In the current Pro version of Win 10, it's possible to pick a number of days for updates to arrive after their release, it' s possible to set up to 30 days delay for regular updates (like the recent buggy one) and up to 365 days delay for major updates (the ones that happen twice a year).
The Home version though, I dunno what limitations that version has when it comes to these options.

Not sure what it really means for me but it seems important.
I hope I won't have to change my store region to play and purchase stuff in-game since it's not released in EU... but all signs point to yes and that's gonna be a pain in the ass if so.
I'm going to hate Microsoft so much if have to keep swapping region if I wanna buy in game stuff.

Are you in Europe perhaps? There's no way that's legal, hit up customer protection services in your country.

XBox EU players have to rely on gift cards to be able to buy stuff, it seems like it's not possible to buy microtransactions directly.
As someone that lives in EU, I feel like there's more hoops to go through to buy stuff and play on NA than there is to play on JP (foreigners can buy JP microtransactions directly from the smartphone game, PSO2es).
I know hence I'm saying that, I'll probably have to:
1) remove payment method from my acc
2) swap to a fake address to dl the game in the NA region
3) swap back and add payment method
4) if I wanna buy smt in-game buy a card
5) remove payment method
6) swap back to fake address to change store
7) buy whatever
8) swap back and readd my payment method
rinse and repeat 4 through 8 everytime I feel like dumping money on that game, I hope there'll be less hooks but that's gonna be a major pain.
I usually don't like to "hate on" and being negative but region locked stuff pisses me off so much.
This is the same situation as I am in to play FGO, but at least i can just download it to a iOS device different from my phone and keep it on a NA itunes acc to avoid swapping back and forth, iOS allow the store account to be different from your Apple ID, so at least even on said device I'm still using my Apple ID with my NA acc, this is miles better than whatever PSO2 is going to be.
Their handling of PSO2 has been awful so far, awful marketing (especially when compared to the JP version), no EU version, and PC MS store exclusive.
I can't summon the energy to go through this, but as soon as I read UWP, warning bells went off

From what I read (and mind, you, this is just my interpretation of that article), it's not trying to force UWP usage or close off controls, it's just trying to unify API's among all Windows apps, regardless of their format. Take your app, connect into this new API at compile time, and now it doesn't matter what format it's in (UWP or win32), it will work on new and old version of Windows (they only mention 10 so I assume this is like as dotnet features changes and so on).I can't summon the energy to go through this, but as soon as I read UWP, warning bells went off

edit: I'm sure some of the better programmers on here will put it in better terms since I can only think of it as "If DirectX did all the translating for you after you'd written your code" and not "you coding directx calls in your app from the beginning" - but i don't know how accurate this is to the reality of this project.

The problem was that even on easy difficulty, the combat was hard (lots of swarming enemies), and to get better equipment, you had to mine out extreme amounts of soil to get one piece of copper, or go spelunking and immediately get killed, or again, mine for hours in the caves.
Everything seemed to be kept behind a "gate", so to speak, and there were no obvious way of progressing.
So "gate" after "gate" but no starting key...
I wonder if it has changed....

I don't fully understand what they've done to Mafia 3. I'll have to actually download it and poke around.

The game's filesize has increased a lot. It looks like all the DLC has been integrated into the game itself. But a whole bunch of files are modified, too. And there's a huge number of save files, probably for testing, sitting in a folder. The game has increased in size by over 10GB.
I'm curious to see how far the tinkering goes.

Journey mode. Start with full iron tools, a magic mirror and even exclusive wings to help early movement.
And you can change monster spawn or use godmode at your leisure.
Though even if the swarming nature of the game is annoying (as it gets less difficult with higher resolutions, mobs don't spawn in view!), that is not the hardest point.. the bosses can be utterly brutal.
I really hope the deal to complete the trilogy is good! Since I own Mafia 2 and 3.
So the DLCs are free for Mafia 3 owners who haven't bought the dlcs? Shouldn't have bought them then ;(

I'll love SEGA again if they ever port one of the Miku Project Diva games to PC (be it the newest Switch one or the PS4 one from a few years ago).
That Windows apps thing... It doesn't sound bad but I always get nervous everytime Microsoft wants to modernize something.
2K's remasters are... a tad inconsistent quality-wise with BioShock Remastered being unacceptably buggy, but you gotta give them kudos for giving PC owners free upgrades AND keeping the original versions intact. That is just top notch behavior on their part. Regardless of how Mafia 2 DE turns out, you've still got the original.
Also, it solve a problem for them. They want to sell you the new remaster. They don't want to be competing with the old version which is obviously much cheaper during sales and the like. So they force you to buy the remaster, but nobody feels put-out because the classic version is given for free when you buy the remaster.

The Mafia 3 dlc is very good, so I'm glad it's included. I couldn't imagine playing the game without throwing knives. There's also a mission where you ramp kkk members. I'd love to see the pitch meeting for that mission.
Yeah, I often read about these kinds of hassles dealing with RMA directly with the brand/producer you bought something from and it just sounds so shitty, especially when it appears to be such a big gap in customer service responses. Truly glad that everything I buy has a 2-5 year warranty and they have to adhere by law. Nor do I need to contact the producer/brand in 95% of cases, just the shop I bought it from, and if I do then these laws still hold.
