chaos;Child is great, IMO the best of the SciADV series.
Leagues ahead Steins;Zero, tad better than Steins;Gate.
Just be warned, the game has a protagonist which makes Okabe seem likeable, well-adjusted individual. And it goes to some really dark places.
I mean it starts with a guy live-streaming eating his own hand

Those DLCs are for its own separate mode, where you have even more stages, ships, and music, based on other shmup games.
They are pretty much "fan service", have no impact on the actual main game modes (they are for its own DLC mode), and to be honest while I own them all, the main game modes have so much content, I probably spent 1-2 hours on this mode, compared to the rest of the actual main game content (where I'm still nowhere near seeing everything from the CS Mode, let alone the 3000+ stages and variations from Chronicle Mode). :)

I don't own Chaos;Child, but like I mentioned above, DARIUSBURST Chronicle Saviours is a personal favourite (one of my favourite games in my 9000+ Steam library), and it has so much content, you'll probably still see and hear new things in a couple of years.

It's a two-in-one release, since it features an arcade perfect port of the Dariusburst: Another Chronicle EX arcade machine, and a new mode for home platforms, CS Mode, where you have hundreds of stages that cover events from all Darius games, and feature tracks from all their soundtracks.
The soundtrack alone features hundreds of awesome Zuntata tracks, and it's unbelievably good.

Since the sale still lasts a few days, how about buying DARIUSBURST Chronicle Saviours, give the game a try for an hour or so (don't forget to check the CS Mode, which is played in a 16:9 aspect ratio, and is the one I spend most of my time), and if you don't enjoy it, you can always refund it, and give Chaos;Child a go.

I'm currently playing through it on Vita and I'm not loving it.

The plot starts out interesting enough but the pacing is nauseatingly slow (worse than Steins;Gate imo), and it all goes kinda off the rails in a bad/dumb way when what's "really" going on becomes clear. But I'm only at the end of my "first" playthrough, i.e. haven't gotten close to the true end of all the other bad/alternative endings. Perhaps I'll end up liking it? I'll finish it eventually but only because I've already invested far too much time into this and I want to see it through. Oh yeah, and as Knurek said, the protag a complete tool. Okabe doled out the crazy in waves at least; this dude is just constantly a whiny misanthrope. Thankfully you can turn off the voice acting for individual characters though.

But I've not yet finished the game! A lot of people seem to like it, and I've heard more than once that the ending is really good, so perhaps it's simply a slow burn.

Speaking of VNs, I am loving 428 Shibuya Scramble. Should never have hesitated getting this. What a wonderful game.

oh god that Intellivision thing? Earthworm Jim? Not like this....

Also hell yeah Talisman: Origins. I really like the board game, so I'm down to check out a cool single player version of that.
I still need to finish fucking Sekiro and play Yakuza Kiwami 2 tho.

The NA version of Rage 2 is only 3 dollars off the base price on Cdkeys. Not worth it.

Woops, you are right I was looking at AUS key price. I'd rather pay the extra $20 anyways to have all my Bethesda games in one place :)
We wont have to "link" the game to bethesda.net and launch it from there like uplay will we?

Don’t think so. It would be listed on the store page. Plus they recently started registering steam achievements for it according to completionist.me so it seems like its using Steamworks.

Thanks a lot for your replies Knurek, FunktionJCB and daxy. (y);)

After reading your thoughts, I consider that picking Dariusburst is the safest bet. The discount is greater and it's rarely on sale.

I will buy Chaos Child further down the road.

In case you are wondering my other 3 picks for this sale are 428 shibuya scramble, Mary Skelter and Tokyo Xanadu.

Glad I could help. :cat-heart-blob:
When you give it a try, please post your impressions. ;)

I bought 428: Shibuya Scramble and Tokyo Xanadu eX+ myself (and I already own Mary Skelter). :p

NISA pretty much gave up on porting NIS games to PC, so ... don't expect them any time soon (if ever)

I'm bored so ive been going around SteamCharts and its really interesting to see how big of a player jump some of the games in the sale have gotten. Ni No Kuni 2, Danganronpa 1 and Valkyria Chronicles 4 have gotten a pretty nice player bump in particular. I was worried about VC4 on PC so hopefully it sold well enough to be successful.

I just suscribed to humble bundle. I once bought AC:Origins but refunded it on Steam because it didnt ran so well, but I've upgraded my PC since then.

But now my anxiety is telling me that maybe the game wasnt removed from my uplay store and I just wasted 10 bucks.

If you go to the Steam Controller store page, you are able to enter how many controllers you want to buy (1, 2, 3, etc). Was this a recent addition?

Probably because you need to order two base stations, they enabled this for physical products. Previously it has only existed for commercial licenses, where you buy games per seat.

Those entries are left, uplay will authenticate with steam and you can download or launch it.

My guess is that Humble would have failed to redeem my key if I already had the game.

Nope. It would redeem a 2nd copy of the game to your uplay account. I accidentally redeemed my Humble Monthly copy of The Division even though I already have it through Steam, Now Uplay lists 2 versions of the game. The only difference is the box art is a slightly different tint. It drives me insane.

If you refund a Ubisoft game on Steam it removes it from your Uplay account too by the way.

It seems that I'm on the clear then, only one copy here.

Thanks for helping me calm my anxiety haha things like this drive me insane, especially since I'm short on money x.x

Production Line beat Factorio to an official release, huh?

I am always skeptical of Early Access. You're never certain if they are working on, or will ever finish the game.

to be fair - Factorio is getting updated like crazy ... at this point i'd say there's very little chance of it not getting to 1.0 :P

Four Last Things had some good bits but I definitely had to break out a guide a couple times, typical adventure nonsense :P
