Anyone remembers the name of the isometric ARPG, slightly metroidvania game released a year or two ago? The MC is a brown anime girl with silver hair, I think.
This is annoying me a lot to not remember what it was...

I put your same post in copilot and it answered me that the game is "Oninaki", is that it?

That's not it :confounded-face:
It was a pixel art vaguely anime game, I played the demo, it was a bit Zelda ish in gameplay, I think you played a robot that could upgrade itself with chips that you'd find in the world....

Regarding the discussion being held elsewhere about the overlap of PC and console players, I think it’s a bit misguided when people on enthusiast forums say stuff like ‘if x was on PC, I wouldn’t own a PS5’ as an argument for keeping staggered releases.

Like yeah, enthusiast might do. But there’s plenty of people who can afford a PC but can’t be arsed to fuck with builds, drivers, etc.

I also think that Sony fans tend to overestimate how much people want their games enough to buy a console.

And, I truly believe that the PS5 being so scarce, with the pandemic going on, helped to make it a more desirable product.

I think a lot of people just consider PS5 as the default system that usually has most if not all the games they want to play. PC isn’t even in the equation.

Yeah I was about to answer that, completed it not too long ago.
Really good game overall, though I feel like combining Metroidvania aspects with a global time limit isn't the best design decision.

Watching some PC ass streamer these days, so big city builders, management, simulation mood. This fucking guy will make me play Soviet Republic if he doesn't stop gushing about it. I'm scared, though :anguished-face:

Well, anyway, all that to say they fucking made me install Frostpunk. I loathe the whole misery porn of it, but it SO well regarded.
I was weak and did get it 2 weeks ago.
Playing along with the youtuber on realismus / very hard.
It is quite a ride. But very satisfying.

I finished played Spec Ops The Line and it would have been better going in completely blind type of thing.

I didn't know much about the game but I didn't sort of understand about the whole bad guy thing before playing the game.

It was an experience that's for sure. The gameplay could have been better, I was fighting with the controls at times. The cover system in this game sucks you would snap to things you had no intention of going to.

Interesting how the game does have you choices, that seems to be more than what BioShock does.

Also sucks how the game was delisted for songs that you hardly hear in the game at all.

Infinite Wealth is so good. They're gonna have a hard time topping this one.
And it is FUNNY. I have laughed several times in my playing thus far. Due to intentional jokes and the silly situations. The game is a comedy sometimes and a great one at that. Under represented genre IMO

EDIT: It's also a better Pokemon game than Palworld. Since it actually has real pokemon battling and systems, lol.

As much as i enjoy story and atmosphere in CP2077/Phantom Liberty even with 2.0 revamp game has fundamental issues. Game is designed for you to go and shoot people, hacking and stealth are kinda secondary. That is obvious from level design and gameplay. Also i love how atmospheric and good looking Night City is but it is underused. All of that verticality is basically wasted. And as much as this is strange to hear they really should take a notes from Watch_Dogs 2 regarding Netrunner build. That is how i am imagining Netrunner.
Nah.

I'm not even gonna bother to tell you why you're wrong when there are a million and a half Youtube videos that will you show you amazing Hacking/Stealth builds. I myself played a hacking/blades only Ninja and had a blast.

Nobody should be copying anything from Ubisoft unless you want bloat and time wasting.

Finally started CP2077 Phantom Liberty, haven't touched the game since the week of the game's launch when I finished the game. Performance is at the very least much better.

Even for those of us who used to play more on console some may be like me where a lot of that wasn't on first party releases anyway. I have no desire for a PS5 despite owning PS1-4 but that has nothing to do with Sony games on PC, it's because I finally don't need one to play those games that were only exclusive more by default rather than having any input from Sony. I don't need a Playstation to play Yakuza anymore, I don't need it to play fighting games, Japanese RPGs, whatever it is in the vast majority of cases they are no longer console exclusive.

There nothing any first party could do to bring me back at this point, it's just not worth it anymore for just a few games. So if they want to sell to people like me they have to be where I am. Not even Bloodborne 2 would convince me to buy a PS5 now.

Absolutely adoring Persona 3 Reload, having played it all week while I’ve been off work. I think the lack of FeMC is sad, but on balance this is the closest we’ll get to a definitive version of Persona 3.

They ruined too much of the Soundtrack for that

Seems to be a common issue with remakes, somehow

I think the only track that’s worse is Mass Destruction. The rest are improved, and the new songs are awesome.

Do you guys play Infinite Wealth with japanese or english voiceover?
Yakuza is one of those rare cases where I always play with japanese voices. I can't even fathom playing it in English. Kiryu's voice is absolutely legendary and a huge part of why I love the character so much.
And Ichiban's VA delivered one of the best performances I've heard in a game in Like a Dragon.
The game is just so intrinsically japanese, it just makes sense. I did the same with Ghost of Tsushima.
I play Persona in English though. I really liked the actors in P3 and haven't looked back since. Unlike Yakuza it doesn't feel like a game that absolutely has to be rooted in Japanese culture, you spend a lot of time dungeon crawling in supernatural environments and the school setting is pretty much universal and not intrinsically linked to the japanese setting. Might be weird but that's my take.

I agree that the OST is a downgrade but imo it's still the best version of P3.

I'll play other games with JP VA but with Persona I just still to English VA since it's good enough.

Talking about languages.
Not sure if this will be on PC too, but it's pretty sad japanese voices in Stellar Blade will only be available in Japan (at least at release date). Korean will be available everywhere.
As I said, I'm not sure if this will happen on PC but it's confirmed on PS version.
People play your games in your favorite language or the one you enjoy the most. I think I will play SB in korean since I will get the european version on my main account but japanese language voices overseas would be cool too,

Japanese, English sounds too strange for that setting IMO
The more I read/watch about Helldivers 2, the more I'm considering buying it. I'm just not sure it's fun to play with randoms. Anyone here has experience with this?
I haven’t played with randoms but I would hold a week or two. I haven’t been able to complete a game becuase it crashes frequently.

Helldivers 2 has sold 1 million copies. 50:50 split between Steam and PS5 so 500k on PC.
Looks like releasing on both PS and PC have helped this game out.

RIP foamstars, I'm not sure if it's a good game or not, but it's been sent out to die basically.

One of the reasons why Epic games has acquired some games is because they release on both PS and PC at the same time and that has helped those games do very well. There are third party indie games that have released on PS that have done well, sell at most close to 2 million units. Meanwhile you have Helldiver's 2 that has only been out for a few days and has already reached 1 millions units way quicker than those other games. (Examples of the PS only games would be stuff like Sifu)

Destruction All Stars died a quick death it seems.

Speaking of languages, one of the things that I do find funny is anime. We are now seeing an increase in Korean Webtoons getting anime (yes I'm calling it that) adaptions and they don't seem to have Korean language as an option. The only one that I can think of that do have it are the ones on Netflix like Lookism. The Crunchyroll ones don't seem to have a Korean option, or at least not at the time of initial release.

In the case of this game it will likely get added in later (maybe it's a licensing issue?) Since it's a Sony published game and if you look the Steam page for some of Sony games, you only get the JP VA if you buy them from Steam in Japan.

While KPOP has gotten very popular over the years, I'm curious if people have gotten use to what Korean sounds like. Say as an example, if the story took place in Korea, but you did have the option of choosing either JP or English VA, would people be as willing to listen to Korean VA? Especially if they are not used to it?

I'm a kdrama/korean movie fan xDD, one of my favorite "recent" shows is Start-Up and really enjoyed Happiness I've been watching 2 or so korean shows /month for years, I've no problem with that, in Spain, where I'm from, younger people are more interested in South Korea than Japan these days, like you said thanks to webtoons and kpop unlike my generation who were more interested in Japan thanks to the expansion of anime, but I'm too used to watch anime and play videogames in japanese. I'm curious how will be to play this game in korean but I've would have preferred get the japanese audio, seems the other 8? languages will be available everywhere is just the japanese audio is Japan only, that's pretty sad.

Is there no way to mod in the original Mass Destruction ?
It’s a UE4 game, so probably.

Not bothered to look into it as the song doesn’t play very often. Between the advantage and ambush mechanics, the times you hear it is basically on some Monad Door enemies.

And while the song is a downgrade, it’s still a fine version. No complaints.

It's been years since I watched them, but I remember watching Heirs and that did a really job in general of showing you all the typical stuff that you can expect in K-dramas.

While I never got to finish it, the K-Drama that I liked the most was Pinocchio. I do like how in that one the rich mom of one of the love interest doesn't hate the heroine and is actually supportive of her relationship with her son. Compared to the whole, here you watch money and then splashing a beverage in the heroines face.

I'm still surprised that they made an idolm@ster K-Drama, but at the same did it did make sense. But instead of it being a mix of girls under 18 and over 18 the K-Drama was just girls over 18 (or I guess 19 because of the way that age is counted in Korea)

I will play it in english since I played Y7 in english. It was a fantastic dub and only got weird when old characters showed up because naturally we're used to hearing them in japanese but the newer characters were done extremely well.

The downside is having to listen to yongyea, but if that's all I have to do I will survive.

Playing persona 3 for the first time in >10 years gives me a whole whiplash as to how unwordy it is.
No characters telling you the same shit every day, not everything being mentioned 3+ times.

Actual word economy, creating actually good pacing.

I hope they learn something from that for Persona 6
