What does this mean for me?
You will begin to see new branding for our games, replacing the Perfect World Entertainment logo with the Gearbox Publishing one. Additionally, our email addresses will change so expect to receive newsletters and support tickets from new @GearboxSF.com accounts. Your favorite games should still be playable as usual.

Several private equity firms including Blackstone Inc. and KKR & Co. have been studying the French business, according to the people, who asked not to be identified because the information is private. Ubisoft hasn’t entered into any serious negotiations with potential acquirers, and it’s unclear whether its major shareholder is willing to pursue a deal, the people said.

In a huge step for equality in the workplace (both within the games industry and beyond), GOG recently announced that it's started offering menstrual leave to its employees. This means that "whenever period pains occur," affected employees can take as much time as needed off work to recover.
That's actually pretty cool thing to do.

So 259 reviews x 77 = around 20k.

Watched leaked footage of that new Project Q game from Ubisoft. Rolled my eyes so hard. They are not even hiding anymore that they are chasing Fortnite.

Microsoft is the only one that makes sense.

Buying Ubi immediately gives you like 100 games to put in the console/PC gamepass catalog.

You also get a lot of ip power and employees. Its worth whatever the cost but with them doing the Activision deal they probably won't until later next year.

It may be too late by then but again I don't see anyone else outside of Microsoft truly making use of what Ubi brings to the table.

Hmm, yeah, outside of Microsoft I don't see anyone being able to acquire them, but I don't think Microsoft will actually go for it. It's one thing to buy Activision, that will already ruffle some feathers with market regulators. The deal will realistically still go through, but if Microsoft then goes for one the remaining few big publishers, yeah, that won't fly or at least face heavy resistance. Would be far more sensible for MS to spend that money on a dozen smaller companies instead

Hey, what's the newest game in everyone's library that still has one of these?

This is mine - Life is Strange: Before the Storm, from 2017

Distant Worlds 2 - 106 pgs.
(3/22/22)

Shadow Empire - 369 pgs. (!!!)
(12/3/20)

The most baffling thing about Shadow is that the entire production comes from just one guy. Victor Reijkersz is the 'VR' in VR Designs studio.

Not only is Shadow Empires one of the most complex hex-wargame strategy titles I've ever played (only "out-complexed" by the Gary Grigsby titles), but somehow this fool found time to write up a 350+ game manual (inc. a couple dozen pgs. of game lore) to go along with it!

WTH, man? If I can only get out of bed and get to work on time, I consider it a Job Well Done. Where do these people find the spark & focus?

Witness the horror for yourself.

No word of a lie, I saw Babymetal live and expected nothing, but was one of the best gigs I’ve ever been to. The spectacle was incredible
So happy to hear that you enjoyed it. Babymetal lives are still some of the best memories in my life. :blobevening: I got lucky and managed to go to this particular show from the video. Haven't been to their show since then.

I seen them in Glasgow on the metal galaxy tour, which was the month before COVID fucked everything, so was really lucky to see them in hindsight as it must have been one of their last gigs

While we are at music other day when i was going home from work and listening what i almost always listen (80s rock music) song came and literally as it was going i had one of those moments where i could literally se in my mind in real time how that song is used for video game intro, together with transiton to gameplay. In my mind it was perfect XD Song was

Intro was for open world game set in late 80s where camera is going around showing city and NPCs aka leaving breathing world, and as guitar and synth solos hit camera lowers down to street level, transitions to the car where driver is jamming and then you hear side door open, music fades to volume level heard by other people around you when you are wearing headphones, voice says go and you transition to gameplay and police car chase.

It is basically Baby Driver se in 80s XD
