Someone send help: I'm considering buying a Football Manager game. :grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes:
I haven't played one in the series since the times it was called Championship Manager (and, it wasn't even one of the later ones).

May I ask: what's the difference between FM 2020, and FM 2020 Touch (which is filled with DLCs)?
FM Touch is supposed to be a simplified version of the main game which removes some features (like media interactions and such) in order to focus on the trifecta of tactics, training and transfers. I would recommend getting the full version though since you can delegate anything you don't want to bother with anyway.

It's not really true though, even on paper.

(That's an extreme example and you can also go cheaper, though not mainstream prices obviously - for now)

Of course, there are also a lot of new SSDs in the ~200€ range which are almost exactly as fast as the one in PS5 (e.g. this one).
Come on Durante, you know how this works. Anything below a console's exact spec is garbage, anything above it is unnecessary.

Should I play Xcom 2 with or without War of the Chosen ? Is it that good ? Doesn't it add too much difficulty to the game (a little overwhelmed when I read new classes, new enemies etc...). I seem to recall it being seen as a must have.

Cool, I bought a key for war of the chosen but steam keep telling me it is on my wishlist (is not anymore). It's still listed in my DLC so I'm not too fussed, but I really have to stop buying keys.

Oh, and when I tried to restore my ipad to working order (I couldn't) I nuked my Steam Guard app.
Others have already replied but if you want a more detailed response, you should play with War II the Chosen straight away for several reasons. Performance is way better for one, the expansion has a lot of interesting content that improves the original campaign in meaningful ways and I found the expansion easier than the vanilla version because of all the extra features. Not to mention that the expansion adds more mission types that don't have those awful, horrible mission timers that dominated the vanilla game.

Despite owning Blaster Master Zero since launch, only recently did I finally play it (I was probably swamped with work when the game launched on Steam).
And, now that I finished it, I have to say it's been a while since I had such a great time with a game.
I finished it last night, and I spent most of my morning "listening" to the game's theme in my head. :grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes:
Yeah, that's how much of an impression it made. This is one heck of a game.

And, to think I have a new entry already available in my library, unplayed (that appears to be even bigger and better). 😱
I'm about to start Blaster Master Zero 2, and I've already been searching for news about a possible 3rd game. 😆

The classic Mega Man series is probably gone (at least, 8-bit sequels are gone). Castlevania sequels, at least "proper" (non-pachinko/mobile entries) are probably gone as well.
I hope INTI CREATES sticks with this series, so I can get my "game in (faux) 8-bit style" fix. 🙂

Really weird, MS showed actual games and everyone was like meh, but here’s a tech demo and everyone is excited. Excuse me but wtf
The way people keep downplaying stuff like Bright Memory Infinite was kinda odd, IMO. The IX showcase should have had longer trailers, but it opened with a literal gameplay trailer. That's how Bright Memory plays. To be honest, though, I've noticed that a lot of the really vocal Sony die-hard fans are disdainful of FPS games. The only games they're impressed by are "cinematic" third person titles with a strong focus on third person character animation.

And Bright Memory also has RTX trailers showing off the RTX features the game will have. (Xbox will reportedly support ray tracing for this game.).

Bright Memory Infinite isn't some tech demo. It's a real game coming out later this year. And you can play the Early Access demo version right now.

Console war nonsense doesn't have a whole lot of logic to it. Console gamers are often desperate for emotional justification to buy a new console. This is why Playstation fans have latched onto the idea of the SSD as being the next big thing in gaming. And it is the next big thing in gaming. But it's not some Sony secret sauce.

Microsoft were very clear that The Medium is an Xbox Series X/PC title. It is built around using an SSD to rapidly stream the two parallel worlds. Other games have done similar stuff including the very underrated Gemini: Heroes Reborn. But this appears to be highly detailed, and with open environments instead of the hallways used by GHR, Titanfall 2, Dishonored 2, etc.

Unreal Engine 5's tech improvements are obviously dope from a workflow perspective. But we won't see them in AAA productions until 2022 or later.

Somewhat excited to see Ghost of Tsushima today, but I don't think I will get the game day 1, but rather wait for a sale. I have no idea why Im far from as interested in GoT as I am in TLOU 2 which I have pre-ordered. Could change today, but right no my interest is on the lower-end.
GoT is interesting because as setting they chose the first Mongol invasion instead of other settings like the Edo period and in particular the Sengoku period.

Wasn't this supposed to be EGS exclusive for a year?
While working alongside our players, it became obvious that we are onto something truly special, but we should spend more time going deeper into gameplay mechanics that meet our community’s expectations. On top of that, development has been affected with everyone working from home during the global COVID-19 pandemic. Luckily, no one has taken ill thus far, and we’d very much like to keep it that way. Because of this, we made the difficult decision to push back the official launch of Surviving the Aftermath 1.0 to early 2021. The team at Paradox has been a pleasure to work with and they will continue to give us their full support making Surviving the Aftermath the best survival management game possible.

But there is good news! We are excited to share that Surviving the Aftermath will be available on Steam Early Access on October 22, 2020. We promised a Steam release in late 2020, so we are sticking to our word. Expanding Early Access support to Steam allows even more players to get involved during this phase of development where there’s still time for us to act on your feedback. We’ll also have more details on the PlayStation 4 launch as we get closer to release.

VirtuaVerse looks really sweet, I wanna read some impressions and reviews! :minos_love:
I've played it for a couple of hours and the thing that really hit me the most was how much love it transpires for the Lucas adventures of the olden days.
It's definitely a passion project (at least the programmer is not a professional game dev, and worked on the game pretty much every single second of his spare time for the last 4 years), and can have some ingenuity here and there, some excessive stubborness.
Some puzzles rely a lot on having a very nerdy, 80s/90s, background, that I just presume will be a bit too complicated for the general, younger public.

But on the other hand it plays well, it looks amazing, and has a great OST.
The themes are cool, intentionally corny at times, and it feels super nostalgic all the times.
Good stuff indeed!

Is Epic happy about it?
Dunno what the deal was to keep it egsclusive. But aren't they breaking the deal?
No they are not, they just opened the page and the deal was up for 12 months (although Paradox said while EA) but if conditions were just time and not status of the game, then they aren't breaking anything.

AM5, DDR5, PCIe5, 50GB/s SSD, RTX5000 will crush PS5 in 2022, right? :p

50GB/s SSD will either not happen or will be prohibitively expensive tho.
Generally speaking, any bandwidth issues in contemporary PC hardware will likely translate into RAM requirements. It isn't unusual for PC versions to have higher RAM requirements than their console equivalents, anyway. 24-32GB of RAM on PC will become normalized within a few years and devs will lean towards using larger RAM caches to alleviate stuttering issues.

First Darius Cozmic Collection was developed by M2 so it's probably not happening at all (and the second one will probably share the same fate).

When this gen. started I felt like I knew what was coming (more or less) and how I'd have to adept my PC. But with next gen. I am a bit in the unknown.
NVMe gen 4 drives, relatively beefy 8 core CPUs.

This has been said before, but if those games are going to focus on 30fps and will need 8 core CPUs and NVMe drives to handle those 30 fps than this generation could become an uphill upgrade battle for a couple years till things get where they need to be.
And even if they are going to aim at 60 fps, those are not specs that are currently wide spread.

So if you are really bored (and speak German, sadly this is a bachelor-level course and we are supposed to do those in German) then you can watch me give the first part of an introductory lecture on performance-oriented programming starting at 14:15 (~30 minutes from this post), here:
https://streaming.uibk.ac.at/livestream/mobile/703601/playlist.m3u8
(I guess our university streaming server can handle 2 extra people :p)

this one was iirc originally announced for PC aswell ... and its ArcSys ... so most liukely random day in random month out of nowhere
This one is very weird. This wasn't actually announced, as far as I can see, to PC.

What was announced was a similar Japanese collection (Kunio-kun: The World Classics Collection), that was announced for release on Steam in Japan (no news about an international release).
But then, the collection launched exclusively on another PC platform (DMM.com GAMES PC), and didn't launch on Steam at all.

Since then, ArcSys has been ignoring all questions about a PC release. 🙄

First Darius Cozmic Collection was developed by M2 so it's probably not happening at all (and the second one will probably share the same fate).
I really don't know what the deal is with M2.

They keep saying they want to release their arcade ports on Steam (and have worked on a few Visual Novels that are available on Steam), but then, because of some "performance issues" in getting the games to run well on PC, which they say they still haven't been able to resolve, nothing ever materializes.

The titles I listed, besides the DD/Kunio collection, have another handicap: Taito really doesn't care about releasing their titles on PC.
The few they have released, they slapped an online requirement (due to piracy concerns), and the titles were pretty much abandoned without updates or new DLCs.
I mean, the last time I checked Groove Coaster didn't even have proper controller support (you had to run the game in BPM, and manually activate Steam's controller support, which would then cause problems with a few other games).

Well, this is not gaming related but I wanted to share this.

As everyone knows in this planet we are facing the first global pandemic since 1918 and that's something that is truly affecting us even if we are not noticing the effects, mind can be tricky and will make us feel weird sometimes, For example, I'm feeling happy and mentally exhausted at the same time lately, lots of things going around and worrying about the near future, however, I can do my best to make you feel better and cheer you up if you need that any day, if we help each other, things will be easier ^^

Stay safe and be strong, huge hugs.

That's really kind of you. Speaking personally, this pandemic has thoroughly exacerbated issues I had with an already bad situation and I can't wait for it to be over. It's made me quite negative of late and I'm sorry about that. Here's hoping everything gets better soon!
