My post was more targeted towards wanting to switch the AMD hardware, as it just seems to play nicer with Linux than Nvidia (however, it remains to be seen if the drivers indeed will get better in the near future). Ive had some troubles with games that dont like Nvidia on Linux, but play fine on Steam Deck, and that led to a wish to build an AMD-based Linux gaming PC in the future.

Ive indeed posted about Bazzite not too long ago in the Linux thread; I didnt check it out yet however (Ive been a Manjaro user since 2021 or so).
Ah ok. I've been on Nvidia myself for a while now without major issues, though admittedly if I hadn't switched to using a single 4K OLED display, I'd have found the lack of VRR for multi-display a serious issue. I'm still on X11 for now, but I hear the recent explicit sync updates have made for a good experience on Wayland.

I'm not sure if that version could still be used.
It can still be used. However, if the game you want to emulate requires firmware version 18.0, you will need to dump the keys from your console using the latest available version of Lockpick RCM. Place the keys in your yuzu user directory.

To dump your game, make sure your dumped prod.keys is in /switch/ directory in your sdcard and just use NXDumpTool as usual.

If you don't have access to CFW'd switch or rather to download the ROMs instead, well … I can't really help you there. :flare_lmao:

… until you DM me on Discord, and I'll try to point you in the right direction. :flare_smirk:

I guess it's time to look for the Meta discord then.

Due to their own stupidity Sony won't get any money from me this year and I was looking to buy 3 of their releases (GoT, GoW:R and Until Dawn). Oh well money saved for those devs/publishers who are not allergic to my money.

There's a discord?

Is it fight club rules like the Deadlock playtest? Can I write an article about it?

New personal record for me in Deadlock. Someone with a European accent called me retarded on voice chat in the first match I played. Not even sure what I was doing wrong to elicit that reaction.

First match :steam_pig_crylaughing:
Report them. They ban people for toxicity in Deadlock.

Damn

So the next 2-3 months we are looking at...

Black Myth: WuKong
Ragnarok
RDR1
FFXVI
Metaphor
The Veilguard
DQ3 Remake

Though money is obviously an issue (hell, I can barely afford anything), I've been thinking a lot about the time I have to play all the games I'm interested in. The Steam Deck has helped immensely but even if no more games were to be announced from now on, I don't think I'll live long enough to play everything.
I play mostly RPGS which doesn't help.

I've played 10 hours and haven't came across a single rager or flamer yet. Considering I played thousands of hours of Dota, I'm very surprised. I assumed everyone has accepted they suck and aren't bothering getting mad. At the same time I know it won't last as more people get access to the game and an established meta forms.

My vote for greatest Steam review of all time :blobyes:

Aussie Guy played Webbed and it reminded him when he befriended a Brown Jumping Spider.

Random post ahead.

In recent years, I have seen an increasing number of people on the Internet talk about choice paralysis, or argue about backlog / library definition. (Guilty, I am one of those people). I think it is obvious that, we are not going to make it. There are so many games on different platforms and we have no chance to finish or even play all of those we interested in. As a result, many people are advocating that, for the sake of our time, we need to be efficient, be picky and have zero tolerance to mediocracy.

I think about my backlog a lot, and I wrote about it regularly here. Sometimes I felt stress when Iooking at the library (rookie number though) and the upcoming release schedule. How the fuck can I play all these games?

It took me months to realise this. It is impossible. This acceptance to reality honestly makes my heart lighter. I feel happier when looking through my library, knowing that there are so many games within reach. Meanwhile, I disagree with those people who say that we need to be efficient be picky blah blah blah... so that we can get to the next great thing. Nah, fuck the mentality. What's the fun in doing so? Most people on this forum are adults (and very European :face-savouring-delicious-food: ). We think about paying the bills next month and putting food onto the table. Gaming is part of our life, even as a hobby, it is a great way to catch a breath. Gaming is FUN, and it is wrong to turn gaming into a task to go through or even a second job to manage.

Now I just play whatever the hell I want. Every game is an once in a lifetime experience. Treasure and savor the moment. Do drop games when they are not fun though. To me, that's the way to go.

All I see on Reddit these days is people asking stuff like "What game should I play next?" or "I'm about to play game x, what should I know?"
Are people these days incapable of making a fucking decision on their own or just starting a game and discovering stuff on their own without a fucking pep talk? Jesus Christ. Pick a game that interests you and just fucking play it.

Umberto Eco used to speak in favor of hoarding books, and I think this concept can be applied to videogames as well:

"It is foolish to think that you have to read all the books you buy, as it is foolish to criticize those who buy more books than they will ever be able to read. It would be like saying that you should use all the cutlery or glasses or screwdrivers or drill bits you bought before buying new ones.

There are things in life that we need to always have plenty of supplies, even if we will only use a small portion. If, for example, we consider books as medicine, we understand that it is good to have many at home rather than a few: when you want to feel better, then you go to the 'medicine closet' and choose a book. Not a random one, but the right book for that moment.

That's why you should always have a nutrition choice! Those who buy only one book, read only that one and then get rid of it. They simply apply the consumer mentality to books, that is, they consider them a consumer product, a good. Those who love books know that a book is anything but a commodity."

Worst thing is the reward for doing that shit is just an exp item.

And you won't be able to fully complete it until late game anyways which by then the exp items isn't fucking helpful unless you are trying to get cheevos in the game. But cheevos didn't exist back then when it came out so its such bad game design. Worthless on the hard difficulty and pointless on the easy.

With all that said I did enjoy the page with all the fun little platforming treasure hunts. That was good :p

I mentioned it elsewhere but everything looks way too clean and shiney in the trailer for veilguard it's really annoying

In Origins it looked like you murdered a strawberry patched after a fight with pretty much anything

When they ran through the rain or mud or anything they didnt get wet at all same with when they stabbed stuff and blood gushed out

It could have been just because it was a trailer or cutscene type situation and not a true "ingame" thing but still I was sort of expecting more...? I don't know how to explain it that well

The game looks good visually but it doesn't like look like anything "special" in this day and age of things that are coming out, and little things all kind of add up in the end

One other thing thats going to just be a random guess I'm pulling out of my ass is it looks like none of the companions change their appearance in any of the cutscene shit so they what look the same the entire game besides maybe their weapon? Cool I guess lol

DA2 was fun because people would be all smeared with blood and talking casually

Regardless of how veilguard turns out I'll probably still play it, as long as I find something to latch onto to have fun I'm sure it'll be an ok romp at the end of the day, my biggest issue with the game is no blood magic apparenttly, but eh.... we'll see if they ever add that with a patch, dlc or maybe people will do through mods.

PoP The Lost Crown truly is amazing game. It is basically best thing Ubisoft made in like past 10 years. And it runs maxed out and 1080p on Deck at 60FPS no issues. It looks and plays amazing. As I said it doesn't feel like PoP game and story and music are mid but everything else is top notch. I am enjoying playing every moment of it.

I really hope that Plucky Squire will work great on Deck too.

It doesn't bother me. Just thought it was kind of funny that it happened in my very first match. Sort of like a Simon & Garfunkel "Hello Dota My Old Friend" moment.

Sir, this gif has a very different connotation from how you are using it here ;)

I'm having trouble getting into PoP. I don't usually play Metroidvania games but this is Prince of Persia so I had to give it a go. It's a well made game but I'm just getting lost on what I'm supposed to do most of the time. I'm not very far in and to be vague/spoiler free, I've reached the part where you get your first new weapon and the upgrade for that weapon but I'm always having trouble figuring out where I'm meant to go. There are so many paths at any given time and I just don't know which ones to follow. I understand this is basic Metroidvania design of having places you can't go to until later in the game but I'm not sure I see where the fun is in endlessly running into dead ends? There's an ingame system to embed screenshots in the map to remind you of important places you want to revisit and it seems like a QOL feature but to me it feels like they're trying to solve a problem they created. There's a golden sparkling trail that is supposed to lead you in the right direction but even that is misleading as it can take you in the wrong direction and then point you to a place you can't go to because presumably you lack the correct upgrades. Also for a game that has a bonfire system where enemies respawn every time you rest, fast travel is a must. I believe this game has fast travel because I've seen one fast travel point so far but no idea how to use it. Assuming it's something that unlocks later.

So yeah, someone help me understand how you're supposed to go about it. Just follow every path and find secrets and dead ends until you stumble upon the correct one? There has to be a better way.

You can adjust exploration difficulty so it shows you where to go if I remember correctly (I play with all guides turned off). And there is no right way to play it just like any other game. You just need to find what works for you. I love to explore so I basically go I to every corner of the map no matter what. And from what I noticed game tells you where to go (East, West for example). Also you can ask that girl near the vendor for hints where to go and buy maps from her in other parts of the map.

Thank you for posting it. That was a great read. Videogame is definitely a "medicine" to me. Pretty sure that I would have been driven crazy by life if there's no videogame. :cat-heart-blob:
