If the remasters are based on the recent live action remakes, I am in. I hope they get good voice impersonators.
at least now we know why they got pulled ...
Aren't XBPC games going Win32 from now on/will have a WIn32 version available? I was under the impression that was going to be across the board and not just one gameI'm not really interested in supporting console-like locked down games on pc. That was the major reason why I've always refused to use the Windows Store.

It's quite addictive. My first Fire Emblem, actually.Finished FE: Three Houses, been a while since I enjoyed a game this much, I think this'll be my GOTY.
I think I know what you're talking about, happened the same to me, and I KNEW that it would happen but I was focused on talking to everyone and kinda did it by accident. One thing I hate is that it pulled me into a choice that forcibly ends my exploration (losing valuable activity points in the process!) at one point. Had to reload a 30 minute old save due to that.

Is there really that much of a difference between files being locked by your OS and files being encrypted by the creators?Yeah, from now on Microsofts sells locked down win32 games. That's not exactly what I was looking for.
Release:
Thanks for the detailed answer! Football Manager 2008 was the last one I played seriously, while I only played 2009 for maybe two months after release so your experience is actually kind of relatable for me. It also doesn't surprise me that you found FM2019 pretty overwhelming compared to FM2008, since that series always was very complex. That's why I fell in love with it back in the day as a bored teenager with tons of time to kill, so it stands to reason that a decade long jump would mean a much different and bigger experience. I started getting an itch to dive back into Football Manager for a few years now, but I've always felt that I'm way too busy nowadays to fit a game like that into my schedule. The itch is getting a little stronger though this year, so maybe I'll try to get back into the series with FM2020. I suppose I can play it casually as a "side game", but I'm afraid I'll get sucked into that little abyss you are talking about![]()
I wonder how it will perform on Stadia. For the most hardcore people it might be interesting since the game can take ages if you decide to make a complete simulation (like, you select all countries to be simulated and this generates an insane database that is constantly loaded). Of course, you'd need to have a good internet and unlimited bandwidth since you will be spending a good chunk of your days on it, but being able to instant load a save with all leagues would probably be a massive pro for the folk invested in the game.Interesting. I guess a management game like Football manager should translate well enough on a streaming service for the two or three dozens of people with good enough internet to play it![]()
I'd pay an exorbitant amount of money to watch Minori-san interviewing Papa Tim.![]()
Four games? What are those?Decent regional pricing. Dunno if I'll pick right away since August 30 is just there and there's four games on my wishlist releasing that day, but I might end buying it instead of FF8R.
Within the Cosmos, Decay of Logos, Re:Legend and MicroTown.Four games? What are those?
YupIncluding the originals from both consoles is amazing. Day one just for that.
I must say, it feels good to buy an indie game at launch and get my money's worth (Dicey @ a fun 20 hrs). I would do this more often, but the lack of demos really hurt. It's hard to justify 20 bucks on a cool gif or trailer. This is the year of the demo for me. Dicey's Alpha, Neo Cab, and Supraland all left really positive impressions on me. I know it's not cheap to make, but you might as well throw it on Steam if you're making a PAX demo.
Imagine if Steam had an event running side by side with these conventions. You could have dev streams and playable demos like the Luda one from earlier in the year. Easy money.
Almost every place now that sells stuff for Ubisoft does it by Ubisoft Connect anyways requiring the connecting of your ubi account after purchase to actually get the gameSo~ I take Ubi wont sell keys on third party sites? I want Breakpoint dammit.
I would use the Ubistore but the piece of shit doesnt support paypal on my country.Almost every place now that sells stuff for Ubisoft does it by Ubisoft Connect anyways requiring the connecting of your ubi account after purchase to actually get the game
Also still to be seen whats up with breakpoint for who has it available
heh so waiting continuesGreat, my first impression with Bard's Tale IV is getting stuck in a character creation.
Combined with the HUGE list of known issues, I'm so refunding this shit.
Yes, two types of content. There even is console timed exclusive content ? Wow
The hunger, it is real.
Finished FE: Three Houses, been a while since I enjoyed a game this much, I think this'll be my GOTY.
1/ Can't you make a little space for some gaming in the limited free time you have ?I wanna play it so bad myself. ... Still waiting on Switch Lite reviews though, I'm hoping by the Holiday season it will have been in the hands of consumers long enough to determine whether the built-in Joycons will experience troubles or not...?
It's been heck trying to avoid spoilers wherever I go but so far so good!

But well that said, I'm so depressed lately since I just can't seem to find the time for traditional games.Even on my days off, I seem to spend them catching up on all the things I missed during the work week. I feel like I'll never beat my backlog honestly. ... don't think I've beaten a single game since April.
It's making me anti-social again too. I don't post on here or Era as often as I used to and that makes me feel bad as well. I feel like I'm gonna disconnect from everyone and I don't wanna be like that, but the common thread here (and there) is Video Games, and I literally have nothing to say about them lately. I haven't even been following the news on them. orz

daxy maybe Return of the Obra Dinn? It isn't the same kind of exploring and wonder as The Witness and Fez but it did scratch that itch slightly.
another exclusivity timing confirmed (was announced at TGA as Epixclusive)

A question to people using Gog 2.0: can you also launch games from it? What about accessing things like screenshots or Steam (and other) community forums.

Thanks! But don't stress yourself, it's not that badI tried some more games I had installed and it looks like most are working just fine, but A Hat in Time is also giving me problems. I found a thread on the Steam forums where people experience the same problem (and can "fix" it by uninstalling the Windows Update as well).
I'm on Win 10 1903 build 18362.295
I'm on the newest Nvidia Driver (436.02) as well now (was 1 version behind when this happened, but nothing changed).
As for how to reproduce it... well, there's nothing special really. I installed the August 13th update and that was it. I start Danganronpa and get a white screen. Nothing happens and I need to close it with the Task Manager.
A Hat in Time instantly crashes after the UE4 logo.
Here's the relevant part in the A Hat in Time log:

1/ Can't you make a little space for some gaming in the limited free time you have ?
2/ Beating your backlog is a fool's errand anyway, enjoy games how you want and not how you arbitrarily should.
3/ Take it easy, we love you the way you are.
Where 1 is the least important and 3 the most.
There's no such thing as beating your backlog.
Don't worry tho, we all like you here (I sure do) and you're always welcome back even if you go missing for while.

Luckily we're a small community and someone will remember you even after a period of absence. It's alright to be away from gaming for a while, but you simply have to keep yourself busy. I know how hard it is to be active when you're depressed, but I find going for a run after work or doing light exercise works wonders. At least for me, sitting around doing absolutely nothing didn't help me get my motivation back.
Anyway, hope you'll find your groove back soon, we'll keep the light on for ya!

Ah, I posted it a few posts under the one you quoted, I think. The issue was RTSS (I updated to a newer version and it worked again, but then no longer, so I just keep it closed now for those games).Hum. So, I can't replicate any of the Dx9 issues on my PC lol. Same exact version and build of Windows 10 as you, but my Nvidia driver is 430.86...
Everything works as intended, no white screens, no crashes.
My relevant hardware.
CPU: Intel 8700k
GPU: GTX 1080ti
RAM: 32 GB of Corsair DDR4 3600 mhz
I guess it's too late now since you beat it anyway, but I wonder, did you try uninstalling Danganronpa and then reinistalling it? Cuz then Steam would redo the dx9 initialization thingy it always does when you first launch a game. That's the only other thing I can think of, since it's true I had DR installed but never launched it before now...
I guess I could keep trying tomorrow with some more DX9 games. ... but honestly I've always been one of the lucky ones. To date the only time Windows 10 messed with me is when FF Type-0 became unplayable after an update. (Thankfully Square-Enix patched it, but it took months!)
Ah, I posted it a few posts under the one you quoted, I think. The issue was RTSS (I updated to a newer version and it worked again, but then no longer, so I just keep it closed now for those games).
And yeah, I did try reinstalling as well
Thanks though![]()
The Epic Games Store has been at the centre of some of the most prominent gaming controversies this year, especially in the PC gaming space, what with its aggressive poaching of exclusivity for major titles. And while it’s something that has brought about the displeasure of the masses, the stance that Epic Games themselves have taken from the very beginning is an interesting one.
While Steam – the leading storefront on PC – charges a 30 per cent revenue from all games hosted on its platforms, the Epic Games Store charges only 12 per cent, allowing publishers using the storefront to make more money off their games and – theoretically – invest that money to develop even better content. It’s something that Epic Games has banked on hard, and even though it’s an industry standard – Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony, Apple, and many others charge the sae 70/30 split as Steam – there are many who stand with Epic’s digital store for this reason.
For instance, there’s Chris Early, Ubisoft’s vice president for partnerships and revenue. Recently, while speaking with the New York Times, Early said that Steam’s business model has become “unrealistic” in the current market, suggesting that Valve needs to bring about a change.
“It’s unrealistic, the current business model that they have,” said Early. “It doesn’t reflect where the world is today in terms of game distribution.”
Ubisoft has been one of the most high profile supporters of the Epic Games Store. Earlier this year, they confirmed that barring their own Uplay, The Division 2 would only be available for PC via the Epic Games Store, before going on to confirm that this exclusivity arrangement would continue with other future titles as well. Later this year, Ghost Recon Breakpoint will also be exclusive to the Epic Games Store and Uplay.
