Shantae is one of those series I was sure of I'd like but could never get into. I think I played one of them on 3DS and then another on PC. Actually, it might've been the same game but a remake. Maybe this will be the one. Great art direction, as usual.

It was legendary on the forums over here. We laughed and laughed and laughed. One of those moments you don't forget.
I mean, how do you not get what it's trying to do? As a sports reviewer surely he'd have realised it was a mangement Sim?
Comedy gold.

Found some old quotes:
That's pretty incredible.
You'd have thought that their editor would have acted as a sanity check, but I guess that they were just as ignorant.

I found a full copy of the text here:

Ninja-edit:
After they pulled the review, IGN put up the following apology:
December 5, 2008 - We missed the mark -- that's the only way to explain why we've pulled the U.S. review of Worldwide Soccer Manager 2009 off our site.

After seeing the community feedback and having more editors look at the title, we agree with the readers that our original review didn't give Worldwide Soccer Manager 2009 a fair shake. Unfortunately, our critical analysis of WWSM '09 focused more on what the author wanted it to be rather than what the product actually was. We review games at IGN based on their own merits, and agree that it was unreasonable to compare WWSM '09 with action-oriented sports titles like FIFA or Pro Evolution Soccer. Because of the unfair comparison, we have deemed the review unacceptable and have removed it from the site.

We extend our sincerest apologies to both SEGA and our readers for the mistake and confusion. Look for an updated and more accurate relation of IGN's view of WWSM '09 sometime in the near future.

Sometimes you have a person reviewing a game that's just not for them. Decided to read that RPS article and I could definitely see myself getting into a similar mindset. Usually, that's when I uninstall. Though I like games that leave it to the player to figure out where to go and how go there, situations where I start thinking "how was I supposed to know that?" really take me out of it -- latest offender: Broken Sword. So at least that part of the review I can sympathize with. Whether that's the reviewer simply not "reading" the level design, I don't know.

Oh my GORD!

Give me an updated "King's Bounty II - Darkside" and i'll be happy forever!

Just checked out their webpage, and they are selling three different versions of the game. Exclusive items, units, "premium packs," a quest line, a preview build, and 3 day early access.

Not sure about the serious tone, liked the light hearted humoristic (yet of epic consequences later on) style of the "original" (reboot).

Still if it makes it feel fresh again and has equally diverse quest lines, locations with their own aesthetic and musical style and units I'm set.

That "original" had great trailers btw, loved their style and got hyped for the game back then. Can't find them now, only some OK ones.

As a game it's way more my thing, basically like a WJRPG of sorts, rather than the strategy game with RPG coating that is the Heroes series it resembles.

They are pretty good! Though looks like you are not playing at native resolution or am I wrong? And are you playing Dishonored for the first time?

Also, I finally back home from vacations! I see I missed quite a bit of a news, so yeah, new videos are coming.

this RPS article about Ion Fury is embarassing.

no wonder all the big budget fps games suck. :pensive-face:

Yeah, that review is certainly something alright and as someone who grew up with these games, and really values a sense exploration, it's rather depressing :pensive-face:.

It's not that I don't agree, I haven't played the game, and I realise not everyone will share my preferences. It's more that I can't see this article (I imagine the RPS team would suggest in response to criticism that it's not a review, it's a "Wot I Think" :shrugblob:) being helpful for anyone.

If you've played 90's FPS's it doesn't help you decide if this is a good example of the genre and you'll already know your own tolerance for a lack of hand-holding, so a protracted moan about the existential horror of sprawling levels and the lack of an objective marker is unlikely to be informative. If you've never played anything similar you're unlikely to know whether this kind of design works for you, and the take home message of "I’d rather not be lost" is unlikely to help you decide unless you very specifically avoid games where you're not obviously funnelled from one objective to the next.

It's like asking my parents, who feel TVs should be tucked into the corner of a room and max out at 24" to review an 88" 8k OLED. Ten paragraphs of "Much too big, takes up the whole wall, wouldn't give it house room" would be of no use to anyone.

Both Eurogamer & Dominic Tarason (RPS former news person, I think) have perhaps a more informative take

I just updated, and no problems with 428 either on my main desktop or on Win 2, so...
And given the severity of the 0-day the update patched... I'd still do it.
Didn't know about that 0-day, so I updated again. Unsurprisingly enough, I ran into the same issues again.
They fixed themselves after reinstalling the graphics card driver though :disapproval-blob:
Crisis averted

Steam market is superslow. Been like that since last night.
Sorry
The site is currently unavailable. Please try again later.

And now it died.

Sony stepping up their DS4 color game

Lame. Even the camouflage one is just their already known camouflage design in red. Meanwhile I can't wait until MS ships my fancy looking Gears 5 pad.

Speaking of stuff I can't stop buying because it's new and cool, move over Glorious PC Gaming Race Model O, welcome Razer Viper. At least until the Model O-. Never been a better time to be a mouse addict. The G-Wolves Skoll is tempting me too.

Got my Steam Link (box) all wired up, and I've gotta say I'm very impressed. After fiddling around with the settings and finding what works best in my setup, the image comes out very clean and smooth. Probably the best 20 euros I've spent in a long time. Even tried out a fast paced racing game and the bitrate keeps up really well.

The new Indivisible regional prices are better than before but still trash 1:1

I liked the Rose gold and the purple one

Purple is okay but the only ones I ever got excited for were Berry Blue and Sunset Orange. Alpine Green was alright too but in the end the 'special' DualShocks are just different colors which imo ís lazy in comparison to what others are doing. Like, at least put some motives/art on some of them (camo being the exception)?

if anyone has time to make a thread for The International 2019, that'd be nice to have a place to talk about the crazy games.

Weird, it looks kinda blurry for me, I don't remember it was like that back then when I played it in 1080p too. I need to replay this game eventually, it's still one of my favorite, one of the rare games that made two full walkthroughs right away.
I disabled fxaa and am using ssgss x4
Will souble check to make sure it is disabled
Otherwise this might be steam compression?

They need to wake me up when they make a dualshock 4 that doesn't have something on it break within 6 months of decent use.

I had one that broke because my sister kept dropping it, But the 2nd one ive had is still going strong after 5 years.
