I dont understand why GaaS PVP games do sequels. It never ends well.
I would assume part of it is due to technical debt. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Smite 1 were using ancient game engines and it was probably harder to create new content. Sequels usually drop the ball due to other reasons (i.e. Overwatch 2 completely changing its business model and Counter-Strike 2 removing content and it still missing months later).

As Smite 2 is a brand new game and not simply an engine upgrade, it's going to have the issue of competing with itself and trying to convince long time users to drop all the stuff they accumulated over the years and move over to a new game.

Is the Steam friends/comunity down? Im disconnected, but still getting cheevos and stuff.

No Granblu Fantasy Relink demo for PC just for PlayStation.
This kind of stuff AND the timed demos during the Steam Next Fest are stuff that straight up shouldn't exist.

Funnily enough, these same companies are fine with Nintendo Switch demos, despite those also being fairly easy to dump and datamine. So either they have something to hide (technical issues), or they just want to generate FOMO.

Timed/exclusive demos are the dumbest shit in gaming

They literally affect your sales you absolute clowns

Apparently issue is that they can't give some bonuses to Demo players on steam. Or something like that. Someone on Era mentioned that devs said that on previous streams.

Why the fuck no one @me on this news? NEW SAKURA WARS GAME?
Speaking to sources, it’s understood that Panzer Dragoon, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Sakura Taisen will all have new games and are all in their early stages of development, too. Unfortunately, though, Insider Gaming wasn’t able to verify the other two games that were greenlit, but recent trademark filings could give a strong indication.

No, they wanted to include some bonuses for players who play it but they can't do it on Steam.

I believe the Monster Hunter Rise demo gave you bonuses for the full game on Steam. Was there any more details why they couldn't do this for Relink?

It's a rather casual experience with no dead-ends or overly difficult puzzles.

Currently "Day1,2 and 3" are available - about five hours of gameplay. The following day(s) will be released if people show interest in the project.

The age of grift AI games begins. "Here's some prutty AI images, we'll finish the game if we trick enough people."

This reminds me of how on consoles the SRW30 demo gave you some bonuses for the full game. Steam didn't get the demo so the devs simply made those bonuses automatic for Steam users. Relink could do the same

Played two hours of AstLibra. So far it’s fantastic and exactly what the doctor ordered, a lovely indie ARPG, reminiscent of the good YS episodes or the older side scrolling Falcom games.
A ton of mechanics, blade moves, shield moves, combat magic, traversal magic, skill progression, item synthesis,
The story feels awfully bland but it manages to stay intriguing.

Only downside I can think of is that the character is stiff as hell. And, after playing several rdein games in succession, I LAMENT the lack of dodge. My brain. My muscle memory. I keeps using B in combat. The game keeps not doing anything. I insist.

Most annoying thing about PC is cleaning damn keyboard.
Another reason I liked my Microsoft Multimedia Keyboard, it was easy to disassemble, clean top and bottom plastic and keys under the faucet and reassemble.

The one I replaced it with has not yet been cleaned, my next one I'll definitely try to get one that seems washable, possibly without key gaps, laptop style, Idfc!

Without looking too much into it, I wouldn't be surprised if the "bonus" that you guys are talking about for GBF is for the mobile game.

Hey play the PS demo if you do, you will get something for the mobile game. Since the mobile game is the key selling factor for some stuff.

The same thing happened with the first GBF fighting game, there was something that was left out on PC since you wouldn't be able to get the bonus for the mobile game. (You got a "key" and that "key", could be redeemed inside of the mobile game

Supposedly the fear is that people will generate multiple keys, on PS you can only redeem 1 code per copy of the game and with the way Steam works you would in theory be able to generate multiple keys??? Or something like that

At least one porn game has sold a million copies on Steam before Valve pushed out being able to hide purchases and games.

Valve is going to make bank once people are aware of the ability to hide games.

Some may disagree with me, but

I have no problem with there being porn games on Steam as long as 1) no minors/underage/kids involved 2) it's easy to block/ignore/hide them if you don't wanna see them

if someone wants to play porn games, do it. Im not gonna play them, but I will also not stop others from playing them

I think my main problem with porn games is the fact that they sit side-by-side with non-porn games in the store on a device that is in my living room.

While filters get most of them, the odd one slips through and all of a sudden you’re browsing your discovery queue and a massive pair of tits appears on your TV.

I really think porn games should have a completely separate Steam store. Use the same client, and even the same account, but just sell them on separate stores.

I think this’ll improve discovery of both porn and non-porn games, and horny people can browse their porn games in private when they want to.

I certainly don’t think it’s appropriate to rely on filters to keep that stuff away from kids and people browsing the store in a living room or whatever.

This is pretty much my stance too. Zero interest in them whatsoever but let others do what they do.

Turning off adult/mature content is a pretty quick couple of clicks, and if Steam is the only place kids are going to see a pair of breasts, theyre living a charmed life in the year 2024.
Steam does need better search/sorting options across the board, I'll give you, but making a SteamAfterDark for adult games just further stigmatizes the games and continues the puritanical view of sex and nudity being shameful so present in NA society.

We just had this discussion not too long ago and the account settings where you uncheck the "primarily feature nudity" and "explicit" categories work mostly really well.

There's a problem however in the frontpage where friend recommendations seem to override that. Maybe something someone could report to Valve and maybe they'll fix it sometime this year.

The filters don’t always work, which is the crux of my argument.

And I don’t think it stigmatises it at all. It just acknowledges that not everyone wants to see giant titted CG women when they’re browsing the store.

Neither me or my girlfriend have a puritanical view of sex or view it as shameful. At the same time, we don’t want to see stuff that’s objectifying and overtly horny when we’re looking for stuff to buy. It’s happened a handful of times despite the fact that I’ve switched that stuff off in my settings.

Separating out adult content allows you to better enforce sensible parental controls and allows adults to browse and consume that content privately and safely.

It’s clear that privacy is important to consumers of adult content, judging by the fact that these privacy settings seem to be leading to more sales of porn games. I think allowing people greater levels of discretion is important and will lead to even more sales, rather than relying on a filter that works well most (but not all) of the time, and kind of feels like a compromise solution rather than a comprehensive one.
